[Q] nexus 5 + custom rom - No full control of music over bluetooth to headunit - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi all,
i've got a nexus 5 thats connected to my car via bluetooth. i've noticed that its not sending full control of music over to the headunit.
The nexus has AOKP installed onto it and before another ROM which did the same thing.
My nexus 7 which is on a rooted stock rom works just fine and gives full control over to the head unit.
Is this a aftermarket rom issue or something else?
if it helps both devices were using google music to play

[Q] Problem about AVRCP in N1

My phone is HD2 and installed the rom New Nexus One Android 2.2 Build FRG33 [ mccm v1.5](8.9.2010)
I found that i just couldn't use the buttoms on my bluetooth headset when im enjoying music.
what should i do with this problem?
thx for ur help!
I get this problem occasionally when I link my N1 w/ my car stereo. The controls don't work etc and it's not in audio streaming mode (ie. it's probably only using the Phone bluetooth profile and not the stereo audio profile as well). What I usually do is go into bluetooth settings, long click the device, and uncheck the bluetooth profiles. Then I recheck those profiles and reconnect the device. This usually fixes it. Of course, your problem could also be related to this HD2/Android hackery...

Bluetooth - phonebook not available

So I got my Nexus 5 today and have spent most of the afternoon tinkering with it. When I came to drive home, I paired it with my car (2012 Holden Cruze) and just like my Nexus 4 before it, it tells me there is no phonebook available, so I can't call anyone from the car. Also the car's call / disconnect buttons don't work.
I had exactly the same scenario with the Nexus 4 and ended up running CM10 on it, as bluetooth worked fine in that ROM. Clearly, CM has some different bluetooth code ..... my question is, does anybody know how to make this work? Can we somehow extract the bluetooth code from a CM10.2 / 11 ROM and install it into stock? I would really like to stay on stock.
I am interested in finding this out too, I have tried all sorts on my Nexus 4 but with no success. I don't seem to get the request from the car to access the phonebook on stock 4.2, 4.3 or 4.4 but get it straight away with CM10.1 :crying:

[Q] Pandora Issue With Connecting To Car Radio Via Accessory Feature

I have a Sprint 16gb Nexus 5 running Kitkat 4.4 build krt16M (Stock, Rooted)
I have a Kenwood Excelon kdc-x896 car radio, which has Pandora compatibility built in.
When using my Rooted Verizon Galaxy Nexus with 4.3 custom rom installed (or any version down to 4.0), Pandora would connect (sometimes haphazardly) to the radio via the Pandora Feature, resulting in the correct Black screen on the Phone (for the Pandora App), signifying that it was in accessory mode.
Currently, when I press the pandora button on my radio, after my phone has connected via bluetooth, it stays on check device & does not enter accessory mode (or attempt to on the phone). I have tried with Pandora open & closed, and with a freshly rebooted phone. I have also tried with two different nexus 5's.
Any ideas to troubleshoot?
I'm having this same issue... I can't find a fix so far though.

If you have bluetooth in your car can't you just play pandora through the BlueTooth Audio and bypass the pandora feature on the stereo? That is how mine works.
I have the same issue with mine (Pioneer z140bt). I've tried resetting the head unit to factory settings and pairing with my N5, but no luck. Mine will popup on my phone "Pandora Accessory" and then my head unit will say "Check your smart phone screen when it's safe to do so" and then nothing.
Mine is working fine. I use built in Pandora feature all the time in my car. The black accessory screen pops up as expected. I'm running stock 4.4.2. Rooted with Franco kernel. FWIW.

Any updates on this by chance ?

Bluetooth JVC Radio and Nexus 5 CM13 will not work together

Hello all !
I have a new JVC Radio R871BT.
i want to pair it with my nexus 5 device, but i can only pair the music function, not the phone bluetooth function.
Nexus tells me: connected (no phone)
i do use CM 13 Nightly 07/31/2016 with bluspark kernel r94.
I tried another CM Version, a CM Kernel and i changed my radio firmware on nexus. Nothing changed.
I tried an Iphone and Blackberry with that JVC Radio, works fine.
Any hints?
Thank you.

Nougat Bluetooth settings

Hey Y'all, can someone snap a screen shot of the Nougat bluetooth setting in the Developer Options menu. Since the Oreo update my Bluetooth device (car stereo) doesn't launch or control the music apps(Pandora) automatically like it did when I turn on the car. I don't know whats up because the phone connects for calls. The stereo plays Pandora over bluetooth but not through the Pandora control app built in to the stereo if I open Pandora manually. My wifes S7 still connects and controls through the built in Pandora app. The stereo is a few years old so I doubt Kenwood is gonna update it, plus its and Oreo issue anyway. Attached is a SS from the Oreo settings.
Thanks or whatever!
Dont no one know how to take a screenshot and post it?
I have to mess with my Pioneer head unit and phone to get my media to connect as well. Eventually I get it to connect but it is a hassle. This has been going on for a while even on my last phone which was the Note 4. Something changed in one of the Android versions I imagine. I would love to hear if you figure it out.

Yesterday's update to 9.0 fixed my issuebut it's kinda strange because Spotify control from head unit worked the while time.
