[Q] Droid Razr w/ broken screen. ADB/screencast help? - General Questions and Answers

My XT912 recently experience an unfortunate drop and the interior display cracked but it seems to me that it still maintains digitizer functionality. I am currently running a custom ROM, eclipse 5.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2434629) and am struggling to successfully use android screencast to operate my device.
To the best of my knowledge USB debugging should still be on with this device, I can't think of any reason why I would have disabled it since flashing the ROM a few months ago. However 'adb devices' just returns 'list of devices attached'. I have tried "adb kill-server" and "adb start-server" as well as different USB ports so this has led me to believe that USB debugging is disabled. (?)
When in recovery adb devices shows that i am in fact in recovery and i have full adb shell usage. I'm not sure if there is a way where i can use adb to turn on debugging or where my issue is.
Whether My phone is booted and running or if it is in recovery, screencast just gives me a white screen.
Any help is appreciated.

[Q] HTC Rhyme/Bliss ADB Problems

I've unlocked the bootloader through the official HTC Dev website, and attempted to follow the procedure here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1341127, however, ADB doesn't work very well.
I attempted to run "adb devices", and it recognises the phone, but says it's offline. When I tried to run zurgRush, it starts up the ADB daemon, and just sits there. Device manager doesn't show anything ADB related, I have unknown sources and USB Debugging enabled too... I have no idea how to get it working. My HD2 is much more well behaved... any suggestions would be welcome!

Moto G black screen after boot animation - backup data before factory reset?

Currently I'm having trouble with a Moto G. It crashed and doesn't boot up properly since. The boot animation shows up as usual, but after that it goes to a black screen (while the backlight remains on). According to my research this problem can most likely be fixed by a factory reset. Unfortunately some (non-backuped) pictures and videos are still stored on the device. Before resetting the phone I would like to download that data from the device first.
My idea was to use ADB to copy the files to my PC. However I haven't had much success so far. I'm using minimal ADB version 1.0.31 and Motorola device drivers version 6.3.0. Below I'll summarize what I've tried so far
After normal boot no ADB interface is connected to my PC. An MTP device shows up accompanied by a yellow exclamation mark (indicating that it's not usable).
When booting in recovery mode, no USB device shows up in my device manager.
When booting in "BP Tools" or "QCOM" mode I can see a "Mot Composite ADB Interface" . When calling "adb devices" it lists my Moto G but it also mentions "offline".
Does anyone know why the device shows as "offline"? Is there a chance to change that given the current state of the device? Is there maybe another way to download files from my device?

[Q] Broken screen, need to change fw and never enabled usb debug

Hi
my brother gave me his tf300t.
Here is the status
-the broken screen is a 8185n
-he never enabled the usb debug mode in the past
-he never connected to a pc
So I found a link that explain how to use screen vers G01 in place of a 8185n.
The starting point is a adb connection.
Anyway, since I cannot use the touch I don't know how to obtain result with "adb device" command.
I removed the drivers and reinstalled from scratch the android sdk together with adb.
But device is not listed.
I can only reboot the device. I tried to put in fastboot mode (volume down during reboot) but again adb doesn't recognize it.
How can I force the adb recognition to start the cwm installation etc etc ?
Thanks
Angelo

Have you tried connecting a USB mouse? Bit of a simple suggestion but could work. That's assuming the screen actually turns on

ADB/Fastboot cannot see my device

Im having some trouble with ADB / Fastboot commands. No matter if i try "fastboot devices" or "adb devices" they both show nothing / no device. I've tried the commands to the TWRP recovery, a booted os and the bootloader in fastboot mode. Nothing seems to be working. Im using the well known adb/fastboot 15 sec installer from here. I've tried two win10 computers and now a win7 computer although all 64 bit, which have not been a problem before.
In the bootloader on the phone with the cable plugged in, the red fastboot text doesn't show "FASTBOOT USB" unless i move the cursor (like it doesnt update before i move the cursor). Im running the command prompts with administrative rights. I've also tried different cables, but im beginning to think that its the phones micro usb connector that is faulty, although MPT is working fine in windows, and transfers files without problems. Its a HTC One S im trying to do this on. All i want is to update my recovery!
Is there something very obvious im missing?
I found a solution however a wierd one. I already had debugging enabled on the phone, but thought that i should try and disable it, and then re-enable it right after. This seemed to trigger something, as my computer now started to install some drivers, that it had been missing before. After this fastboot commands and adb commands ran without any trouble.

Device offline when using ADB

I'm trying to use ADB to connect my Droid Motorola RAZR HD running Android 4.4.2 KitKat, and when I enter
Code:
adb devices
, either no devices are listed when wifi is off, or my device is listed as an emulator and is offline when wifi is turned on. I've tried restarting the daemon as well as my phone, but no no avail.
Thanks ahead of time for any help provided.
