[Q] Change clock color and font on lockscreen? - Motorola Atrix 2

Does anybody know how to change the lock screen clock and font color in Scv7? I cant find the xml file that i need to edit. I've read around but the files they say to look for aren't there. I know there are apps that'll do this for me but thats just no fun and i dont learn anything.

I wanna say htcresources but I can't remember if that includes the clock or not. I know that it is the taskbar icons. that color is more than likely set in the xml which can't be edited.

Anybody...??
While looking in the MetaMorph, 'Post your morphs', thread I saw this:
Check out amacs thread for info on how to get white text in the notification bar and more customization options.
The thread is 30 pages long though so I didn't read through it... Hope this helps?
Many people including myself tried with no success I think in order to change the color in the taskbar clock you need to edit the service.odex. There is a way to decompile the odex but when I tried to recompile it back I get an error message.
Maybe you will have better luck with it. Here is a video on how to Creating Android Themes for the G1. Video 2 shows how to change the clock color.
Hope this helps you.

Thanks for the vids. It looks like in services.jar there is suppose to be a classes.dex file, but for some reason the ROMS aren't including this file...hmmm weird. I also noticed the videos didnt have sound... LOL Im gonna give it a shot.

That's because our ROMs have a services.odex instead of services.jar. I've tried a few times to decompile and re-compile the services.odex file with no success.

Ahh that makes sense. I do see a services.odex file. Now I gotta figure out how to deodex them. LOL
So does anyone know yet?

I'm pretty sure you're going to need Baksmali and Smali for that. I was looking around on Jesus-Freke's website and saw "How to deodex with Baksmali" but I never clicked it since CyanogenMOD is deodexed.
heres the file you helped me edit Vince lol. I made it gray instead of black.
nm this is for older fresh style roms. they probably changed the new ones hadnt ripped em open since running froyo and you can edit clock color in the cm settings.

How do i change color of font on 6.5.5 lockscreen?

I searched for a bit.. but the wife is about to leave for work and i needed an answer quick so she can see her time without me scrapping my lock slider..
Thanks in advance.
i really dont know, but i would start looking into .cpr files, there is a few for the WM lockscreen and they have inside some color values in HEX code. Easily editables with notepad2.

The clock font can be changed with Font Installer from the market. Once you download it and browse the fonts you go into the menu, then Preferences, then Select Fonts, and check all the AndroidClock*.ttf boxes while unchecking any others. Keep track of which ones you uncheck if you want to go back and change your other system fonts in the future.
As for the color, I had to get the right ROM to do that. Some don't have the option. I'm on twa_priv's SGT7 build with red home/back buttons + digital clock. It's pretty sweet.
Edit: And hey, you said you've done SystemUI modding, which I'm currently tinkering with. I noticed while sifting through the apk there were several gradients fading up from a light to dark grey, and I figured those were the images for the left panel of the settings menu, which I wouldn't mind customizing a little Quick question: Which one of those files is the right one? Looks like there's several folders organized by resolution. I'm at 160dpi and I can't remember if that's mdpi, hdpi or what. Thanks.

No problem. I'm always digging around in there just to try and see which pieces go to which parts of the interface (I wonder if anyone's made a map like I found for Windows?). I got lost in the same stuff modding Windows 7 themes--pretty much the exact same procedure with res folders and everything. Another question: the "actual background" you mentioned in the framework-res.apk: Can you give me the path to that in the apk?

You could try Team EOS3 JellyBean ROM. I believe it has some options for changing the color of the status and notification bar icons and clock.
I tried that rom for a bit but I use my tablet for too much daily stuff to stick with it until it gets a little less buggy, great build though. I wonder if it is possible to pull out that part of it and port to ICS.
You'll probably have to decompile the framework-res.apk
Edit some XML and or png

I was thinking that and I was going to use a zip someone has here for the back, home, menu, and recent apps and just change image in there but don't know about images on other side like clock, sd card, batteries, etc... I never tried anything from scratch like that and don't think I am knowledgeable enough. I have read guide on how to theme and have the programs but I am not a developer so some of it gets confusing. Any ideas on a zip out there that have those in it that I can redo would be great.

Everything there except the clock can be done with simple png edits. To get all the batteries right without going throught each of them individually throw it through photoshop in batch sort of thing. The clock is the only thing which is done in xml

[Q] How to change icon manually?

Hi everybody,
I know this is a stupid question and out there are many threads about how to change the icons exct...
I also know my BIG problem make laugh many people because I should live with it but I have to know how to do it and make the icons like I like.
So, I have to change just 1 icon only in Settings/System folder, I used already uComber and JWMD Icon Changer v3.1b but no 1 ot them see the icon of the application, basically the ugly icon of SRS WOW HD Equalizer I can't change it. Enyone who have SRS know the icon is ugly but the program is amazing. But I really wanto to change that icon.
Is the last thing to make my rom looking well.
Someone said it's possible vie Registry but i am not sure about that because I am not into that section, but I can do it if someone explain to me how.
How can I change that icon?

do you see the icon of WOW HD Settings? That's the icon which I can't change and I do not understand why!
If you can not see it in JWD then you will need hunt it in the registry & link a PNG file to it.
Have a look at this thread to help pin it down in registry:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6188525&postcount=1
If you have problems finding it you could export & upload parts of the registry tree for us to help.
Other option if you have installed srsWOW via cab is to edit cab/exe icons prior to install.
*JWD tip: some icons show as default JWD paint pallet & no text so you got to guess what they are ! have another good look ...

I am here and I can't understand HOW make a link to a PNG file. The PNG file is already in Windows forlder and the name is equalizer007.png.
I opened SRSPanel.cpl,0 and was only 1 link of some "Group" empty, so I delete it and I make this link "Icon"="\\Windows\\equalizer007.png" but is not working or i did in wrong way. I don't know, on the thread is not exactly clear how to do it.
See the pic.
