Hiho all! I got strange problem - my O3D is freezing when I leave the phone at night to load the battery. I'm waking up morning and first, what I do is removing the battery and inserting it back and turning on Thrill. Maybe someone of you - members - know why it's getting freeze.
I'll try to help, first can you tell me what you've done to the phone after you first got it?
Did you root your phone?
Did you try to apply CWM?
Did you apply any tweaks?
Did you install any apps?
My guess is that the problem is coming from some apps that you've downloaded.

Thats all. I don't think so these apps freezes the phone.
Sadly freezing of SOD (sleep of death) is a LG problem, a few of their units suffer from it and it seems to be a LG coding issue (maybe even down at driver level), some O2X and some O3D have the problem (or moe than others), even CM development for the O2X ran across it (dunno if they fixed it) a while back.
Without any real proof I think it's actually a radio issue, I've experienced it a few times, not often just 3-4 times since I got mine like two months ago and the only other thing that has shown any problems is the radio, bluetooth and WiFi specially.
Bluetooth and WiFi can sometimes just refuse to activate without a reboot and 2 times I know specifically that bluetooth tried to activate before, couldn't and after that SOD, when BT and WiFi is working then no SOD and no problems.
But that's just my own observations, as I said no real proof.
Dear TheFirlen,
Almost same problem here... I realized that my usb port gets hot if i leave it on charge and even cant handle usb mass storage mode. If i unmount my 32gb sdcard and leave it for a while to cool down the usb slot. After that my lg can be recognized by my compu but around 10 mins later i lost usb connection. So i guess u may have the same issue. Without my sdcard i can charge the phone %100 but still unstable because i may get SODs during daily usage and this is annoying. I am thinking to wait GB update and if the problem is still there i will send it to RMA. Hope this helps...
Kind Regards,

Hmm,
Well, it might be a problem with the apps. Always worth a try.
My phone would freeze before too until I found out the problem was related to a few apps. After uninstalling them, there was no problem anymore.
-Advenced Task Killer
do you use its autokill feature and are you making sure that the apps that you attempt to kill won't affect the system? Truthfully, task killers arn't really needed except for closing or restarting that one app that is malfunctioning. If you only use it that way, it shouldn't be this apps problem.
- HTC_IME mod
- Keyboard Calibration for HTC_IME mod
I don't know about these two apps and did not find them on the market. These might be a reason too.
-Root Uninstaller
This might be a possible reason too if you use it to uninstall certain system apps.
For me, the problem was usually related to apps. First time was because I used tasker to set a profile of taking a picture whenever screen turned on. Apparently, it would work sometimes, but when it doesn't work...that's when phone freezes and I'm unable to unlock. Removing that task solved the problem.
A second time was from Automatic Task Killer, where it was set to close a few apps whenever screen turned on. Uninstalling that fixed the problem.
Now, I haven't experienced any freezing for the past few weeks.
However, it might be that Echts is right and your suffering from an issue that is not apps related. You could always try a hard reset or exchange it for a new one.
PROTOCHIP - I had the same problem with USB as you, but I solved it. I bought compressed air and injected to usb in phone - it worked for me.
DevJackey - Only Advanced Task killer can be a reason, cuz:
- With root uninstaller I didn't uninstalled anything
- HTC_IME mod is keyboard - stable
I will check it later - now playing Dead Island

Dear TheFirlen,
So have you cleaned the usb port with the air compressor? Let me try it since i dont want to send phone to the service... Living without 3D sucks these days Thanks for the advise...

Or if you want to get rid of the hassle with cables...
download an app like Samba File-Sharing set up a username and password.
Then connect to wifi and you'll find the device under your Network. Make it a network drive like I did and you'll be able to press it to view all folders and files on your sdcard and external sdcard.
Exactly the same as if you had plugged in a cable and mounted it. Except with this, you have the added benefits of not using a cable and only using WiFi and the benefit of not having your sdcard mounted the entire time.

From this yesterday post I haven't any freeze. I have done some settings in ATK (Advanced Task Killer). Apps&Processes, which ATK is NOT killing now:
- weather
- Market
- com.lge.omadmclient
- PowerAMP
No freeze, no lag btw I dunno what is com.lge.omadmclient process...
//EDIT:
Btw Software Data Cable is IMHO better than Samba File Sharing

Actually... I was suggesting it to PROTOCHIP because he was still having the USB problems.
I took a look at the app you recommended. Tried it out, but can't tell how it is better. Transfers appear to be slower and you must choose to start the service and stop.
I went back to using Samba because I like how you could choose to set it as a network device and it'll always be ready for file transfers as soon as phone is connected to WiFi
Maybe yes - but it was just my opinion
Mine freezes up to 4 times a day whether connected via USB or not. It has only started doing this since the new update. It NEVER froze the 4+ months earlier. I stopped all the running appz and watched the running appz screen. When I sent it a text the messaged appz started up, but so did 2 games in the background!
When it is connected to the PC. The PC still beeps when you disconnect it.
Hi all,
Every few days, the fitbit app gets "stuck". It doesn't record any steps and BBS shows that PedometerService is keeping the device awake with a CPU wakelock.
Anyone else experiencing the same thing? Know of a fix?
Thanks,

Are you still able to sync with your PC/Mac via the toggle that comes with a fitbit? Try reinstalling the app as well. I'm not having any issues with fitbit app on this phone.

I don't have a fitbit. I'm using the M8 as a fitbit. The M8 had a pedometer built in (sort of). You can add the M8 to your list of devices in fitbit, then use it as your pedometer workout an actual fitbit device.
That's what's causing the broken wakelock, I think....
I'm in a bit of a pickle. At some point in the last week I did something or put something on my phone that's now occupying my camera and preventing me from recording anything. Pictures still work. Whether this means something is recording, I don't know. I disabled the camera with another app, but that's no solution.
I'm not rooted. I need an app that can log at some level what apps are using my camera so that I can uninstall the offending app. My wifi also recently started disabling itself during use, and I can't figure that out either. If you know of something that can inform me on both problems, please do pass that my way. I've been unsuccessful on my end so far in my search.
I just don't have enough information to troubleshoot these issues, the only viable option I have atm is a factory reset, and that's not a solution, it's just a shortcut.

The same thing happened to me, Turned out Google Now was causing the problem however It's been resolved now for me as i have it enabled again
Allowing "Google Now" voice detection "From Any Screen" seems to be the culprit. Set "From Any Screen" to off to take videos.

It doesn't seem to have been fixed for me yet. I just verified that's the cause, that's a relief. I really like that feature, how unfortunate.
My wifi hasn't been disabling itself today, but how would I troubleshoot it when it does? It's a really annoying problem, I don't tend to use data.

I'm not entirely sure what's causing your WiFi problem, However to see if you can recover the Google now feature make sure your device is up-to-date and your app is up-to-date, Have you tried Rebooting the device :/ Really Not sure on the Wi-Fi buddy

Are you experiencing the following Kernel wakelocks on your phone?
msm_serial_hs_dma
BTLowPower
It hapepns both with an LG G Watch R (5.0.2) and a regular BT headset.
If we take the second device, I do expect a Kernel wakelock while speaking or streaming music. The phone is active any way while performing this task.
What is strange is that even if there is no activity the wakelocks avoid deep sleep.
What is strange is that if I move away from the headset (and the BT icon goes the "non connected" status), the wakelocks are always there.
The effect is that my phone (both on 4.4.4 and 5.0.2) almost never ever sleeps, and sometimes get warm.
If I switch BT off, everything goes back to normal.
Any solution?
I'm rooted, so I can do further tests researches (I'm using BBS to spot the wakelock).
Is it possible that this is an hardware problem? I'm asking as it looks like I'm the only one with this issue!
Thanks.
I can imagine Android Wear as an issue but the Bluetooth headset is mind boggling.... I have a Sony SRS X7 Bluetooth speaker and that never causes this issue as far as I am aware.

I was pointing to Wear as well.
Then I noticed it just connecting to a BT headset.
Can you please connect to the speaker and play music for a minute or so. Then stop but keep the Z3 connected and report if you notice the wakelocks (provided you are rooted)? 10 minutes will be enough.
Could it be an hardware problem?
Thanks a lot.
Yeah, I checked again as you asked, still have not noticed any impact on battery life. Mind you I am still on KitKAt and I noticed you are on Lollipop. Have you tried restarting? Maybe it's like the old camera big on Nexus Kitkat release where camera app sometimes ran in the background till restarted.
I thought im the only one having this bluetooth issues..
If you are rooted, can you please check if you have the same wakelock as myself? Tx.

Thanks for it.
Did you check wakelocks via Battery stats? It could be that a direct impact on battery life is not visible.
I did a test pairing my watch with a 5.1 Nexus 10. The wakelocks are there (with a slightly different name) but they are way less intrusive. They wake the phone up only when needed and the counted 4 minutes over a usage of 10 hours.
My conclusion is that the BT implementation on Z3 (regardless 4.4.4 or 5.0.2) is defective, from a wakelocks and battery perspective.
The fact that I'm one of the few noticing it, could also lead to an hw defect.
What's the expert view?
I have the same problem. Took me a while to figure out it is BT. Since turning off BT did not work (turns out it takes a restart of BT). Odd thing is it does not always happen. Over the past few days I have experimented on different apps (Beyondpod, Audible, Kugou), stopping at different situation (from app, stop from device then turn off, turn off device without first stopping), and on different BT devices (Plantronic Backbeat 903, Nissan Leaf, some no-name car kit (amazon.com/dp/B00L1VT5KS). So far I've ruled out the apps and Plantronic. But between the car and car kit I am not certain. Sometime I connects to both and it would have no problem. Some days (e.g. today) BT will keep the phone awake). Am I'm running more or less the same apps.
In all cases, reboot will fix the issue. But I don't always have luck with simply restarting BT.
I'm able to locate a few threads on the topic. looks like it is not limited to Z3. Z1/s and compact suffer from the same

Thanks a lot for reporting your experience.
The main difference is that if I disconnect the BT device the drain and wakelocks continue, but if I switch BT off they stop.
Then I do not have BT listed in battery stats as a drain.

Unfortunately the workaround of turning off + wait + on BT is not a usable solution in a scenario where you use a smartwatch, that has to be connected the all day!!
I'm tempted to try an AOSP based rom to see if the problem is HW related or just SW.
I'll keep you posted.
Thanks.
I did a further test, in the below sequence:
- BT ON + connected to a Plantronics headset => wakelock + device always on
- BT ON + disconnected to a Plantronics headset => wakelock + device always on
- BT OFF + disconnected to a Plantronics headset => no wakelock + device sleep
- BT ON + disconnected to a Plantronics headset => wakelock + device always on
This thing is driving me crazy!!!!!

Hi Andrew, that's great to have @Entropy512 input for what appears to be a very "personal" problem!!
I had some further investigation and discovered that:
In wakelock detector under kernel wakelocks I can notice that:
ipc000000ef_sensors.qcom has the highest number (7387 in 3h).
ipc0000008c_sensors.qcom (649 in 3h).
Under CPU WL I have UID [Type: System (Bluetooth) - bluedroid_timer] is the biggest WL. This looks to be a Lollipop general issue, as I had the same in KK I'm not pretty sure it is related.
In Sony talk forum I got a reply from a moderator: "That item you listed is known to prevent sleep from back in 2012 and to fix you need to decompile and rebuild the item with amended code - However you still could have an app hence why I mentioned the app to check."
It's strange to me to be asked, as a customer, to decompile and rebuild system stuff!!
Any chance there is an app causing my issue? Any suggestion on how I can root cause it?
Is there a chance it is an hw problem?
Thanks a lot.

Hi, my reference to Lollipop was only related to UID [Type: System (Bluetooth) - bluedroid_timer] CPU WakeLock.
All the rest of my findings where exactly the same in KK.
I got to Sony support forum and a very kind Sony guy promised to look after this issue.
I provided some system dump log taken via PC C after recreating the issue.
I'll keep you updated about the progress.

That moderator had no clue... Something that happened on a 2012 device is of no relevance to a device released in late 2014. He's probably talking about the Xperia S which was a totally different device.
I'm not sure what's causing your problem - as I said, I've never seen it on stock, and only saw it on sony AOSP where the current Bluetooth LPM configuration is completely broken. (Planning on pushing patches for that tonight - but sony AOSP is pretty much independent from production builds right now.)

Hi Andrew, did Sony fix it in their recent AOSP 5.1?
OT ON: are u working on Omni for the Z3? OT OFF
Here a self explanatory comparison in between two very simalar days.
The first is with a BT device connected (just connected not streaming or talking).
The second (NO BT - ....) is without. The deep sleep attitude is very different!!
I was on KK yes, but the situation with 5.0.2 is exactly the same.
Did anyone experience such an issue? After disconnecting the phone from android auto the keyboard never shows up again for any input filed until the phone is rebooted.
I've tried changing the keyboard to another one, closing apps, cleaning memory... Nothing helps... Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Mine doesn't have that issue. Just wondering if you have any system apps disabled that might be causing your issue?
still haven't been able to use keyboard on your device??
If you can, reproduce the issue again... you can try to report the issue to Samsung Members app and see if Samsung is able to figure out what went wrong. If it's still not working, then I suppose you can chat with a tech on samsung website, see how you can get some technical help
Thanks guys! I suspect it's because of the Galaxy Max Hz and its Doze setting.
After I've disabled, it seems to be working fine.

Hi - I have this exact same issue on my Note 10+. More often then not when I unplug my phone from Android Auto in the car, the normal keyboard stops working. It works fine when I restart the phone. I don't think I have "Galaxy Max Hz" on my phone, but were any other Doze setting you disabled to get this to work normally?
