is there a root for kitkat? - AT&T LG G2

i recently had to flash to the kitkat update loosing my root.
is there a way to root kitkat?

No, and this is not the place to post that.

How is it possible you have been a member for two years yet you are stupid enough to post that here? Read the damn rules mate this is ridiculous.
Also to answer you question, with the veil of ignorance you seem to live under I doubt there is root on KitKat for you.

lol quick post wasnt paying attention all i saw was g2 att and thats what i have so i posted this question.

holy calm down bro... People make mistakes. I spilled coffee on myself this morning are you going to freak out on me too?

Meh, I took my aggravation on my unreliable internet connection out on you. If you are updated to KK already there is no way to root, you need to downgrade via LGFlash and then root before taking the KK OTA to keep root.

ioroot is working for KK now

Thanks for the link. I will read up on it. That's too bad that we can't install custom recovery yet. I wanted an aosp Rom ?
Would you suggest downgrading? Or would that mess up something? Not recommended?

the way things are right now there may never be a recovery for stock kit kat so if you want aosp then yes I recommend downgrading to 10d here is a link on how(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476)
I myself wanted stock kk with custom recovery so I followed this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2672931 just in case you want kk with root/recovery which is currently the only way

Root for Maxx on 4.4.4?

Hey Guys, so I purchased my Maxx on release day and I'm currently on 4.4.4. I was just wondering if there was a root method available for me as I would like to have native tethering again.

Fair enough. However, if your BL is unlocked and you are rooted, I doubt you are that much of a junior.
That being said, its pretty hard to have an answer about a update that hasn't even been released yet.
Basically, once it hits, some will take it for the team, either on purpose or on accident, and information will be flowing...until then its only speculation.
I'm sorry if I came across like a DB.

[Q] Is Rooting Android version 4.4.4 possible?

Hello,
Sorry if this question has been asked before. I am used to rooting Samsung phones and this one is new to me. I have tried Weaksauce and I get root fail and it looks like Sunshine does not work on 4.4.4 yet. has anybody been able to root 4.4.4 and can you provide any links or help.
I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.
Only way to root 4.4.4 is to be S-OFF and it isn't possible to S-OFF 4.4.4 yet.
For future questions I suggest using the search option as this is a question that is asked at least once a week and a very easy answer to find.

[Q&A] Official KDZ Download (D80130B)

Q&A for Official KDZ Download (D80130B)
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for Official KDZ Download (D80130B). If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
Hope this isn't too obvious an answer, but does flashing a stock kdz with a custom recovery like twrp installing cause problems? I feel like I've read about OTA updates with twrp installed doing that.
Thanks, just getting into this.

Nah you can flash the stock kdz with the LG Flash Tool regardless of what youre currently running, But after you flash the kdz it will wipe your phone and give you a stock recovery.
For this phone custom recovery with 30b isn't working yet as far as i know.
FM radio
Will it enable FM radio on my LG G2?

Can the S3 i535 with 4.4.2 run CM13?

I have a Verizon S3 unlocked, no root, totally stock android 4.4.2 with baseband yudne1 and build kot49h.i535vrudne1
Want to confirm if I can install CM13 nightly. Everything I read indicates I need to root and update recovery and all that good stuff but it is not possible on 4.4.2
Just want to confirm if anything has changed in the past year with a new process. Forums have a lot of old guides so I would appreciate a quick yes or no. if yes, any link to a stable procedure would really be appreciated.
Thank you in advance. XDA is awesome and the people on this forum are some of the best.
Thanks,
ARiK

Hey!
As @ShapesBlue says, if you took the OTA to 4.2.2 then you are locked. HOWEVER, there is a method developed by the typical enterprising XDA member that "Downgrades" the firmware by flashing part of the boot loader/firmware but leaves the crucial bit intact that doesn't brick the phone. Sort of a hybrid firmware flash. I believe it's supposed to open the phone up to flashing TWRP and non-stock custom ROMs. I know someone who used it and it worked on CM12.1 last year, but he also had some trouble after awhile (don't know if that was related to this procedure or not) and made an error later that bricked his phone, permanently it seems.
What isn't mentioned in that OP, at least the last time I looked, was that after doing this procedure, if you flash the firmware recommended in the CM12 and CM13 thread OP's, you will overwrite the partition that is spared in his zip file. Then you will be dead! He does explain exactly what partitions are flashed by telling you how to make the zip file. The updater-script I expect is not touched. Looking at it or in the other files you'll need to do this process will show you what's written where, but they have the partitions names. You can go into the CM12.1 thread OP on XDA for our phone and by clicking on the "d2vzw ROM Extras" link you can find all kinds of stuff, plus a few different partition tables that tell you how your phone is setup. There is other info in the OP itself about this and other topics related to flashing CM as well. (I'm the OP )
WARNING! Don't go into this haphazardly though. I would read through that thread thoroughly and see what if any success people are reporting, and ask questions. You don't want to ruin your phone!
It's in the "Android Development" forum in the root forum for our phone.
Report back on what you end up doing.:good:
