yeah lets hope
yeah lets hope for that.
that vivo root app doesnt work for me. it begins then i get google services crash which leads to a reboot, only for the app to finish with an X id imagine meaning unsuccessful .
edit:
turned it off charge, and it worked.
even with English some menus etc are still in Chinese . liaow are rolling the phone out now with an international rom so wonder if thats what we have which i doubt.
How are you guys liking the phone? Except for the fact that some of the sub menus still are in Chinese. I noticed a beta version of Fun Touch Rom 1.17.11 is up, can't read the changelog though as it's in Chinese!
I've gotten Photo+ to work, even printed out the picture to see if it worked and it did. Tried to get the navigation to work. In one of their Vivo videos, three students use the AR Navi in Finland, so I was hoping this could be used in Europe, and it probably still can only again all the submenus are in chinese. There are downloadble maps, but as far as I can tell only Chinese cities.
By the way I am Mars from Denmark on the Liaow page
I find that text on screen seems to break up words as it hits the edge of the screen instead of moving the entire word to a new line. Same when reading online text or in apps etc. No sub menu to change text size to fix this. Anyone know what the button under the finger print scanner is ?

there is no button under the finger print scanner and I have the same problem with the words breaking up at the edge of the screen and its really frustrating and also I am having a problem locating my self using google map app do you guys know how to fix it and thanks.
Settings>Mix-Match>Font.... There you can change font size but still the same, breaking up words.
Sent from my vivo Xplay3S using Tapatalk
Found that in mix match. I'd imagine its to do with the translation from Chinese. We need an international ROM. Even the manuals in the phone are Chinese which is useless The button on the back is to take pictures with on the camera. I'll have a look at my maps see if I can sort it.

OK installed Google maps and turned on GPS data and WiFi. It did nothing. Searched my network again and picked the one I'm on then it seemed to work. Not sure if it knew were I lived based on my Google now location, but when I searched a route it asked me to start from my location. Seems to be working from that end. The maps won't find my location though when clicking the location button. So maybe there's a problem there with gps
Sent from my vivo Xplay3S using Tapatalk
It takes almost 10 to 20 minutes first time to get satellites, after that 2 or 3 mins and ready to go, let it on gmaps until gps starts working

Why want a sub-forum on XDA when there's a whole forum dedicated to international Vivo users? I assume the chances are low that a Xplay 3S sub-forum will ever be added to XDA...
I just registered for that forum, not too many people there yet though.
As for the GPS issue, yes it does take 20 mins for the first fix, then 1-2min for the second time you try. After that it Works perfectly.
The fingerprint scanner is a button as well. With air wake gestures enabled and blackscreen you can activate the phone by pressing the fingerprint button and Draw a V or M to activate the function of the choice.

Hi to all Proud owners of "VIVO Xplay 3S", can anyone please advise how is the DTS-X sound quality?
Also do you get any preloaded 2k content on the phone?
How is the sound quality when playing music via stock headphones?
And last but not least do you know if this device support Wi-fi "AC" Standard or support for wi-fi "N" both 2.4 and 5 Ghz?
Any recommended site to order this Device ? As I live in Ireland.
Many Thanks
Hi mate from Ireland myself most of us if not all bought it from liaow . HiFi sound when enabled is amazing. It only works on vivos own apps video music etc. There was 2 or 3 vids preloaded for samples basically the ads floating around the web. Crystal clear. Not sure about the WiFi but it works good. I find the network signal isn't as good as my last phone. 4g works well. The translated text from Chinese to English is a bit messy . ie : words broken at edge of the screen . small glitches until the international ROM is released . overall I'm happy.

Build quality is excellent too, in fact I'm looking at getting the ZTE Nubia X6 from Liaow as well

Hi
I just wondering about buying htc one s.
But i have two questions :
- does it work with copilot ( Offline Gps ) ?
And if you wanna answer to this question too :
- would you have prefer wait and buy the x one ?
Thank you so much
=> on their website, they say it is, but i'm looking for someone who already did it (you can test free version of copilot as well, but shutdown data and wifi)
I don't see why CoPilot shouldn't work. I have it on my N1 and tablet.
I'll install it on the One S tonight and post back.
I asked it, because at beginning i saw sony xperia s , but it doesn't appear on copilot website http://copilotlive.com/uk/personal/android.asp, clique on "Is your phone/tablet compatible?" on the right.
So the xperia s isn't listed, so i look about the htc one s (which is in the list)
maybe i'm too hurried, but what was the result ?
I just bought it.
I'll have it on wednesday, i'll tell you.
I hope i'll not be disapointed, by this phone with/without this app.

Yes. I have Co-pilot and it works fine.
Sorry I didn't get back to this thread.
Yes it work as posted already by ascot17 already.
works fine but is totally useless on the one s as the speaker volume is so low its unusable in a car. Or at least in mine and my friends instance.

Agreed that the speaker volume is not great. I find it better using Co-pilot however than Google Navigation which is even quieter!
I can't work it out as my cheap 50 pound android phone is louder

Hi
Thank you all for your responses.
The sound doesn't matter for me, because i always mute it (i just take a look sometimes to see my way ; exept when I use the speed alert).
Sad to see that this phone already has a bad point.
hi, I read that google now ("ok google") only activates when the screen is on. I was wondering if theres a hack or setting somewhere where you can activate it with the screen off? I mostly want this for hands-free use in the car, so I can avoid having to touch the phone while driving (big no no).
also, is there a site somewhere explaining all the features of what you can say/ask google now? or even a link with comparisons between siri and google now, and what google now cant do that siri does? I ask this cuz ill be coming from iPhone.
thanks.
I think that would really drain the battery - if possible!
However, here is a collection on some of the commands you can ask google now:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1961636
I'm really surprised how great it works! And i live in Denmark, where i can't even take full use of everything
samsung has had this with s-voice. and i think motorola enabled google now to do this on the motox but i'm not sure. yes it drains battery, but how much? depends on the cpu and driver and the software involved..... i don't have my nexus yet so i can't say "how" to do this but i would expect it to be an eventual custom feature if not a future update if it's not already in a setting somewhere.

Everything I've read has claimed that the Nexus 5 should handle this as well as MotoX since it has the Snapdragon 800. Have we ever gotten an official answer on why this won't work?

hey thanks for the link. battery drain wouldn't be too much of an issue, as usually I would just use it while the device is being charged in my car, but it would be nice to use sometimes without as well, and while leaving the screen on would be nice, a slow charging car charger, is going to charge faster with the screen off, as that's usually the most power hungry lol. so it would be nice to have the voice activation at will while using.
If some of the launcher/search code was open source, I'd imagine this would be quite easy to do.
Pretty sure I read somewhere that the 'always listening' (for "OK Google" command) requires some hardware functionality. So no, it would not be possible like it is on the Moto X.

i'd imagine you could port parts of the moto x rom into the nexus. things like this have been done before. just have to find all the dependancies.

I mean, if you had access to the facilities used by the n5 launcher source, you could likely utilize them when screen is off via software pretty easily.

Yes. But from what I understand the snapdragon 800 has that hardware built in.

Video is about 1/2 way down on the right. Processor is capable.
Lets see if I can't clear things up. If you want your phone to be always listening, you need hardware support for it unless you want your phone to die in a matter of hours. If you are okay with this , check out this app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.RSen.OpenMic.Pheonix It also lets you configure things like only when charging or just when the screen is on to save some battery, and its actually a very nice app overall. Worth checking out.
The Moto x has a special custom chip set that allows for this always listening. Any attempt to port that feature from the Moto x would fail, as the Nexus 5 doesn't have the same chip set. The nexus 5 however, does have hardware that allows for always listening, its part of the Snapdragon 800 SOC that powers this phone, along with the Note 3 and LG G2.
But getting the feature to actually work on our phones, even with the hardware, is by no means an easy task. Read the comments on this post if you want to get an idea for what this entails. https://plus.google.com/112424215551484520138/posts/AznwFxbBapJ
So is it possible? Yes. But it is not something that is gonna be a quick easy port of small modification of an existing app, it would take some real serious work form (maybe a team even of) good Dev's to make this function.
Sorry if its not the news you wanted to hear.

If you're plugged in/wireless charging Google Now Voice commands work with the screen off.
Settings>Language & Input > Voice Input> Enhanced Google services> "OK Google" Detection>From any screen> enabled
"responds to your voice. Works when the screen is on or the device is charging."
make sure the next option "personal results" is also enabled if you want Google Now to be able to do anything
Try this app, Open Mic+. It'll do the job.
Galaxy S7 screen not responding to touch sometimes. The bottom portion of the display is affected. I tried 6 different S7 and all of them have the same problem, test yours like this and tap gently not hard, when you press hard you press 3mm on the screen and that is a lot ! The problem is worse when the phone is cold (20C) This is annoying because the place where its not working is the same place where the space bar is and the "." Does anyone else have that exact problem? Here is a video of the problem : https://youtu.be/OW_FQBMcuOE

There are two threads already open with this situation.
I have this problem at the same location you demonstrate. The right side has this problem too. From bottom right to the top 1 cm and 2 or 3 cm up you are going to reproduce the same thing.
I get used to it but it is very annoying. Never liked Samsung because of this things. They use low quality material all around. I will never trust them.

Just received H9 update and the release notes did not mention anything about LCD, touch screen or anything related to it.
But since the update, I've been trying to reproduce the problem trying to find the blind spots and for my surprise I did not find anything. The touchscreen is perfect and I can feel it is more sensitive.
Before the update I could reproduce the problem very easy! Now it is perfect.
The update here in my region (Brazil - ZTO) was about 170MB. Samsung Cloud was introduced.
Wow, mine was manufactured 2 weeks ago (2016.08.16) and I've owned it since about the 24th too, so it was 8 days old when I received it
Hi guys, i'm coming from the Moto 360 Sport, and interested in getting the Huawei Watch 2 Sport, simple because Moto crippled it after the AW 2.0 upgrade, ridiculously slow to use now.
With the Moto 360 Sport, it did have a display feature called "AnyLight ", that displays in 'any light' and i loved that.
Motorola accomplishes it by combining a traditional backlit LCD in "transmissive" display with reflective backing. Or something like that.
Anyway, I really like this feature, see screens attached.
I was wondering what the Huawei Watch 2 Sport/Classic screens look like in dim/ambient mode. Does it have this idea?
Anyone care to share some photo of this, as I've read/watched so many reviews, but cannot see what this looks like.
Thanks a lot.
Darren.
Hw2 is amoled so in ambient modes is uses much much less battery because of the black pixels being off, but this feature that you're talking about is not available in hw2, however the watch display is very sharp and shiny even in direct sun light.
also be aware that amoled screens get damaged (burn-in issue) if a pixel is on a particular color for a long time, meaning that for example on ambient mode there are numbers around the screen that are always on, this may cause those numbers to burn in the screen so even when you are in a completely different screen, you will still see those numbers! (for more info google Burn-in)
Just adding to what was already said regarding burn in. Most watch face makers that support ambient move include a feature which shifts the pixels around ever so slightly to prevent burn in. A very simple yet elegant solution to the problem.

yeah if that's as you said it would be great, I havent noticed it yet
So I just found something interesting. Under developer options > Wear Developer options there is a "force anti burn" setting. Set this up now to give it a try.

hi seems like relevant topic for my question.
are there many disadvantages to get the wifi only (non 4G) of this huawei watch 2? (i get the obvious i cant put sim card and get direct internet connection of course). for example:
will the NFC still works on the non 4G model?
how about the xda community ie root twrp and custom rom? less or more than global version?
any other important things i need to know when deciding to get wifi only or 4G?
thank you.

There was an option in camera app on my previous Samsung Galaxy S8+, and it appears it's an option with Huawei's Mate 20 series, that allows the camera to only record slow-mo video when motion is detected.
However, this 'only record when motion detected' slow-mo option is missing on my P30 Pro.
Can anyone with a P40-series phone let me know if Huawei put it back in?

Off the topic query but how are you finding the p40pro till now in terms of camera and the software experience? ..i have ordered one here in UK and will probably get it in a couple of days

First off it it's a beautiful device and feels great in the hand. It's one of those devices that you find satisfying to touch.
The camera is excellent exactly how I expected it to be after owning a mate 20 Pro a last year, and that device ruined my experience of owning a note 10 plus as the camera on the note just couldn't compare.
Software is good although EMUI is one of my favourite android skins anyway. I find it pretty easy to live without gms as I don't really do social media or anything.
It is easy to put gms on this device although I took it off just to run a stock phone as stock. Due to the fact the only things I wanted from gms (Google pay and music) won't work anyway.
Main gripe with this phone is no gpay or banking apps. Hopefully Huawei can sort this soon. Oh and no stereo speaker or dolby atmos.
Now I need to decide whether to switch from my note 10 plus to this or not?
