[Q] What cases do you guys put on your devices? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm looking for a good case to put on my Nexus 5. I'm thinking of picking up the Spiegen SGP Ultra Hybrid Crystal Clear. Looks nice to me. I'm looking to see what you guys have and if they're good, I'll consider using them.

Take a look around in here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/accessories
You can also click on my signature to show my nexus 5 on the "nexus 32GB". I am a big fan of TPU and cruzerlite designs

I got the bumper from the play store but I wouldn't recommend it. It started peeling on me right away. I ended up getting refund.

I have it and I'm returning it. The back isn't clear is hazy. The buttons are too flat

Something I took into consideration when looking at cases was the flash hole. Many cases sport a hole just barely big enough for the flash. I wanted to make sure there was enough of a cutout for the flash to reach the entire area of the potential photo area.
HDR is pretty awesome with this phone though, and I rarely use the flash... Just something to think about.

originally had the verizon holster case but I bought the aluminum back and cruzerlite clear case. Still wanted to holster my phone so I tried to fit it in the holster with the cruzer lite and its fits snug and looks good
I've got an Otterbox commuter in Glacier white that looks and fits great on my white s3. Feels very safe and secure.

I got the Belkin bumper case. And HD Zagg shield (doesn't have the orange peel of regular zagg).
As someone that generally hates cases, I find the bumper gives me the illusion of no case..but protects the corners very well.
Keeps the phone nice and minimal looking still.
That looks very clean, I also hate cases this seems to be my next case

Was sort of expensive for a bumper (29.99) but I got it at best buy, it's cheaper on Amazon, I just hate ordering stuff.

hi
Trident case on mine. Would like more color choices but nice case otherwise.

Rather than looks does anyone have any experience with dropping their phone with their respective cases? My life flashed before my eyes a few months ago when I saw my old iPhone 4S dropping from a bag I was carrying. But, the otterbox hybrid case I was using kept the phone safe and secure. While I don't want to go full derp and increase the thickness of the phone too much, I would love to increase the peace of mind with a good case that protects better than it looks.
Thx in advance.

[Q] Neoprene pouch?

Does anyone make a plain, snug-fitting neoprene type material pouch for the Nexus 4?
Something like the one that came standard with the G1 or Nexus One.
Thanks.

I got one of the $3.99 China specials from eBay. It got here fast.
I ordered the one for the Note 2, based upon a recommendation I read for sizing if you want to use it for the bumper. It is a little on the loose side, not really too big per se, but the fit is not snug. I may order another if I can find one just slightly smaller, not like it matters at $3.99 + $1 for shipping, lulz.

SGP Ultra-thin Air

Does anybody have one of these? Preferably in the orange color? I'm considering buying one of these and want to know if it is worth it.

In my opinion it´s overpriced, i have Meifeng case it´s very good quality and cost 6€, see here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2030443&highlight=meifeng+nexus+4
Also have Ringke Fusion but bit bulky for me and now i´m using Meifeng and the texture and grip it´s extraordinary.
Greetings.

I put mine on for 5 seconds and took it off. It fits but it comes off easy. And it's very smooth texture so it's very slippery. IMO Rearthe Ringke Slim is much much better.

Ringke fusion?

I ordered this case from eBay for thirteen bucks since the Google ones were not available. I had one on my n4 and liked it. Have used otter box in the past and some no name tpu's before. Never tried a bumper either. Is there any others you'd recommend?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
thats the one I was thinking of getting. I was going to get the grey one for a white n5 but then thought the sides are black anyway so decided on the black in the end. Nice looking case hope it gives the protection as well as the looks.
I'm torn as well I want something clear I want the Nexus logo visible and also I do not want to pay 34.99 for googles case
Right, I don't want to have it naked just in case. I've had good luck with the fusion plus its cheap. Idk about those flip cases, they look nice but for forty or fifty I'd rather not.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Iv never used a flip case but I have always thought that the novelty of flipping over the cover to activate the screen will wear thin quickly and having to deal with the flappy front when open will be far more annoying than any practical use it will make up for.

Cases are limited at this time as you'd expect, so I picked up a spigen ultra fit in the meantime for 20 bucks. But planning on getting Otterbox when available.

6 cases

I got these 6 cases and used 4 of them and the other 2 my wife used until we both found our favorites. I'd be happy to answer some questions to help other XDA members find a good case.

Which one is your favorite?
That white case is very sharp looking... What exactly is it? The blue one is nice as well with the perforated looking back.
That's the blue one

I had the Incipio case and just got the RINGKE Black Dot and so far I am in love with the RINGKE case. I don't drop my phone often but I do end up scratching it so I bought this simple case and have been pleased. i am interested in getting a NEO Hybrid, I had one for my S4 but it ended chipping my mid frame

how easy is it to crack the outer ring ??
use to diz tpu cases, but might venture to something else here.
slim armor, neo, ringke are on the list. need something soon, my wife and i have naked phones.
Which of the cases was the sleekest but added good protection?

I currently have the Ringke, the Spigen slim and the Spigen Neo Hybrid and I by far prefer the Ringke (blue one in OP's picture).
The grip is perfect, not too grippy and not too smooth, and it doesn't pick up oils and smudges from use as badly as the texture on the Spigen slim (black one in OP).
