[Q] Help upgrading from wingray omni 4.2.2 to omni KK 4.4.2 - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I rooted and upgraded my Xoom to omni wingray 4.2.2 which seems like a million years ago and has worked great! I am now looking to go to 4.4.2 primarily for restricted profiles but figured since this build looks to be pretty stable I might as well go for the latest and greatest. With that being said I am not sure if I need to repartition with BigPart and if what steps I need to do from the version I am at now. Any help would be immensely appreciated. Thanks!

Bump for help. Thanks.

Hi,
I didn't test, but there's a Omni 4.4.2 that works without BigPart .

When powered off hold down Volume down and Power button to go into bootloader.
Look at the top left of the screen and you will see a number. If this number starts with 10.6. then you should be fine.

Which stock firmware?

I have a Xoom WiFi which has the CM 10.x nightlies .
I am planning to give this Xoom to my mother. I don't want to give it with the nightlies firmware
Which stable firmware do you guys suggest? Also can I downgrade from 4.4.x to 4.1 ?
thanks
Motorola's website still has the stock, original firmware (I believe). I would use that if I were you, and then let it update to 4.1.2 (the last official update).
XOOM XOOM!
I used nightlies 10.1 CM for several months and it works great, do not change it works perfect, now I have the Omni 4.4.2 and is fabulous ....

CyanogenMod
CM 11 (Android KitKat) NIGHTLIES
CM 10.1 (Android 4.2 Jelly Bean) STABLE
CM 9 (Android 4.0 ICS) STABLE
CWM Based Recoveries
There are hundreds of roms available. It differs from person to person which roms he/she likes.
I personally like CyanogenMod. Just look here and find a rom.
Almost all threads have a guide how to install the rom. If you don't like the rom you just simply install another one.
If you want to get started, install CWM Recovery as listed above.

[Q] Beanstalk rom

Currently I'm using Beanstalk rom 4.4.4 and like all features. I appreciate the developers effort and have been used since android version 4.4.
Since then, I had a problem of using mVoIP based internet phone except Skype.
Is there anyone who has experienced same problem?

[Q] Best custom firware for original Galaxy S?

Hey guys,
I just sent my M8 away to be repaired (dropped it in the toilet ) and I won't get it back for 2-3 weeks. I gave my Galaxy S3 away about 6 months ago, so now I'm stuck with my original Galaxy S! This thing is so laggy it's pretty much unusable, it may as well be a stone tablet. I'm not expecting miracles here, but can someone recommend a custom rom that could make the next few weeks more bearable?
I'm using omnirom 5.1 lollipop.
Its fine with no gapps, as good as any kit kat ROM if slightly better IMHO.
With gapps minimal its pretty laggy.
But lollipop on this old work horse, its a miracle!!!
If you don't want the lag but want gapps try the latest McKay kit kat 4.4.4 ROMs, they are very good and don't lag with gapps installed.
I do not suggest cm11 because the the battery life was pretty c*** when I tested it
Get the latest omni rom 5.1 for i9000 from www.humberos.com.br
