i thought it get bootloops saw in sum Thread
thanx

I would recommend switching kernel to one that has init.d support because when I tried using Link2SD I got bootloopped and had to reflash using the PC Companion. I don't think that stock kernel has the init.d.

I think you should root your phone first then install a custom kernel, then you can be guaranteed root then
You can do that technically, however it may cause some problems, though you have a point. I now feel the urge to test it when I have access to my computer

Yup no problems on non rooted froyo. Tested using g3mod 2.4.1
Edit: bear in mind you will not be able to control cpu speeds anymore.

You Have To Root Your Phone To Customise Anything ! Without Root You Cant Do Anything !

I just tested, custom kernel boots fine on non rooted. U just can't change the cpu speed. Look at the post above yours

As far as I remember installing g3mod sets the governor to performance and speed to 800 mhz so it will heavily drain the battery

Superuser it's what gives you root access (overly simple answer before somebody yells that I'm not exactly right)

If your question is to find out if you are rooted or not, there is an app in the play store called Root Checker that will let you know if you have TRUE root access.

nice!
Although, I just thought about it, we could of just had him open SuperUser because it will tell him if it was unable to gain root access.

Is there either a superuser or super su app installed? There should be. Try going into whichever one you have and update binary, then rerun root checker and make sure you allow access when it asks for it

You only need one or the other, not both. Stick with whichever one came with the Rom. Go to the app and under settings choose update binary. If it asks for permission, grant it.
Delete whichever one you're not using.
And all custom ROMs on here are rooted

I've noticed with superuser I've sometimes needed to run the update a few times before it'll work.
If this has been a problem since you first flashed the ROM, I'd recommend doing a complete wipe of everything and reflashing the ROM

you are rooteed right? you should be able to install ac!d or viper 4 android or any other soundmod by using some kind of root browser like Root Explorer or Root Browser just check out the acid audio engine thread (i linked it in my previous thread) they should have instructions on how to install it manually
hope this helped

It kind of worked. I didn't find a way to install acid audio engine manually, but I managed to install Viper 4 android and it dosen't work with walkman so i have to use VLC. But I don't think there's an improvement of loudness. I might be wrong but I really want to try out acid and I just can't find a way

Anyone rooted using srsroot?

I found this when googling about root for xperia l.
Srsroot, a supposedly one click root http://www.srsroot.com
In their supported devices list, c1205 with latest firmware 15.3.A.0.26 is listed there.
Googled their name, in xda threas, it waa closed because they didn't give proper credits to other developers.
Nothing yet saying they're malicious or something (like vroot & kingo).
So..... Is it safe? Does it work?

By my understanding about vroot malicious issue is that the software take some info from ur phobe, n send it to some server somewhere, if that's the case, then yes, damage is already done.... I think..

What do you mean? You're assuming as a true fact that some info. from our phone has been sent to some server, or that's just a supposition of yours?

See if u guys who root using vroot has this camera app. But like said in the thread, that camera app itself still not confirm malicious or not, juz as a warning coz it came up after using vroot.
