When playing audio through bluetooth in my car, alerts like email and text messages just vibrate on the phone. Is this normal for this phone?
On other phones, i would get the sound alerts through the car speakers.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

I know on my HTC One X+ running sense 5.5 and Android 4.2.2 my device would just flash notification light. Maybe it did vibrate but wouldn't know, don't hold my phone in my hand or pocket while driving. I never got a ring or sound notification, only when an incoming call was coming in.
Ya, I just tested this again and all it does is vibrate no sound from the car speakers. I checked all the settings and everything is enabled, I had no issues on my S4 or iphone 5s with 7.1, so looks like its sense and the way it handles that. bummer

I can hear the sms notifications, alarms etc and the phone ringing without problem - when I am NOT using a headset.
But I most often have my headset attached to the phone - eventhough it is just laying on the desk. But if the headset is attached, I can only hear the phone ringing out loud. The sms notifications, alarms etc is ONLY heard through the headset.
Is there a way to hear the sms notifications, alarms etc from the phone loudspeaker, AND have the headset is attached as well??
You need to go into Bluetooth connection settings, and uncheck "wireless stereo".
Of course if you do that, you won't be able to hear music through the headphones, but that's why WM sucks. Nothing works as it should.
I've actually had the same problem. It's a shame you can't get the best of both worlds.
Is there a tweak that allows my HTC Fuze phone to ring when the phone is paired with at bluetooth headset? My phone sends the ringing to the headset and I dont have it on my ear all the time.
check the options in voice command. Sounds like you have it set to the default I think, which is "send sounds to bluetooth if available.
There are ones for phone, messaging etc...
Thanks, I will look into it.
Just wanted to see if any of you running the leaked FROYO rom for the mesmerize have come across this issue: when headphones/ear buds are plugged in to the phone for listening to media, and a text message arrives, the notification tone coming through the headphones/earbuds is very, very loud. I ran across this with this 2.2 build released here and did not experience this with 2.1.
If someone could verify that the notification tone coming through headphones/ear buds is painfully loud, I would appreciate it.
I talked to another user of 2.2 on his mesmerize and he experienced the same thing I did, however through bluetooth the notification volume level was fine.
Thanks!
Just did some resting with this. I didn't seem to have a extremely load volume on the notification. Have you checked the volume of your notifications in the setting? Try changing it and then send your self a text will listening to something thee the ear buds. I do some more testing.
Thank you for your reply.
Here's the story, in order for notification tones to be heard while the headphones are unplugged and in pocket, the notification volume has to be turned up pretty far, in turn when the headphones are plugged in, this makes the notification really loud, through the headphones. In order to avoid this problem, the notification level will have to be turned down every time the headphones are plugged in. With 2.1 the notification volume was reduced for the headphones even if the notification volume was maxed out.
Hope I make sense here. If you have your notifications volume maxed out are the notifications uncomfortably loud?
No there not. I'm also using ringing pro I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
Ok. What is ringing pro?

That was supposed to be ringo pro. It lets you set custom tones for text and voice
Been googling and searching the forum, but can only find people complaining that they WANT the notifications to play in their headphones, versus out the regular speaker, when their headset is plugged in.
Can I just say, be careful what you wish for?!
I have a rooted Huawei Ascend Mate 2 on 4.3. My problem is that I DON'T want the notifications coming through my headset. There seems to be nothing in the phone or sms settings to stop this. It sucks when I have the headset on and my normally silent notifications come BLARING in. It's so damn loud and startling. Any way to silence these? Everything on my device is always on silent, except my alarms.
In a meeting kept getting IMs, and the watch beeped every time. It was distracting and I was annoying people in the room so I pulled down the settings and clicked on the speaker icon. The symbol is now the speaker with the line through it but the sound is not Disabled !!!!!!
What can I be doing wrong ? In some situations it is inappropriate for the watch to make sounds but I can not turn sound off.
hello,
never happen to me, I will investigate and if possible give you feedback.
regards

Not sure if you are new in android. Android has 3 volume for adjustment. You need to control them one by one. You mute the media volume, but you will still get sound from notification, or ring.
Check out more audio option in the option menu, not the quick slide down icons.

It also has One Setting to turn the Speaker On and Off. This is what did not work yesterday.
Turn the Speaker off at the meeting on again when it ends. Easy if it worked
Looks like the App "Feel the Wear" was causing this issue.
The developer updated the app and now turning the speaker off mutes notifications.
