Hi,
I have problems with reboots. Every two or three days my phone restarts while in my pocket and I have to enter my pin before I can use it again. It happens since about two weeks.
The 14 firmware is installed and the phone is rooted.
Is there any possibility to look into some logs, to find out why this is happening?
Any help is welcome...

I'm using phantom kernel 4.5 +. 14 stock + pure performances X since Wednesday and finally my phone rocks. Before this combination, my phone restarted about 2 or 3 hours of use...

Ok, here is my story:
I bought that phone with firmware .31, unlocked bootloader and flashed vengeance kernel last summer.
Everything was fine.
After a long time with that combination i updated my phone to 4.2.2 .12 firmware and then to .14. (bootloader locked again with ta-backup, everytime with flashtool).
At the beginning my phone started every 30 minutes. After 4 or 5 tries flashing the .14 firmware (with pcc and flashtool) it was getting better.
Ne reboots at all. But now i have again problems with the reboots. Not, when its lying on the table, but when it is in my pocket (at least it seems so).
I have tried flashing another kernel (phantom 4.5), but nothing changed.
Now i am back on .27 JB 4.1 to check if it's better with that version.
Any suggestions?
KK?

Dude .. your problem 100% same like mine .. Put my phone in my pocket about 2~5mins and take it out from my pocket unlock phone and sudden reboot .. this problem only appear when put my phone in pocket .. reflash stock ftf and problem solve for me ..
I have done this many times.
Now I am back on 4.1.2 and it seems to be stable.

I have a very similar problem. When I get my phone from my pockets it shows me the 'shutting down'-dialog and then it just, well, shuts off. It happens at random moments. Reflashing the firmware fixes the problem always, but always temporarily.

Okay this is the 3rd time I m facing this issue..
I have to remove the battery and reinsert it to get it living ...
Anyone else wid this issue??
Mine is gt i9105p ... on xxamc2...
Nope, never faced this issue. I would suggest two things... upgrade to XXAMD1, if that doesn't work, reset your couter with Triangle Away and reclaim your warranty from Samsung.

um.... maybe you should try flashing another rom with Odin first.
there might be a system bug instead of hardware problems
i got same problem yesterday,i was on data mode with wechat and dialer running that time.
yes, my also hangs, new battery does not help, I tried about 5 ROMs with/without root 4.1.2, 4.2.2, I also tried other kernels, the undervoltage ones - it reset and hangs much more - so I assume it might be something to do with voltage on cpu on certain frequences
Same problem here. I've already taken my phone back to store for repairs twice and updated to 4.2.2, but still no change. It behaved nicely for a week since last repairs, but now it keeps restarting and powering off randomly.

Thanks. I will see if he wants to go to service again, or let me try to fix it. But better to ask them to downgrade for him, he did not have problems before 4.2.2 I think. And next solution would be CM.
Lol. Another solution is to buy another phone

Hey guys!
I've had my phone for a couple of moths and just a few days ago it started acting weird. When i lock and unlock the phone my screen is black, but the phone is on and "fully working". If someone calls me, the phone vibrates but the screen is still black. Only way to fix it is to reboot. Anyone had this issue or know any solution?
Thanks

Glad I saw this thread. I was thinking it was a kernel related issue. I'm rooted stock with Franco. I was having the issue a few times around r40 - r44. Updated to r45 the other day and haven't had any issues since.
The issue disappeared as soon as I updated to r47. Thanks, guys
Hey guys. I just got a replacement from Google cos my GPS was kinda acting weird.
Of course I rooted and unlocked it and put Mahdi ROM on it again. Everything is smooth.
Except of this: I try to explain it with an example.
E.G. I open the Facebook app. Use it for a few seconds or minutes and close it with the onscreen back button. Then all of a sudden there always seems to be other apps opened. Mostly it is Google Chrome.
(But not always. Can be any app)
Even tho I haven't even used these apps before. I even killed all apps before.
Is there something wrong that my Nexus opens ransom apps in the background? This is really odd and annoys me... Hope u guys can help me.
Oh well... I did a clean flash again. Still the same issue.
Hope for help

Who's to say what you're getting in return. Refurbished isn't new.
its a rom bug. i experienced it on early rastakat(the first 2 builds)..

I guess that issue must be caused by Mahdi ROM

I had this issue too on stock ROM under 4.4.2, and have had it on every ROM I've tried since (3 or 4 others). Currently having it under Mahdi under 4.4.3 too. Suspected it was a Nova Launcher thing for a while, but experienced under Google Experience Launcher as well.
Unfortunately have just learned to live with it, but would love if someone could figure this out.

why not try reverting back to stock to see if the issue goes away? i would either wait for a stable Mahdi ROM or try a different ROM.

I have the same issue on stock rooted 4.4.2 and 4.4.3, it's probably app related. I haven't attempted to narrow it down because it's not a bother to me.

I flashed the latest nightly yesterday. Everything was great. Then last night I had a total inability to make or receive phone calls. I thought it might just be an install issue so I did a reinstall and unfortunately same resuts. Im using radio m8974a-2.0.50.1.13..... is this the issue. It works perfectly on stock 4.4.3 and im rooted. I like the rom but need my phone to work. Any suggesions?

If relevant, does your carrier require anything special? (e.g. Sprint users need to flash a fix for APN or something, I wouldn't know as my carrier doesn't need anything)
Was it working at any point in time while on the ROM, or was it like that on first installation?

I use at&t it worked at first for about an hour then stopped. I think it has something to do with the new 4.4.3 stuff. 4.4.2 was fine.
BTW this also happened to a few people on another custom ROM when they went from 4.4.2 to .3. They had to revert to stop also.
