Dear all,
I am pleased to announce the release of Rainbow 1.0. Here is a brief description of this application:
The Rainbow application is a powerful tool to transfer (copy or delete) data from one cloud service to another, in three simple steps:
1) Select the source service.
2) Select the files that you want to transfer, and
3) Select the target service.
Rainbow supports the following five cloud services:
- Bitcasa
- Box
- Pogoplug
- OneDrive (old SkyDrive)
- Sugar Sync
Rainbow is free of charge, it runs on Android 2.3 and higher and you may download it from the Google Play
For those of you who own a Kindle device you can download it from Amazon
I am looking forward to your comments/ suggestions
Thank you
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ismartsolutions.Rainbow
Dear all,
I am pleased to inform you that version 1.1 is out. This version supports the Dropbox cloud service
Dear all,
I am pleased to inform you that version 1.2 is out. This version supports the Google Drive cloud service, and minor bugs are fixed
May I suggest to implement mega too on next version?
That would be great!
Thanks for your hard work!

I will definitely add the Mega service. Please be patient, however, because currently I am working on a new feature that you will find extremely useful.
Thank you for your feedback!
Amazing!

When I try to sign into google drive, after I sign in it asks for 2 step verification. When I switch to my authenticator app it removes my sign in data and I have to start the process all over. By the time I sign in, my code has expired. Therefore I have no way to sign into google drive
awesome app
app i have been waiting for months. thank you......
had request about mega. but you already answered it.
Hi the idea of this application is really, great but before I install it, could you please explain why do you need each permission please ? Because I dont see the interest for the geolocalisation ? (the other are quite simple to guess)
Thanks

You can use the option given in the Two Step Verification when you don't have Google Authneticator present. Here you can send the code to another mobile whose number you have configured or you can even send it to your own mobile and check your SMS easily.
Or, you can log in to your account from your mobile browser and select "Don't ask code on this computer again" and then log in from the app.
Another option: Go to the account settings page and take a printout of the codes for two step verification, or just note it down.

First of all thank you all for your nice feedback.
@chido, let me clarify that the GPS is not turned on, you will never see the GPS icon in the bar!! Because this app has ads, the advertisers require to have the ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION permission. This is purely because they want to serve better ads.
Here is the link to the Rainbow Privacy Policy There you will also find screenshots from the iOS version, and you can find a list of all the features that the Android version will soon have.
Please do not hesitate to contact me for any concerns that you may have
Hey there, 2 questions:
1.) Can I sync entire folders? Or individual files only.
2.) Does it use my device's network connection or do the files transfer from site-to-site using their own ftp?
G Cloud Backup
Hi there,
I sit possible for a near future release that would include GCloud Backup services ( https://www.gcloudbackup.com/ and/or https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.genie9.gcloudbackup&hl=en ) ?
TiA
Cheers

Does this tool download the file from source and then re-upload to target through your phone? Or does it do the transfer through some other online service and the data doesn't reach our phones?

Currently, you can transfer only files, but, as with the iOS version, you will be able to transfer folders too. I may add this feature in the next version
Since the cloud service do not offer this feature, the Rainbow app uses your network to transfer data.

Yes this is what it does. I am thinking of having a new version to transfer files through a third server so that you do not use your network connection. This will be useful to those who have a 3G (or 4G) connection

Yes I will add one, but in the meantime, I need to fix bugs that could occur when you transfer a file, add support to manage your folders, and add more cloud service.
@D108, I will contact the GCloud Backup services support team, and if it is possible I will add this service
@SaDiCuL, I will add this service in the next version
Thank you all for your feedback

Yes, as I said to @D108, I will contact their support team, and if it is possible I will add this service.
So far, you want me to add support for
Mega,
GCloud Backup,
iDrive,
and Mediafire service.
Is there any other service that you would like Rainbow to support?
Please, however, give me sometime to code (if it is possible) the support of any of these services.
Thank you
Can you add SmugMug so people could sync photo/video to Google and other services?
Woooooooooow! :good::good:

Update: They've just increased the base storage level to 15GB (or 20GB if you use my referral link)!
Copy.com is a new Dropbox competitor. It's backed by the Barracuda Networks people, so this one's going to be around a while.
You get 15GB free, and if you sign up using my referral, we both get 5GB of free additional storage.
It uses the Holo UI and there are no upload size limits! You can never have too much cloud storage, right?
<No referral ads on XDA please>
Thanks!
(I posted this in the general S4 apps forum, but I thought I'd post it here for us Sprint folks, in case some of you don't look at the other forum.)

Same theme but when I went back to stock to grab the MDL OTA, I actually entered my dropbox info at firstrun. Was in the sprint store the first time. Dropbox gave me "an additional 48GB" of space for registering the s4. No idea if this is wide spread or if I need to go get some scratch off tickets, b7t worth a try if you haven't already.

It's for all S4 owners as far as I can tell. But be aware that this additional fee space is for 2 years only. After that you'll either need to pony up to keep the space or delete files until you are back down to your pre - gratis48GB level. Still, 50GB of Dropbox for two years at no cost? I took it and ran.

Thanks for the tip. Looks good on the desktop side, like you said hard to have too much storage.
However on the phone app side I really DON'T like this part:
Your applications information
retrieve running apps
Allows the app to retrieve information about currently and recently running tasks. This may allow the app to discover information about which applications are used on the device.
Your social information
read your contacts
Allows the app to read data about your contacts stored on your device, including the frequency with which you've called, emailed, or communicated in other ways with specific individuals. This permission allows apps to save your contact data, and malicious apps may share contact data without your knowledge.
Just saying.
I stopped using copy as when you read the user agreement they indicate that they have the right to use your content as they wish.... Dropbox is still golden for me.

Could you point out where that is stated? The Copy.com terms look just like Dropbox's terms to me.

There's an "invite friends/contacts to share a folder" option within the app. It uses the contacts for that functionality.

And Dropbox: (https://www.dropbox.com/privacy):
Files. We collect and store the files you upload, download, or access with the Dropbox Service (“Files”). If you add a file to your Dropbox that has been previously uploaded by you or another user, we may associate all or a portion of the previous file with your account rather than storing a duplicate.

The key takeaway here is Dropbox and Copy are using the essentially the same language to do the same thing. I don't see anything different between the TOS of the 2 services. Of course you are consenting to let them copy and store your files. That's what a cloud storage provider does. And both of them use third parties to help provide services.

Dropbox does not say they will access (and save!) your contacts, calls messages and how many times you contact each. And when I installed Dropbox on my system it did not ask for permission to do so.
Read the differences in the permissions tab: Copy VS Dropbox https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dropbox.android&hl=en
I see a huge difference one specifically says they can/will save your social contact and stats - that one is copy.
Again it's a choice to use the service or not I was just bring it up because it's so glaring and I don't/haven't installed apps that do that.

This, and any other, app that allows you to share information with your contacts will have that permission (and corresponding description) in its manifest (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, Gmail, Box, Pocket, AirDroid, SoundCloud, EverNote).
I don't see any cause for concern, but everyone's tin foil hat is sized differently. :highfive:

Authenticator Plus in Press
I was super excited to find this application. It solves my biggest grievances with Google Authenticator, and does it in a way that is largely invisible to the user (until it matters!). -techThreads

It's mind-blowing that Google's own Authenticator on its own Android platform lacks the feature to re-order the account entries, while the iOS version does support this.
And also mind-blowing that it lacks PIN control, any option to sync/ backup, and several of the other highly desirable (even necessary!) features which Mufri has built-in to the Authenticator Plus app.
I've also been pleased by Mufri's responsiveness and willingness to work to make the app have only the needed permissions. We've exchanged several detailed technical and philosophical messages; it's very nice to see yet another developer devoted to our community.
I can't make any claims about the security of the app as I'm not a developer (well, haven't been since twenty years ago) and I lack the tools, but I hope that others with more skills than I have will analyze the app and can confirm the app's health so the app can be established as a much better reference than Google's own minimally featured Authenticator, and that we can get Mufri lots of users!
Thanks Mufri,
-Jay

This APK is version 1.3
(Latest is 2.9.x, a lot of development has been done in this year as it seems!)
I downloaded the APK to try it out.
It first works when it is installed and I was able to import my accounts from the original Google Authenticator.
Then I closed the app.
I can open it again but the keyboard pops up saying "sign in" (where usually the "enter" button is).
Even when I enter the correct passphrase it shows only an empty app without the codes.
I can also install and add the import plugin but then I don't see the codes anymore.
Used on: CM 10.2 and CM11.
Very strange...
i just installed the app and i have some issues. first of all i would like the option to not choose a passphrase to open the app, but well thats not a big problem. after i choose a passphrase and set the app up and want to start it again it just shows me the header with the logo of the app but everything else is blank, there is no password field to type in the selected password and even if i type it in, without anything showing, it doesnt open the app. i can just use it once and thats it
also import from google authenticator doesnt work. it tells me no root or script not in xbin. well its all there. the problem is probably root, because the dialogue to grant root never shows up. I try to get it now manually granted but still that doesnt help if i can start the app only once :/
I am on a galaxy note 3. hope someone can help me...
Yes, attached APK was outdated, I have removed it now.

Compatibility with Pebble Smartwaches
Hi !
Has anyone tried to use Authenticator Plus with a Pebble smartwach, through Android Wear integration ?
I'll get an Pebble Time in May and hope it will work with it, that's why I'm asking for a clue
Interesting, I never heard of anyone tried it, let me know how it goes .
Store site order in cloud sync?
I use Authenticator Plus with cloud sync via Google Drive.
It seems that the order in which I have the accounts in Authenticator Plus does NOT get sync'd to the cloud (or, if it does get sync'd up, then when the sites are imported back down from the cloud, the order is not maintained).
Can the author comment please?
thanks,
Jay
from last release(3.3.5), app shows more details about sync status in Settings -> Cloud -> last sync status and let me know, what's the last status.

Pebble don't get it working through Android Wear, I think a layer is missing, maybe like an "emulator" (not the way Google implemented it) that can send other things but notifications to Pebble (it's the only thing supported for now).
Anyway, IMO for Authenticator Plus it will requires an Pebble OS app and a modification to makes it work as a companion.
Hi,
I would like to add a Battle.net account but the app fails to connect to battle.net server, is this something you can fix ?
edit : and do you think you can add Steam support in future release ?
Same problem with the battle.net server. No matter if I try it at home or at work or via LTE.
Since the Blizzard battle.net Authenticator works and I can access the battle.net site without any problem I suspect a problem with the Authenticator+ App. Syncing time with battle.net is also not working btw (in the settings)
Is the app working in 6.0? If Yes, could u send me a trial?

I guess he's implying that russian services cannot be trusted despite the fact it's the services of USA that spies on just about everything people do.
Thanks for the tip!
Sweet 100 GB...and for free. NSA can spy all they want in that cloud, same goes for the FSB. I'll just keep my "less" sensitive stuff on this cloud.
After I signd up the these 100 GB, I wanted to see if I could find something even bigger...well 10 TB from Weiyun did the trick. Althou it's a tad more tricky to get signed up, it is possible to do so (firsthand experience) A good deal of the registration and UI of the cloud storage is capable of english. The android software lacks I'm afraid.

Hello everyone,
First I apologize if this is not a proper thread for this post
I've been working on an app that brings MEGA cloud access to android devices. Initial version of the app I've created was one of the first apps on the google play store but, working on it alone and having in mind bad API documentation they provided it took me a while to make some progress.
Currently, there are plenty of apps that one can use to upload/download content to and from the cloud using your android device so I focused on automated synchronization.
Basically, app I've created lets you choose any directory on your cloud account and sync it to your phone, also you can sync any folder from your device to the cloud. There are options to choose weather you want to resync deleted files or files that changed in size and edit date.
Sadly I am not allowed to post links, in order to check the app out search for "MEGA Storage Manager" on google play.
If you have a suggestion, or find a bug, feel free to post it here or email me at [email protected].
Regards

Regards

Sounds interesting. Did anybody tried it already? Are there any restrictions (i.e. root, android version ...)?

Hello,
There are no special privilege level requirements, users with rooted devices can leverage the app to backup their titanium backup folders or whatever other use-cases people have...
Regards
I made this app for my own needs a few years ago. Then I decided to publish this app so others can use 'cause it might be convenient in some situations
This app will forever be free with no ads. I hope people would tell me how to improve this.
* ROOT access is REQUIRED*
This app use Root permission to access the connected wifi list from your system to list them out for you in case you forgot a wifi password and/or you want to share with others.
It also allow you to save that list to you local storage/SDCard or sync it to cloud storage.
Cloud backup use private App Folder on *your own* Google Drive account to save data. Even you cannot browse it by yourself (you still can delete it). Currently, this app only support restoring from Cloud.
In summary:
- View connected wifi lists with password
- Save Wifi list to storage/SDCard
- Sync/Backup Wifi list to Cloud
- Restore wifi list from Cloud
- Copy wifi password to clipboard by long-press wifi item on the list.

Cheers!

Great job, dear. To load up on Google Drive, do you uses the Drive API?
You have a private message.
Could you help me show the password on my s7 edge? It shows a weird character instead of its true password. I really love the design and feature (i.e. ad free!). Thanks!

yes, it's encrypted. BTW, I don't have any Samsung device to find a solution
Please update to oreo
I'm trying to use it on 8.1 and what's strange is that it uploads to the cloud just fine from my old phone, and the new phone can see (in the app) the passwords on the cloud, but when I choose "sync", the new phone's local wifi list does not change. Is there some specific instructions I need to follow? I've given it root access and selected "sync" on my new phone from all three locations (all/cloud/local).
