[Q] Emmc error? Skanob can you help pls?

Hi Buddy,
I was wondering if you could spare a moment to offer some advice?
I saw your post with regard to the above error with associated distinctive log;
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
I have tried everything and git a brick wall. Tried to delete data/partitions re flash with custome ROM and stock Ruu and just receive 'Install error status 1' error.
As for my Ruu install efforts I can't even get the exe to run, I have phone connected to pc in Hboot usb mode, and it just bombs out with generic xp error.
I've also tried to do a factory reset, with no joy.
Any ideas or advice on what I can do now or how I can install and choose the correct Ruu. I'm on Orange uk but there's no logo branding on phone output.
Also could you explain the ext 4 step in your fix, is it pertinent to me?
Here's hoping.................
How did it happen? What did you do before it started to show that?
its just corupted cache partition....please use search its annoying to post same posts all the time..u can recover u phone but u realy need to search topics in Q&A and general section
You need to help us to help you.
What ROM, HBOOT version were/are you on....what were you doing before/when the problem occurred? etc....and as suggested above read a little this issue is covered many time already
Hi,
Thanks for the responses. I have read QAs and threads and have hit a brick wall. I didn't really want to post again in here but I cannot send private messages for some reason hence mentioning Skanob in title.
He visits this forum frequently and has a potential fix for this so I was trying to get his attention.
Any thoughts appreciated though.
Synopsis;
HBOOT 6.98.1002
CWM V4.0.1.4
* S-offed, Rooted installed Revolutinary recovery
*Flashed Hydrogen v1.9 saga v3
* 3 weeks later it started to lag on boot then ultimately crashed with frozen HTC green logo
*Did some research, tried to re-flash ROM after wiping cache, data etc, formatting system/date etc and just received install (status 1) errors and the above can't mount cache etc already mentioned.
* Tried factory reset, the data wipe completes then the 'distinctive parttiton corruption' log at start of thread, appears in recovery.
* Factory reset freezes when executed via on bootloader screen
*I've tried already...
1 Boot into recovery
2 Format System (don't wipe it)
3 Format Data
4 Format Cache then Format Boot
5 Wipe Data/Factory Reset
6 Wipe Dalvik Cache
7 Install the zip from SD card and flash the ROM
8 Reboot
My research suggests corrupt partition file or defective emmc chip.
Cheers
Look in the INDEX Thread sticky in development section, at the bottom off post one of that is a section on this error and a fee possible fixes, links to several threads

[Q] How to solve when I see "E:unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]"?

Based on the previous questions, I found the reason for the error message "E:unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]"
It's still wiping dalvik just not EXT dalvik because sd isn't partitioned.
The problem is that I can't find the solution for this problem. Anyone knows what needs to be done?
Update twrp
U may have to backup sdcard, format and restore
This isn't a problem. You can safely ignore.

Please give thoughts on strange errors

I am getting this error all of the sudden and am completely unable to get into google play. gmail works fine so I am logged into my google account on the phone. I flashed a camera mod and now actually I am realizing that both the camera and google play do not work
actually as I type this now I realize that the internal sd card is not being recognized by the phone so i went into recovery and try to mount it and it fails I get the whole E: Unable to mount and i tried to wipe dalvik and I get failed to wipe dalvik
Please Help

[Q] E: unknown volume for path [/ sd-ext].

help me,, my phone galaxy y GT-S5360 error ..
when I will upgrade to 4.4 kitkat, I headed to wipe Dalvik cache, and the message E: unknown volume for path [/ sd-ext].
how to solve it??
probably due to the error message, my phone is expandable only appear after screenshot SAMSUNG GALAXY Y only.
I put cwm-5.0.2.6
rom cynocream v4 and white 1.3.3 kernel .
As far as I understand it, that's no real error-message. When whiping Dalvik cache CWM is trying to wipe an extended partition on your sd-card. This partition can for example be created when using App2SD. If you don't use App2SD and don't have this partition CWM doesn't find it and complains about it but this should be nothing to worry about.

Error Mounting XT1032

So, I wanted to install a custom ROM, but somewhere along the way something went wrong and I got stuck in a bootloop, I've been reading up on some threads and I followed some steps that were supposed to fix it, but I feel like I'm in even more trouble now (Well, my phone is still alive so I still have hope but yeah..)
Anyways, I'm using Philz custom recovery now, I tried to do a wipe to install a new or stock ROM, at first it said the wipe was succesful, so I tried installing the ROM, but during the install I kept getting:
E: Error mounting /data
It did say the installation was succesful, but after I rebooted it kept trying to wipe eventhough I did not ask for this.
Got another mount error and said Wipe Failed.
Now when I try to sideload stock ROM I get errors like:
Formatting Cache
Formatting /sd-exxt
E: Uknown volume for path /sd-ex
(I also don't know why it's doing that since this phone has no SD card) I got the Falcon edition with the internal storage. Also when my computer recognizes my phone and I want to open the phone folder, there is no longer an Internal Storage folder.
Anyways after those errors it says Data Wipe Complete, Wiping System, Now flash new ROM
But nothing flashes properly it seems due to the mounting error. I've looked for solution, but I can only seem to find threads that involve Samsung
and when I find a solution video it has something to do with either taking your battery out of your phone (which you can't do with this phone) or something
with your SD card (which this phone doesn't have).
So yeah, I'm running out of ideas here and any help would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers.

The phone has a virtual SD card.
I had a similar issue. Try flashing TWRP recovery and go to wipe > format data (THIS WILL DELETE ALL DATA) then reboot recovery. Worth a shot if you're not able to use your phone. You can copy over SD card contents to a computer first via TWRP by mounting MTP, or use USB OTG..
