What is the alternative or an easier way for installing ota updates on rooted nexus 5, other than flashing with a rooted updates ota image in recovery?

that is the best answer ever.
So I finally desided to root my nexus 5. I used this tutorial Youtube-Qbking77-How to root nexus 5 ( simply because he demonstrated it on windows )
But when the CMD window pops up all it say is " <Waiting for device> "
What should i do? Please help
