[Q] Good phone for a music player? - General Questions and Answers

I need a phone that is compatible with 64gb SDXCs. I was looking at the Nokia Lumia 520, but I'm not sure how good Windows 8 phones are for that. I would use Android but only newer phones like the SIII and up can use 64gb, while others only do up to 32gb and are hit and miss with 64gb. Then there's iOS, which is nice but way too expensive. So should I settle for the Lumia 520, or should I save up and wait a bit for an Android/iOS device?

I mean..
>500MHz
720x480 x 24bpp screen
integrated storage >8GB
Windows Mobile 6
WCDMA and GSM
and it starts at $195?
is this some kind of fantasy?
It is real, but it is far from $195, closer to $800. According to them it is scheduled to come out in December but you won't see it until next year.
May i remind you that i've never heard of Meizu before, its a newcomer, expect bugs and even shortcuts...

Meizu has been making MP3 players ( http://en.meizu.com/ ) for 4 years, but that's true: they hasn't made any Windows CE based device ever, until now.
I supose this Phone has Windows CE 6.0 Core, and own GUI so it can be uncompatible with Windows Mobile 6 stuff (CE 5.2)
They are offering another Iphone clone for 169 Euros in the NL. The CECT Clone. So the pricing could be correct.
This will run probably CE 5.2 so we can take all the goodies we have to this phone and from this phone!

Yes, As I read it doesn't run WM6 but Windows CE 6.0 under a special miniOne GUI so it can't run conventional Pocket PC apps. Unless the miniOne GUI only an app which runs on WM6 but I haven't read about this anywhere, so it isn't likely.
It can run most PPC apps, that's real.
Yeah, multitouch and USB Host / Client
now that's what i call an iPhone killer :O
the functions / ui of the apple phone + the things i love about wm (great community, so much programs, etc.)
I just stopped into a Meizu store today (I live in china) and saw this phone and heard of it for the first time. It looks very cool though. The price is around $350 US and has 8GB and is multi-touch. I think I want one
it definitely looks as the best PMP player and phone together.
if only it could run WM apps, it would rock..
Apps on Meizu
I got my hands on one of these devices and it is pretty slick. There are still lots of bugs in the os, but new versions are still being put out there. It sucks that it does not run WM apps. I have found 2 that work. Coreplayer and TCPMP run well on it, but really are not needed because the integrated player works well.
I am hoping someone will develop a Windows Mobile rom that will run on this device. It would really rock.
i really want this phone. It may not be an HTC phone but Meizu has some big potential.

you all should look at www.meizume.com
it rocks or not
have seen this Phone
before i am out
to buy my HTC TP2
in some Onlinestore`s
the Technical Data Rocks,
soo i ll say ,
but think, its a big Problem,
with runing, all the Win CE / WIMO
Software, and on a lot of Threads i
read, that the Bugs almost not
solved from one to another Firmware
they always only put
only new Options in
and didnt Solve the Bugs
USB Host OTG i am not sure that is implemtet,
and TV Out, also too not implementet yet.
will wait and give Meizu
a Chance to come with a good Concept !
Stable and Bugfree Sortware and OS

Advice req'd please chaps...

Hi all, after having learned my basics with a 7" android tablet (chinese 'versus' A10 clone), I'm now looking for a new 7" android tablet(I dropped my versus tab its now scrap.....)
I'd like some advice/opinions on choices, I'll list a few wants and dont wants:
Doesnt have to have sim/phone facility, only really need wireless connectivity.
Would like expandability with an SD card.
Decent performance and pref JB 4.1+ ROM/OS
would like usb connectivity.
Narrowed down to possibly nexus or samsung tab.
All/any thoughts welcome.
Many Thanks
Jon
PS I'm in the UK, any suggestions for best place to buy?

I'm partial to my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7", but nothing against Nexus. I'm running stock JB 4.1.1 ATM. Mine is a WIFI only model ( GT-P3113 ). Inbuilt 8 GB storage with a maximum 32 GB sdcard, which I have . Dual core 1.1 ghz processor. Darn thing is pretty quick.
I live in the US, so I really cannot recommend anywhere to purchase one. Sorry.
My suggestion is the Nexus line, so the Nexus 7. The Nexus is one of the best tabs on the market, and if I had the money I would have a Nexus 7 *and* Nexus 10. They are amazing tablets, and one of the benefits of being made by Google is updates. AFAIK the Nexus 7/10 already have the 4.2.2 update *officially* which is a big plus in my book.
I also live in the US, so can't really recommend anywhere special beyond Best Buy or Amazon.

Thanks for the feedback! .Jon
We have both a Samsung Tab 2 7" and a Nexus 7 in our family. I think you'd be happy with either one. I use the Tab 2 and am very happy with it. Don't think you can go wrong either way. Tab 2 advantage is SD card, Nexus advantage is updates. For me the SD card is more important. As always depending on your use (you want to stock alot of movies or other) the Tab 2 might be the way to go

Problems with games on Windows Phone 8 Nokia Lumia

Problems with games on Windows Phone 8 Nokia Lumia
Hello I have a Nokia Lumia 620, and tried to install a game called Lets Golf 2 version 1.3.0.0 by the method developer what happens is that when you finished installing and everything, I'll play the game and simply service begins is black screen and comes back, I've tried everything and I can not solve the problem, does anyone know help me with this problem is the same and I realized that the site does not have a straight section for Lumia 620, 720 and 520, could create it has many Brazilians who have these devices and do not stir it has sites with accurate information ....
There is one more thing already has news of some jailbreak for Windows Phone 8, especially the line of Nokia Lumia?
Thank you for your attention
i personally have installed it and everything works right don't know the version though. As for jail-breaking the phone its not called jail-breaking that's for apple. Its simply called unlocking and no one has been able to yet. when there is a way the development part of the forum on the windows 8 would light up with roms and explanations on how to unlock the Nokia phones. Im waiting on it too and as with many others.

full windows or android tablet!?

Hey there! Hmm.... Well i've used a lot of android devices starting with Samsung galaxy Mini then HTC One X to Samsung galaxy S4 and ending with HTC One which i still own and love a lot.. so im not new to amdroid and i really like the system so much. I decided to by a tablet and samsung galaxy tab s 8.4 was the one till i saw dell venue 8 pro in a review. I really cant decide which is better choice for everyday use like surfing web and watching movies... May be few photo edit ( I used to use photoshop touch on android perfectly and had no problems with selections even on my 4.7" screen )? What i really like on the venue is that i can run programs like visual studio on the run and its easy to go with.... A full computer but im afraid of windows on a screen small in size! Also i have a nice laptop so i want ur opinion about a good tablet not a laptop replacement!
Simply Windows vs android, who wins? Ty in advance
Good question. As a windows user I would prefer that. What s the price difference?

I would suggest that you go with Windows since you are going to use it with programs like PS. On the other hand you are a proficient user of Android OS and you are used to controls.
Break it this way:
Price = you can save on the device to invest money in new apps
Performance = spend a little more on the device and save some time while waiting apps to respond your actions

Ok, so here you go. If you think that both devices will be performing well enough for you in terms of RAM, ROM ,CPU and GPU then I would suggest you to go with Galaxy Tab S 8.4. For me Dell Venue has not enough resolution with 1280 x 800 at ONLY 189ppi. I think that if you are doing some creative work with pictures or videos then Galaxy's massive 1600 x 2560 Pixel, 360ppi will give you a huge advantage in terms of reviewing your work.
Personally I am not fan of tablets, so I consider Tablet as a waste of money. In case if you will be using tablet as a tool for presenting your portfolio (perse) then I will consider this as an investment towards your future.
