Why doesn't the technology exist?
Each device has a unique ID and are paired together.
Why isn't there a way to have an android device paid simultaniously to two bluetooth headsets?
Scenario:
I'm on a plane and want to watch a movie with another person on my phone. We have 2 pairs of bluetooth headphones. We pair both to the device and BAM we're watching the movie and hearing the audio.
I have seen splitters in the amazon market, but why do we even need these AND would they actually work??

I have a HTC Touch which I am currently using the Pocket Player software to stream my music from my PC which is located upstairs. I can connect the Touch to my Stereo amplifier through a USB/Jack cable and play the music through my Hifi speakers rather than headphones but I was wondering if it would be possible for me to transmit the audio to my amplifier by way of Bluetooth. It would cerntainly allow me the freedom of changing tracks on my phone sitting in my armchair rather than sat next to my amplifier through a cable. I.E Streaming music from my PC through Wi-FI, via my HTC Touch through bluetooth.
Hope this makes sense. Has anyone done it and is there a noticible difference in sound quality when sending music by bluetooth rather than a wired connection.
I have seen various Bluetooth type devices on ebay and amazon that claim to do this type of thing but as I have never tried Bluetooth I am a little sceptical and not sure exactly what is required. I assume that as my Touch can send Bluetooth beam I would only need a reciever to connect the Jack plug from my amp, is this correct? Or would it be better to buy a jack transmitter/receiver for the job.
I don't want to spend a whole lot of money doing this just to test so can anyone recomend a device.

i use this device:
http://www.itechdynamic.com/en/products_spec.asp?cid=6&pid=06020 it's by itech and it's called bluecon35. the picture shows the black unit but i have the white one =) the 3.5mm jack is connected to the aux plug of my amplifier. my stereo system combined with the speakers are then also connected. from there, the bluecon is paired via bluetooth to my x7500. this gives me the luxury of changing track, albums, volume, etc. basically all the music is streamed to my amplifier via the bluecon. with regards to the quality, i would say it's quite good. i don't hear "noise" or static in the background...nor are there jumps or pauses in the connection. everything is just fine except that i'm using a much better set of speakers as compared to headphones.
disadvantages:
- if you listen to your sounds like for 8 hours, then you could have a problem. the battery life of bluecon is around and doesn't have an external power source that allows it to play even when paired. i read that itech is planning to come out with a new similar bt device but this time it's also plugged to the wall socket or a car charger. no idea when that will be
- a minor detail is that if you receive a call, an sms or your phone has an alarm for an event then these sounds are streamed into the amplifier as well.
cost? i got it from thailand and it was for 2000 baht....that's around 63 usd (based on a 32baht to dollar exchange rate).

I use a pinnacle soundbridge, which cost under £50, and it plugs into your hi-fi and streams music from your pc over your wireless network. It can be controlled using the ir remote control, or your pda can access it over wi-fi to control it. As well as streaming from you pc, you can also use it to listen to internet radio.
Thanks for the advice guys. Robson, the Bluetooth receiver is a possibility however after googling it I found a couple of bad reviews. Some people seem to have a problem connecting their devices to it and others have said it has trouble with streaming MP3's over 192kbps. I will look into this further.
Jez83uk, the Pinnacle Soundbridge looks like a really good idea. Is it differcult to set up with a PDA and will it connect to my PC through a wireless router.
Also were would you recomend picking one up for under £50.

Mine was £39.99 at ebuyer.com, but looking around a few websites they seem to be out of stock everywhere, google products. I recommend keeping an eye on ebay if you're interested in getting one. I have mine connected through a wireless router, and setup was extremely easy. You need to run a media server- I use firefly, but I believe that itunes or windows media player 11 can do the same thing. PDA control is just a case of installing two cab files for a package called visualmr. Hope this helps you.

...was originally only advertised as working with the supplied dongle for earlier ipods, which is how i used to use it, but i discovered it works great with A2DP too. should be v cheap on ebay...

I have a Diamond, and a cardo rider Q2 for my motorbike helmet. They pair up nicely for phone calls, but I cannot get music to stream to the helmet.
All other functions work fine. If I press a button on the phone the sound of the button comes through.
The annoying thing is that my friend has a N95 and it works just fine, so I know the headset is capable.
Is there some setting that I need to change? Or a download to fix this?
Any help would be appreciated. And please take it easy on me as I am not very capable with technology.

Double click on the icon of the paired headphones on the bluetooth screen and make sure that Wireless Stereo is ticked.
The system is using two profiles- one for phone calls (headphones) and the other for music (Wireless Stereo). Yout helmet BT earphones should be able to switch in between as long as they are enabled.

When I do that it only gives me the option of "hands free".
If I plug in my wired HTC head phones while maintaining the blue tooth connection to my helmet and play music the music comes through the wired headset, but when I try to voice activate an outgoing phone call the music changes from the wired headset to the bluetooth headset temporarily.

But like you the TD only registers 'hands free', I have checked the profile in BT and it only shows hands free, there is no BT Stereo box to tick/untick. I have tried installing/uninstalling and using a third party BT program (recommend in a previous thread) and have just upgraded to the new official Rom all to no avail.
I think the TD likes some stereo headset's but sees some others as just a mono handsfree unit.

I have the same Jabra 320's... finally got them working as Wireless stereo pressing the main button again and again during pairing... I didn't know it was going to work - It was out of frustration!!!
I tried several times with my 320's (deleted, re-installed, tried different ways/software) all to no avail.
There is a software upgrade for the 320's on the Jabra site but you need a special usb connector to flash the unit.
In the end I picked up the newer BT3030 cheaply on e-bay and they were recognised straight away as Handsfree and stereo BT streaming.
Both the 320's and 3030's have the A2DP profile, so not sure why the don't see the 320's correctly?
So happily cycling to work again with the BT3030 and listening to BT stereo.
In order for you to do what you want your headset must support A2DP Bluetooth profile (and even if it does it may not work!). That is the profile needed to send stereo music from the HTC. Most handsfree units do not do that - they just support headset and handset Bluetooth profiles.
There is a utility available called BTMusic that can be downloaded free from here. This will allow music to be sent using the headset or handset Bluetooth profiles, and it worked with my Parrot car kit, so it may work for you. The problem is that it is mono only and the quality of the sound is not brilliant - after all these profiles were never designed for that.
So the alternative is to find a new headset that supports both handsfree and A2DP profiles and works with both.
umm yea... i went through EVERY SINGLE thread this thing has. none of the programs work for me period.
I was just wondering is there a way you connect 2 bluetooth headsets at once because while i was browsing i came across a program that allows you to listen to all sound that runs through your phone. Which since i gave up bluetooth headsets, i cant verify if it works. But if it does, instead of buying those (big) bluetooth stereo headset or those (wired) stereo bluetooth heaset, I can just use small wireless normal bluetooth headsets.
Honestly, buying a good pair of regular headsets to listen to music or other quailty sound on will cost you MUCH more than buying 1 normal A2DP supporting ones (unless you already have 2 headsets )
i thought this was goint to be a request to share music via 2 stereo BT headsets. Now that would be useful.
By default, you can't connect 2 headsets to your device at the same time.
sharing audio between 2 different headsets would be even harder than running 2 mono ones at the same time.
you're invited to develop this idea a bit further and suggest a development in the Dev&Hack section. hopefully, someone would go for it.
Hi, unfortunately i wouldn't know where to start with this and as i don't have a BT stereo head set, it's not something i would actually find a use for. Don't really use my Trinity for audio, it was easier to just get a large iPod, apologies for bad language , and use that.

you can connect to 2 bt headsets but only to differentiate their settings. one would be in handsfree mode while the other in wireless headset mode. but sharing both settings (e.g. handsfree, thus sharing the audio) is not possible. the moment you bond the second bt headset, it severes the first one's connection.

i highly doubt it, those types of bluetooth earpieces are designed specifically for talking and as far as i know do not support stereo sound.
if you want to listen to music through bluetooth headphones you have to go out and purchase a pair of MotorROKR S9 headphones

i own a pair and they are wicked for listening to music, although i'm not a fan of the earbud types of headphones and if you don't have the right sized head they wont fit properly, however they do support stereo sound for music. another point about them, they suck for taking phone calls and talking with them, they pick up way too much background noise, i only use them for music.
The only other alternative would be the logitech type, which i believe are more expensive but same idea. and they're not earbuds which appeals to me, i only bought the motorola type cuz they had been reduced to half as much as i remembered them being when i used to work for best buy lol.

Looking at the product info on the site, these do come with an adapter for any other music device with a jack plug-in that doesn't have built in bluetooth.
Hello. I am really struggling....I need a over the ear bluetooth headset which supports A2DP. I don't want any solution which implies earphones...like jabra BT3030 or any similar 'a2dp' box where you can connect your earphones through 3.5mm jack.
So it seems really impossible to find a normal headset which can send me (for exemple) sounds from the games I play on android while on the bus while remaining available to phone calls without switching headsets.
I googled a lot. I found jabra Bt530, bt8040, jabra extreme, there is a jabra 8010 hard to find which costs a kidney....
is there anything CHEAP that can do the job? The items listed above cost really too much for what they are. And I repeat, I am really not interested in those solutions where you need to use wired earphones with the bluetooth adapter...there is no point of having a bluetooth headset if you anyway have to have wires all over your jacket...
I actually just found an application (bluetooth switcher) that can send every sound from the phone to any bluetooth headset! In my case, I was wearing a gioteck EX-02 (it is a PS3 headset).
Well it is a nice solution...although this headset doesn't have a call button to answer the calls....but yeah I can have music and games on this non-A2DP headset! Wonderful!
I'll wait for your replies though...sure I am missing something...

thank you for the reply. yes your answers are a good alternative...unfortunately the headsets linked are pretty expensive for what they offer...I think I'll stick with my Gioteck EX-02 which i can use with both the ps3 and the mobile phone...now that I have found this application on android that can redirect every sound to a normal non-A2DP headset, I don't need a new headset with A2DP protocol.
As soon as I get a chance, though, I'll compare the quality: I don't know if it's the headset itself, the bluetooth transmission of my phone, or the low quality broadcast by the android application that redirects the sounds....but the sounds in games don't sound really wonderful. I'll have to check this as soon as I get the chance to try a 'real' A2DP headset.
