[Q] [KK] [Phantom v7] [Thunderzap v4.1 r-2] [and other Kernels]: Wifi not working - Sony Xperia L

Hi everyone! I have tried a lot of things with my phone. Firstly I installed AOSPA 4.0 beta 6, then I tried with CM 11, but it doesn't work. After that I tried SlimKat, but the no recovery convinced me not to continue with it.
Now I have the system.img of CM11 (23FEB), the userdata.img of SlimKat and finally the boot.img of AOSPA (with CWM)
Like I have just said, I had a recovery :good:, but, when I try to install a Kernel:
Phantom v7
or
Thunderzap v4.1 r-2
Wifi is not Working anymore!!!
Please I will admire f you can find a solution for this problem.
And that's all folks!
(Sorry for my bad english, I'm Spanish )

Just flash kernel.zip with recovery and wifi will work.
Steps:
1.Download preferred kernel
2.Copy "preferred kernel".zip to your sdcard
3.Reboot to recovery
4.Install zip from internal/external(depend on where you copy it) SD > find "preferred kernel".zip
5.Flash it and Reboot

Done it but the problem is still there!

Yes, is what I have just done every time that I installed a Kernel, but it didn't work! :crying:

Nobody knows how to solve it? It happens on every kernel and I have tried a lot of fixes and non working WiFi continues!

What you mean with a clean install...? In mine case I have installed CM11 system and userdata and boot from AOSPA 4.0 beta 6 (due to it has CWM 6) and then I installed Phantom v7 KK
Thanks in advance!
Sent from my C2105 using xda app-developers app

Clean install in the sense you try flashing KitKat again. And this time try all from cm or aospa

Yeah I know I know and that is what I have just done each time that I have changed my ROM!
Thanks equally!

Time and hanging issue

I am Using FXP 323, also tried Carbon nightly.
cwm 11..
with Both roms, I have faced several bugs like .. whenever i rebooted my handset, time was always changed and i had to either manually correct the time or had to connect to Wifi (if available).
secondly, many times the set was turned off and when i restarted, it stucked at booting and i have to remove battery and reinstall the rom again reboot.
anyone else facing these issues or its just me ?
please Guide how to resolve these issues ?
Hi there
I recommend you to have clean install..usually clean installs solve most of the problems.. Also try using phantom 8.7 or thunderzap 4.5 kernel.. Both are equally good..

These are the steps that i have followed and it worked.. I am not an expert though.
1. Flash the latest ftf file
2. Extract the boot img and flash it via fast boot by flashtool
3. Enter recovery and clear caches
4. Flash the zip file of cm and also the necessary addons ( gapps, graphic glitch fix, custom kernel) and clear dalvic cache and cache.
5. Reboot ..done

[Q] Help with Rooting, Installing Custom ROMs & Flashing Kernels for Micromax A110

[Q] Help with Rooting, Installing Custom ROMs & Flashing Kernels for Micromax A110
Hello people
i am new to xda and i know very few things about rooting & stuff .
i needed help as a newbie from the existing members , i will be glad if u helped me .
i have a rooted micromax a110 (ICS 4.04 ) and with CWM installed . i have seen all the roms in XDA (for a110) and i wish to install custom rom on my device , but i am confused with certain things such as :
1. Is installing kernel necesarry after installing custom roms ? because in some posts i found kernel files which are to be flashed and in some post there are no kernel files so does that mean we dont have to install kernel ?
see this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2238818 i desire to install this rom on my device
2. First we need to intsall custom roms & then kernels or first kernels & then roms ?
3. Is it safe that i keep switching between roms in every 1 week or 2 weeks ?
4. What happens when i have a custom rom installed and i do a factory reset from setting ? does the device load the custom rom or just stucks on the bootloader ?
Thanks in Advance

1.First of all, installing kernel is necessary if you install higher android version roms. If u flash any 4.1.x or 4.2.x based ROM on your ICS based C2 u need flash kernel otherwise problems may arise.
For 4.1.x ROM u need to flash 4.1.x kernel and for 4.2.x ROM u need to flash 4.2.x kernel.
2.first install custom rom then install kernel.
3.yes, it is safe to switch to different ROMs in 1 or 2 weeks.
Take backup first so that if something goes wrong you can quickly revert back to your stock ROM.
4. Do not factory reset after installing custom ROMs because if you do so your device will goes in boot loop(it does not boot).
Press the thanks button if you feel I have helped you.

Use bindassboost kernel...it offers you many features like swipe to wake, swipe to sleep, etc.
Link:-
www.d-h.st/Eb4
Installing kernel is not a big deal first install the ROM with the given procedure and when ROM installation is finished install the kernel without wiping anything and then reboot.
Enjoy

There are 2 patches one is for sd card fix and the second one is a patch for v14
Procedure for installing patch for v14:-
go to cwm and install the v14 patch without wiping anything.
And for installing sd card fix patch:-
again go to cwm...install the sd card fix patch then go to advanced and fix permission then reboot.

Fix permissions is a feature to fix force closes that can't be cleared by going to settings->applications->name of app->clear data.
