I think that camera in CM10 for Xperia J is very slow, is there any method to fix it?

And with Camera ZOOM FX, the camera will be faster than cm stock camera?
Xperia J and it's single processor... don't expect quick launch like on Dual Core devices because this device is too slow
I suggest you try Camera ICS+ or if you have the cash get a new phone...close all apps not necessary to free up more RAM for the Camera To use

Yeah, but are thoose app slows when taking the pic?
The bigger problem of CM is that, Camera's slows when taking a pic
Like I told You... Our devices is powered by a singe core processor which is very weak and cheap.
Don't expect "Quick Capture" like on the Xperia L or M or other better devices by Sony
If you want camera app startup faster,use another app,
if you want camera take photo faster,buy a new phone,

No matter what camera app I downloaded I couldn't get good pictures out my original Motorola Droid. But the same apps gave great results on HTC Incredible S.
Clearly its a matter of which phone with how good a sensor.
What top 3 Camera Apps do you think really change your opinion of your Phone camera

1. HTC Sense 3.5 camera (Custom ROM by NIK :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312021 for HTC Incredible S - Ironically my first choice is an in-built app and not from Google Play Store)

Camera Zoom FX is a great choice
I also use HDR Camera for HDR shots or Camera360 as it offers lots of options as well
the best for me are both Instagram and HDR Camera+
Has anyone tried 'Camera ICS ' ? Lots of people on the forums mentioned this. It worked great for a while but then started force closing on my HTC Incredible S.
This app, when it was working, was definitely faster in focussing than the stock cam.
i think that camera zoom fx is the best app on play.
but cyanogenmod app je really great too.

I know that there are a lot of app on the PlayStore but I can't find an app that have Burst mode , HDR mode and slow-motion video capture.

But on non sense based roms quality of photos will be very poor due to missing htc image chip libs (drivers) in non sense based roms.

In the old time, you really need a stock camera to get the best quality out but I think now some of 3rd party apps actually done a good job without dedicated ISP like Snap Camera HDR(also supports video recording on our phone [email protected] 20Mbit).
I've been tested it(just a couple of days before) on One S and found result isn't bad for a non-stock camera, the older ver of Snap Camera HDR is bad quality but recent ver does improved much. I actually think that the quality is real close to stock but the zero shutter lag function doesn't seems to be working on our phone and buggy, don't enable it. I set the JPEG quality to best, disabled preview cropping, turn the sharpen to 10~ 15 from 5(default is too soft) and you may also want to enable Stable Shot as well.

Like the topic title indicates.
I like taking photos in my freetime - but do not always take my camera with me.
Is there any way to enhance the performance of the camera.
Actually I know it's limitation - from sharpness performance, I have no major expectations from the 2-year-old midranger.
But it would be more than great if light etc could be enhanced and I should not need to work with messy jpegs.

Not a chance, even the on the z5,z3 ect this is down to Sony. It's possible to use the z5 camera2 apk and camera files/libs if rooted using them myself it's about as good as the m2 will get I think on Sony camera files, open camera gives good results. Here's the z5 camera2 files I'm using

Hey there, I found a few screens on the web that show a lot more in-app-camera-apps and a lot more options for manual control. Is there any way to kind of unlock the app or something?
If not, any better camera app to download with a focus on manual control?

I think no other could do better. I got some information about XPZ camera. 。There are special algorithms in the phone to support photos

Actually it does not. Max shutter speed is limited to 1/10s. Which isn't mind blowing. It's Sony fault. They have limited shutter speed in manual camera to 1s and in 3rd party apps to 1/10s...
