Hi,
I have a X1033 dual sim version.
I am using the stock 4.4.2 rom. It is rooted but i cant to anything with my status bar via xposed(gravity box).
I saw that the single sim version has no issues. So i was thinking whether or not the single sim firmware can be installed. I use only 1 sim anyway.

Yes all the stock firmwares of the XT1032 are compatible with XT1033 (SINGLE SIM ONLY)
Ok so if i flash a x1032 firmware on my x1033 it will become a x1032

In my country there are retail single sim firmwares, not sure where you're from though. Gotta try out one that doesn't messes with the radio.

I've seen many cases where people have converted their Moto G into a Play Edition. However, those cases were always with the GSM unlocked version.
Is it possible to convert the Boost Mobile variant Moto G into a Play Edition?
In all of the guides, it says to flash the GPE modem, but wouldn't that break CDMA data?

Anyone?
Sent from my XT1031 using Tapatalk
Haven't tried it my self. There is some information in the mototool thread if you do some searching. Sounds like you have to flash the CDMA modem and the phone aspect of things might not work "out of the box".
Anyway worth a try, if your not relying on the phone.
I was going to do it, but then I realized that the stock boost ROM is working really well for me.

Different file system, COMPLETELY pure android (no Motorola or boost Mobile apps or services), and because the annoying profile updater repetitively comes up around twice an hour. GPE stock rom doesn't have any of that.

here is what i did with my new "boost" mobile phone.
Flashed the Boost 4.4.2 rom
flashed the Verizon 4.4.2 rom on top.
activated the phone and 3G with page plus
then i flashed CyanogenMod11 on top of verzion.
works so far, still get the page plus service.
not sure about 3g cuz i'm out of data.
if i can flash cm11, you can probably do GPE if they work the same way.
(unless it affects the radio partition)
but you can always flash it back

The main reason I am asking is because the stock gpe ROM is specifically designed for the sim unlocked gsm moto g.

if the GPE rom is anything like the pure stock AOSP android. then it will work.

In my view there is no real advantage switching to GPE. Moto G uses f2fs filesystem which is faster then ext4. At least many posts and reviews say that. The Moto G is nearly Stock android. If you are rooted, you can freeze unwanted system apps or even remove them. I havent't heard anything about a profile updater. Also you can make a cwm backup, add and remove apps on your pc and flash it again if you want a fresh installation with less apps.
I tried to fastboot flash the images, it booted, but it had no signal and MEID was equal to zero

I'll look for stock recovery somewhere. do I need to unroot though ? (I didn't flash .zip from recovery I downloaded supersu from play store) I didn't remove any system apps I only disabled

I can't find any link for how to restore stock recovery. can anyone help please ?
Sent from my XT1032 using Tapatalk
the only guides I can find is press a button on moto tool to flash stock recovery image. does this work ?

I have a few questions before I convert to moto g
1. Does the Moto Tool actually convert your phone? (Does it work?)
2. Is their anyone with the GPE boot animation I can flash??
3. Will converting let me download Google apps from the play store that are only for GPE specific phone?
And the most important one..
What custom recoveries work with GPE variant?

None care to help?
Sent from my XT1032 using Tapatalk
1. It just flashes the GPE firmware. Don't know how you define "converting" something.
2. I have no idea what you meant by this.
3. Yes. At least that was the case with the Googne Now Launcher which I desperately wanted.
And the recovery you use doesn't really matter.

you realise you could have had the Google launcher without changing to GPE.
the apk isn't exactly hard to find.

The stock ROM is almost pure stock anyway. You can just Google the bootanimation for xhdpi.

GPE variant works with all if i remember correctly but i recommend TWRP. I "converted" my XT1028 (Verizon) to GPE and stopped receiving 3g.
i have motorola moto g indian dual sim version XT1033
i already updated 4.4.4 through OTA
then i rooted and unlock bootloader and install custom roms like crdroid n5 experience
but i am not satisifed with custom rom (bugs sometime stuck poor camera quality etc..)
so i decided go back to stock rom
i already have 4.4.2 firmware zip file
i nstalled firrmware through mfastbot v2
but get error something like this
Ready to flash signed images!
OK: (time)
I do fastboot flash partition gpt.bin and I get:
Preflash validation failed!
SST lock failure!
pls anyone help me
or anyone upload 4.4.4 retail dualsim firmware or download link
Downgrade is always very dangerous. You can brick the phone easily.
You could try this:
XT1033_RETAIL-BR-DS_4.4.4_KXB21.14-L1.40_38_cid12_CFC_1FF_SVC.xml.zip
It's Brazilian Retail Global GSM Dual-SIM 4.4.4 firmware, so should work for you through fastboot.
Thanks dlink

The first command will fail if you are downgrading...it is supposed to fail...don't worry...just ignore it and skip it and continue with the other commands...

The procedure for 4.4.2 and 4.4.4 is the same for all models...All you have to do is flash the updated recovery and the SuperSU zip
