I wasn't sure if this would go in themes and apps or Q&A... I like the look of the old Sense style flip clock widget. I was wondering if anyone has successfully found a flip clock that ACTUALLY flips. There are so many on the play store that are advertised as a flip clock then they don't actually flip. It's annoying. Anyone got any input on this?

I believe "beautiful widgets" in the play store has a couple. I havent used it in a while though

BW is a great app and I love it but it does not have clocks that actually flip. Apparently they don't hardly exist. Kinda odd. Thanks for the first response in over 100 views.. :thumbup:

Go to the market and download "Digital Clock Widget". The developer is "maize". Do a search on his name and it will come right up.
Well I want the digital clock like on the lock screen I've seen pics of people having it but im not sure where to get the specific one.

Beautiful widgets on Market.
I like the full screen animation that displays when I unlock on the stock Sense. I'm running Virtuous and using Launcher Pro. I have tried some nice widget apps but I have not found that kind of animation for Launcher Pro. Anyone know how to get this (preferably free .
There is but it won't play wenu open phone u havta open app. Think it's. Animated weather or something like tht. I wanted same thing udo but couldn't find anything close.

I was wondering if it did that. Downloaded some gorgeous custom Beautiful click widgets from this forum today. If I can install the app and get screen animation it will be worth the few bucks. Thanks.

Also "Weather & Toggle Widgets" does the unlock animations, I think it's $1.99 in the market. You do have to download the "Forecast Addon" but it's free. There're some nice skins for it in the market as well.

Yes I saw a youtube on that. A comment said it was a bit out of date and recommended Beautiful. Any idea which is best?
I just now put on beautiful super widget. Very nice. The custom clock I put on from xda is nicer though. It's a "Fancy" widget but not animated. Named HTCclockwidget-redrum. I'd love that clock with animated weather.
Anyway I'm happy now. Thanks guys. Maybe I'll even try Weather and Toggle to check the skins.

I can't get the clock skin to work. It doesn't display the skin.
Use SPB, runs real smooth on this phone.

i downloaded form market and it works and all but yes the skin wont apply in adw it locked the phone up trying to apply. with go launcher it said applying and dialog disapeared but no skin was applied.
Beautiful Widgets works on my G2X running the stock launcher.

I said above I'm using Beautiful Widgets. I forgot to add I'm also using ADW. It's either a conflict with an ADW setting or another app.
Beautiful Widgets seems to take a little bit to apply changes on the G2X (I'm using ADW EX). If you apply a skin and you don't see it take effect immediately, go do some other stuff on the phone and then check back in 2 minutes. It should be good.
I'm using ADW launcher, works great with no problems.

i didnt stae i wsa trying fancy widgets for him. and it didnt give me any option other than 1 skin for both the clock and weather no download option. so it might just be the version that is up now.
By the way, Fancy Widget Pro is free on Amazon right now. I got it to work but download is very slow right now.

Hey guys. I'm in search of an animated flip clock, identical to the one found on HTC devices. After hours of looking around, I've decided that there is not one out there that flips AND looks just like the HTC one. However, after playing around with Better Alarm Clock Pro, I found that it has a working flip clock built into the app, but it cannot be used as a widget. This brings out the question: Can this portion of the app be ported so that it is a widget? I am rooted, on an Optimus V running Stock ROM with everything stipped, if it matters. Thank you.

Fancy Widget with the H7C skin looks almost exactly like the sense flip clock.
Go weather's htc style widget looks close too. Just download go weather and then the skin for the widget.

He wants it to flip too. Like the animation. This isn't currently possible according to fancy widget. It is in the FAQ on their site.
Fancy Widget Pro is quite good to pretend as HTC Sense clock, Retro Clock Widget is an alternative for simple flip clock
I believe the flipping animation is part of Sense UI... soo you can't exactly replicate that.
Anyways I understand it'd look cool for the first hour or so when you're looking at your widget to flip..
you'll forget about it later, and it'll cause to be nothing more than a battery eater.
I own fancy widget pro and am using the h7c skin, but it doesn't flip. Better alarm clock pro has a working flipclock built in and I just want to know if it can be ported?

Try a LWP instead of a widget search the Marketplace for "Live Wallpaper Flip Clock" by Sergey Golovanov it is not bad and may accomplish the effect you are looking for.
Thanks for the reply, RifRaf, looking into it at this very moment. But my original question is still not answered. PLEASE can anyone tell me if it is possible to port it. I don't know how to develop apps or scripts or any of that stuff. All I know is that the flip clock is there, within the app, and I just want it on my homescreen.
The flip is part of htc's framework. Its not part of androids. Theres no way to make it work.

well I know I sound like I'm a dumbass here, but I know that the stock android system is capable of animated Widgets. I've used a clock with rolling animation, so I know that animation is possible. I also know that better alarm clock pro has the HTC flip clock. How can it not be possible to animate the flip clock as a widget? All of the image files are there, it just needs to be coded or scripted or whatever (I'm not programming inclined, obviously). If anyone can make a widget out of this, I would be happy to give them a few drinks.

If youre not programming inclined then why do you insist it can be done? I have been told by many developers, it can not be done. Talk to any sense dev, theyll tell you.

Look, if I had several hundred dollars to throw away just so I could get a damn flip clock....I am fine with my phone how it is. The flip clock is 100% possible, there was a working flip clock posted earlier in this thread. It just needs to be themed to look like the htc one.
I have my entire sense theme put together, I just need this flip clock widget to happen, so I can make it complete.
It doesn't really look like HTC Sense, but it flips...
Try out "Animating Flip Clock Widget" - it's free on the market. I'm sure the apk could be modded to look more like the Sense clock.
EDIT: Doh! I just realized the link posted earlier was the same widget. Oh well... but yeah, I'm sure it could be modded, but making it look exactly like the Sense flip clock, including weather, the dark background behind the tabs, etc... might be difficult.
