Which rom / kernel you got? Stock rom / kernel doesn't have adb root.
If you have a custom recovery, boot into it,.then you can use adb

Yes because that location is /sdcard which is not root. Stock kernel has no root over adb. Means you can only get to non-root locations

Method with EFS Pro - For Samsung Android Devices ;http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1308546
Method with Android Terminal Emulator ;
1 Install the Google Android Play Terminal Emulator.https://play.google.com/store/apps/...251bGwsMSwxLDEsImphY2twYWwuYW5kcm9pZHRlcm0iXQ..
Will allow us to manually launch the commands to backup.
2 Start Android Terminal Emulator.
Type the command on and give enter.

3 You will be prompted that allows the application to obtain the rights to root (if it has never been done).
4 Type the following command respecting all spaces and any capitals:
busybox tar zcvf /sdcard/efs-backup.tar.gz /efs
5 After a few seconds the operation comes to an end. The procedure can be considered complete
6 The command does nothing but create a compressed archive called efs-backup.tar.gz within memory /sdcard. We recommend that you make a copy of transfer even on your pc.
7 Always to be sure of the success of the operation, open the archivo compressed (by phone through file manager or from your pc using winrar, 7zip or the like) and make sure they are present especially the nv_data.bin and nv_data.bin.md5 .
On the behalf of everyone here I solute u my friend they should make this post a sticky in the development section. Efs corruption is a serious issue.. it happened to me on my sgs2 and I couldn't get it back.. and I couldn't find someone with a box to restore it.. I had to buy a box for 260$ online

Please see your other Assist thread you created.
Same advice for this.
Thanks, thread closed.
Note that this is the real deal - unlike the unofficial N5X wallpaper that was similar but slightly different, this is the 100% official stock wallpaper taken straight from the N5X's system image. You're welcome!
PS: If someone with a Nexus 6P could extract the stock wallpaper from that as well, I would be very grateful. There's no system image for the 6P yet, so we need someone with an actual device to do it! This is how:
Open the /system/framework folder in your file explorer of choice (root will be required to browse the /system folder);
Copy framework-res.apk to your PC, and open it in WinRAR;
You can find the wallpaper inside the archive, it's located in /res/drawable-nodpi-v4/.
Thanks in advance!
Finally, someone do that...
Thanks dude...
edit: no need to be rooted, with Es File Explorer open device directory,
framework, copy framework.res.apk to internal storage, then transfer to PC,
extract (7zip) end pull...

I might be wrong, but is it even possible to open the /system directory in a file explorer without root access?
Yes it's possible, with Es File Exp... Just try...
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction but why didn't you just upload the full resolution wallpaper afterwards?
There you go guys
Woops, I didn't notice that XDA compressed the image. OP edited to include the full image now - thanks for letting me know!
