Xbox 360 Wireless Controller on Nexus 5 - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
I want to ask if somebody has a idea how to make the Xbox 360 wireless controller to work with our Nexus 5. I have the wireless adapter and tried to sync it over OTG. I also tried the files provided in the Nexus 7 thread. It woul be nice if somebody could look at this thing

Franco kernel has support for the Xbox 360 controllers.
The problem is there is no xpad.ko module which are the drivers for the Microsoft control pads. Franco is the first to build this for the nexus 5 and I hope the other kernel devs follow suit

[Q] Has anyone managed to get any gamepad working, natively?

I got my OTG USB cable and mice etc. seem to work fine. Tried the wired xbox controller and while it is detected via the BT joystick test app, it wont work in any apps.
Tried another generic USB gamepad today and nothing, not even recognised in the test app.
So has anyone managed to get a gamepad working natively? The main reason I ask if that my mum likes to play the odd old arcade game (cool huh) and she would need gamepad support and wont bother if she has to pay out and configure another it all via another app!
thanks
guess not
I have gotten a wireless sixaxis controller to work via bluetooth, but my wired xbox controller will not work.

stock 4.0.4
Use a ps3 controller. No wires = boss. And you can even use it for touch screen only games.

I have the same problem here. In my case I have generic USB controller and totally the tab and BT joystick test app cannot detect it. Did you manage to make it work?
For those who were able to get the game controller to work on tablet, which ROMS have the sixaxis program installed?

[Q] How can I get a wired xbox 360 controller to work on my tab 2?

I have seen a lot on the internet about getting PS3 and Xbox controllers to work on android phones and tablets but I haven't had any success in getting it to work. I connect my controller up to my OTG cable and then connect it to my GT-P5110 and when I do the controller lights up and continues flashing, but it doesn't work on any of the games that support it and doesn't seem to send any input to the tab. I also own a GT-I9100 and have tried it on that too with no success. Any information would be very helpful thanks.
NOTE: The OTG cables on my tab and my phone are both working fine for other things such as mouse and keyboard and usb flash memory. Also my phone is on stock 4.0.4 Rom and rooted with cf-root using the siyah kernel and the tab is also on stock 4.0.4 Rom and rooted but with stock kernel.

Not quite what I was looking for. I want an Xbox controller to control games and emulators on my tablet or phone. Excellent app though will have to try it out with my 360 later.

Xbox isn't Bluetooth so I doubt it would work. I think some kind of adapter would be required, but uncertain if there's one that works with android.

This is a useful article on getting your wireless Xbox controller to work with your tablet. You will need a wireless receiver, which can be bought for around £7. I wasn't able to get it working exactly, or was missing a file, so I downloaded the USBJoyService app. It detected my controller and and had to map the buttons in MD.emu (MegaDrive emulator).
I didn't find it 100% responsive. It felt laggy. I would prefer to either go for a wired Xbox controller, or get a PS3 controller, as it has bluetooth (though are expensive).

from my experiences I was never able to get it running on ICS only JB
I wish there was a way for it to work but I think you would have to contact the developer for that
CyanogenMod have better bluetooth utility add-in, and yet, one more problem - some Sixaxis controller requires USB-OTG to get bluetooth ID. (my paid-for version requires USB-OTG or it can use bluetooth ID pulled from PC with Windows utility).

I have an ipega Bluetooth controller and pairs fine out of the box with my 3D optimus Cube without root.

That depends on type of joystick drivers. Some doesn't require root, other do strictly require root (due to nature of Bluetooth IO).

[Q] Nexus 5 with USB keyboard, mouse

I should be receiving my Nexus 5 shortly. I was wondering if anyone has tried using it with USB devices such as keyboard, mouse or even the DualShock 3 controller? Its a feature that we missed on the Nexus 4 and if Nexus 5 doesn't support this, I may send it back.
