Do I have a battery issue ? I'm running stock. I almost did not use my nexus 5 for 3 hours (5min call, a few text and internet browsing) and already lost 30%. I just purchased my phone three days ago so it may be a battery defect
I tried stock + franco, paranoid + franco, but I could not get through 8 hours with a quite low use of the phone.
Install better battery stats.

it could be your poor reception.. try switching to 3g and see how that works
I just got 4g today and it was the same with my old 3G simcard..
Prefect combination, running for over 14hrs and 22% remaining. Validus ROM 5.0 + ElementalX kernel (latest). ROM is super stable, smooth and loaded with goodies!.

Bam dmux is network related. Maybe you've some syncing going on.
What are the other screens showing?

Did you recently reset? At first it needs to sync a lot of your Google data. Honestly the numbers don't seem that far off what you'd expect without basic battery adjustments. 30+mins of Play Store, 10+min of voice calls and fairly low signal data usage throughout. Auto brightness is on?

This is probably one of the worst phones on battery life that I have ever had... No matter what I do, what tweaks I use of what rom I'm on... I always only get 7 to 8 hours of battery with 1 hr screen on time.
I honestly have no idea what to do... I'm so sick of it. Anybody have any suggestions?
Seriously?
I have been on my phone all day with a full charge and I still have about half the juice. I am on stock 4.0.4 ICS. The one that droidstyles has in his guide. The Rom that came with my phone sucked on battery. This Rom works great for some reason.

What are your settings on? Post your settings (like screen, whether GPS is on, ect), a lot of times it has to do with your settings. I used to have so-so battery life but I tweaked some stuff in my settings and am very pleased with the phone.
Believe me, if you want bad, try the Droid Charge. Worst 4g phone I have ever had in terms of battery life.
This is on clean rom. Ignore the screen percentage, going down since this was a recently flashed rom.

I have nothing running... Only thing that I actually did was run v6 and I am running kt kernel
I'm on pure motives rls7
I'll add a screen shot of my battery status tomorrow cause I just plugged in
I get 30 hours with 5 and a half hours screen time.
Idk why your battery life is so bad.
I have power save on, no vibration, and sync set to manual. That's about it. Battery life for me is amazing.

Possible Idea
Don't know if this problem could occur with different ROM's, but I had issues with a runaway process that kept showing up. Maybe try Developer Options -> Show CPU Usage. I noticed that one called gsiff_daemon kept showing up at the top and was making my battery drain extremely fast. Everyone on this forum said it was a common issue and that it wasn't a crucial file, therefore I should just change the name so it wouldn't get accessed.
On RLS7 and kt kernel? This kernel has capabilities for overclocking/underclocking & overvolting/undervolting. By default your min Mhz is set to 384. Go into ktweaker and lower it to 96, test your phone out with a scaled stress test (play store app for stress testing). Then you can also go into the extra settings of ktweaker and set the Mhz for when your screen is off in addition to the governor (many options of which some are powersaving labelled).
If you want to save more battery read the kernel's thread to see starting undervolting values and lower from there while testing your phones limits. More undervolted you are, the less battery your phone uses for that particular frequency.

You obviously never had the thunderbolt, now that battery sucked. You have to let the rom settle in and your battery will improve. Usually for me the first day not so good after that everything is fine.

I had a Thunderbolt. Yep, now that was poor battery life.
My S3 gives me 12 hours if I use it heavily. Typically, at 16 hours, I still have 40% remaining. I leave WiFi, bluetooth, and GPS on 100% of the time.
As bad as your battery is, I would suspect that you have a poor radio signal.and the radios are cranking up the power to work. Try using WiFi or turning off mobile data for a while to get the LTE radio turned off.
man, i barely get 8 hours at times

This. For example, I have a 4g tower nearby at work, normally (4-5 bars). But sometimes it disappears, and I end up on a 1-2 bar 3g tower for the day. On those days, my battery life is around 8hrs max, barely using it. On good signal, even with crazy heavy usage (4hrs screen on and lots of 4g web browsing) I can get over 8 hours.
Signal strength has a LOT to do with battery life.

Guys I must share that unbelivable stats (for me and maybe some of you).
A few days ago I flashed an MGG rom and then tried to downgrade, I ended up with unfunctional SGS4.. FCs, No sound.. Almsot dropped it into a grabge.
Thanks to Djembey! I fixed it up - Downloaded MH8 from Samsung Updates, Flashed it with Odin so my phone is Official status now and the crazy thing I've found is that the battery is THE GREATEST I've ever seen yet. All Official stock.
Yet- 25 Hours without charging! (During the first 9 Hours NFC and BT were working cause I forgot to switch em off) 2 Hours Screen on time! and still 52% Battery
P.S: Pictures were taken after some use time...

This has been possible with all rom so far. The most important point on such statements, as per my opinion, is always missing. Which configuration (i.e. background tasks, screen settings, power saving settings, data connection, BT, WLAN) was active during the said period. Only once there are predefined test settings (if only possible) applied - comparison is probably possible with a certain accuracy.
Anyhow, if it makes people happy sharing such information - it is worth of sharing it !

Nothing Configured for Battery saving.............. Mobile always on. Screen Brightness Auto in the middle. Nothing been changed since I Flashed MH8 for battery saving.
Just powered off BT and NFC after about 9 Hours. Google services off.
standby time is better since latest update ( at least for me )
standby, on 3g with sync, battery drops 1% / h -> 4 days standby time
airplane mode -> 1 % per 8-10 hours -> 32 days offline - never going to try this
but screen on time is rarely more than 4 hours ( browsing or game play ), with video watching could go up to 8 hours
stock, unrooted 9505i

I'd generally average 25-28hrs with everything on, a few message, a bit of talk time. 2 push exchange accounts. Syncing on. Bluetooth on. GPS off. Data on. Wi-Fi on. Smart stuff on. A few widgets. Live wallpaper
One day using same settings add above, managed over 2 days (see pic). The two big drops were where I ran benchmarking software to try and hammer battery
Now I always have pebble connected and using tasker/autovoice (continuous voice) get around 18hrs

How much screen time? That's what matters the most to me.
My phone performs really great when I'm on Wifi, but once 4G comes in, it drains 10%/h battery when I'm not using the phone and even more if I do.
So I have to leave 4G off most of the time to save battery but it's not really what I intended when I bought this phone.
I have been so impressed with the battery life on the N5 however the last 2 weeks my battery is dropping 50% in less than 4 hours. If I reboot my phone it fixes this and drops about 10% - 15% in 4 hours.
I thought it must be an app I am opening that is constantly running in the background but can't see anything obvious.
Anybody got any suggestions or advice? I have stopped almost all apps and uninstalled the majority. I don't want to restore factory defaults if I can help it.
Have you checked Gsam? Mine sometimes does that, and the culprit normally is my kernel keeping the phone awake for whatever reason, and a reboot solves it. Not sure why though

I'm not familiar with that. Does it tell you what your partial and kernel wake locks are?
If you go to App Usage it will give you a breakdown of what apps are using your battery

I have this exact same problem. I normally have to reboot my phone when I disconnect from the wireless charger. I don't think that's always the cause tho. I would love to install batterbatterystats but you need root am I'm really trying to not go down that road anymore.

I think It's the dialer. I had this problem in 4.1.1 where it would constantly be looking at my address book in exchange.
In my case, Gsam points to the Kernel being the issue. I'm trying out a different kernel, and haven't experienced the same issue.

Hello guys,
I purchased my HTC one mini yesterday, and charged it to for the first time to 100% over night. After 11 hours my battery went down to 10% !!! The thing is I didn't even use it a lot since I was at college lectures whole day. Is something wrong with it??
Looks like the wifi has been used a lot. Turn it off and it will be better.
Wifi\Mobile network
Turn off when aren't using
Try using an app called "wakelock detector", might help with seeing what's keeping your phone awake. There are lots of good battery apps (also bad ones too) and this is one of my favourite.

Are you rooted? Also check out "Greenify" and "Battery Guru" on play store, some things I'm currently using and testing. It all depends on what apps, settings, and things you have syncing in the background.

I didn't root my phone yet, don't see any need for it atm, my phone runs fine. Thanks for the info on those apps, will try it definitely.
When my phone is about to get idle I turn off the wi-fi and mobile data and now it lasts one day as usual. Noticed that when 4G is active battery seems to drain a LOT faster so that's probably one of the main causes my battery died so fast that day.
OK so I rooted and over the pass few days I have noticed battery drops a lot. Before I could easily get 3-4 hrs screen on time but now there is only 1-2 hrs? Is this a known problem after you root? And is there anyways to fix. I use snapdragon guru before and after I rooted.
Thanks

Do yourself a favor and install Better Battery Stats. BBS will give you very detailed information about what wake locks are keeping your phone awake and draining your battery. In general, most people say to avoid "optimizing" and "battery saving apps" because they rely on activating the processor to function. Your best bet for great battery life is to minimize your wake locks.

In the thread above yours someone else has a similar issue and they found that it was tied into the wifi being turned on or turned on and then off.
Try turning off wifi, reboot the phone and go a day without using wifi (if possible) and see if that is the problem.

One of the few things Snapdragon Battery Guru tries to do is dynamically switch your WiFi on and off, coincidence?
Of course as Rootsu said, in the process it will use more CPU cycles than it saves. You could use Llama or Tasker for this and many other tasks with a minimal footprint. Avoid the advertising platform that is Battery Guru all together.
