Hi
I am new in this forum so bare with me I have had the Asua transtormer infinity tf700t since it came out in 2012. It ia 100% stock with the android 4.2.1 intalled. I dont think i runs as well as it had done running on the earlier android versions. I just got a hold on a Asus nexus 7, also 100% stock on android 4.4.2, whch runs much better. I know that the nexux diveces are running smooth, but i think that a transformer tf700t can run much better then it does now. I am thinking about trying a costum rom wich i think will run much better. But I am not sure if there is a very good rom out there yet. Is there a rom where everything is working fot the tf700t like bluetooth, wifi, sound, camera, mic and alle the other stuff??? It is also very importent for me that the dock is working like it should and the usr of a external sd card in both the tablet itselve and the dock!
The only reson that I consider using another rom is that I dont think it is running as it could. I have tried doing a factory reset mant times...
Is there a good rom outthere yet or should I wait???? Which one should I use if there are a good one?????
PS I am not an advanced user, but I doo know how to use a computer and follow a guide Apparently I am not that good at English eighter...

I'm pretty sure once you run a custom rom you are going to kick yourself you waited this long
A ROM for "everything works like stock including all dock functions only much, much better": CROMi-X 5.4
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2425383
A KitKat ROM: CM11
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957660
CyanogenMod ROMs are developed from the ground up and then forked for specific devices. Since they don't use Asus firmware they have to use generic drivers for keyboard etc. Expect some bugs but most things work. Check their thread for current issues
Another KitKat ROM: CROMBi-KK
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2672751
Two weeks young, a hybrid of CROMi-X and CM11 on CM11 base. It's still in beta, so there are bugs
For your first custom rom I would recommend CROMi-X. Read the OP of it's thread very carefully and then browse through it. To read it all you need to take a few days off
And finally here are some instructions how to flash them: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2688891

I rooted my tf101 9.2.1.17-20120312 with viperMod. Then installed recovery installer and can now access recovery. I want to try some custom roms but I want to know how i can restore my tab in case i don't like the rom or something goes wrong during flash.
I downloaded US_epaduser9.2.1.17UpdateLauncher.zip from asus site since my tab seems to be running Us version of rom. My question is is this zip recovery flashable? Or is there some other way I can restock?
I should mention i got my tab in mint condition but without original case so i don't know what serial number it has. I've attacked a photo with what it says on the box.
Any help would be apreciated. I don't want to end up with a shiny new brick.
According to the box, your serial is BC0, which means its an SBK2 device. So you cant use NVFlash.
Its not much of a big deal as long as you dont **** up the recovery and the android OS at the same time.
As far as restoring... Just take a backup of your current rom in CWM before flashing anything new.
And I suggest you skip ASUS's builds. Just grab a custom rom instead, they are 100 times better in all areas.
Thanks for the quick reply. I saw there are plenty of custom roms for the tf101. Which one is the more stable? I used aokp for a galaxy tab 7 i owned until recently but it wasn't quite suited for daily use.
Hi Saav,
I can also recommend this to read:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22465766
I like the revolver rom of gnufabio 4.0.0. It is still in beta but works really wel for me.
And Goatshocker is correct, the serial number is for SBK2, so nvflash is not an option for you.

They hold a generally equal stability. What matters is the kernel youre using. guevenors kernel is aparantly very stable. I dont know myself, Im running the kernel included in EOS build 19 still, which is stable for me.
I suggest you try out the roms for yourself and pick the one you like best

Yes if you want to go back to stock, just flash the official firmware from Asus in recovery.
Hello
Both my wife and I have tf300s and after reading some threads here, last night I unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP on the both. Thanks to some great tutorials here, took me less then 10 minutes to do both.
From what I am reading, the Crom ROMs are consider the best. We like the ASUS experience, but just want the ROM that will give us the best performance. Should we go with the older Cromi-X or is the new Crombi-KK (KK) ready for prime time? I just don't want to install something on the wife's tab and have it still be buggy.
Thanks for all the help

Personally I love the new CROMBi-KK since it has the KitKat flavor and a CM base. It's not extremely buggy, but there is no doubt that the older one will be less buggy simply because it has been around for longer and has been fixed up more.
Hi
I'm not very old... but I am old lolm but also, Ive had the TF101 since just after launch and for most of that time it has sat gathering disk only being used when visiting friends as internet access rather than use their computers, I tend to use my phone or a 7" tablet but I want to take it abroad and also upgrade the o/s from 4.1.1 and also run xbmc... or Kodi , the last upgrade was the Cyanogen mod, but when ive charged it today its really slow and I think it may be best to just do a complete wipe and update.
Can anyone give me any ideas on whats best, i'll only be using it for web browsing and media (xbmc) .. is it still up to the job?
Thanks
I suggest you update to the latest TWRP recovery by sidneyk first: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2434422
There are two actively developed kitkat ROMs for TF101: Unofficial OmniROM by sidneyk and KatKiss by timduru. I personally use KatKiss and it's buttery smooth, but I haven't tried OmniROM so I can't really compare the two. You could try both and decide for yourself which suits you best.
OmniROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2584265
KatKiss: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2592890
I have run both. I am currently on Omni. It runs smoother on my tf101 than KatKiss. I also have no need for features like multiwindow.
Both are great options!
I prefer TWRP over any other recovery I have tried.
Hi!
I have had this tablet for about 4 years now, and no matter what rom I install, it is laggy and slow.
Does anyone have any tips for how to make this tablet let me browse the web smoothly again?
I will be thankful for any help

Take this one and you will be really surprised. Your tablet will get a new life: http://forum.xda-developers.com/transformer-tf300t/development/rom-t3237867
However before you do anything you must take care that your tablet has the latest Asus update of the Stock Rom "Jelly Bean 4.2". Your boot loader must be unlocked. This both things are very important. You need Kang TWRP 2.8.7.2!!!
If you install the rom, please observe exactly the installation instruction given by Timduru in post 1.
He ain't lying.
I installed this rom and man, what a difference!
Have these zips available too.
supersu 2.5.2 beta
open gapps pico dates 2/28/16
Follow the instructions carefully. Enjoy new tablet performance on old HW.
So my TF300 is running slower for each day. Is there any hope left?
Ive tried kat kiss and cyanogenmod different versions.
Most of the time I'm running twitch, or youtube.
I gave up browsing the web, everything is way too sluggish.
So what rom do you recommend for best performance?

I would go back to KatKiss (as it is the best ROM there is for the TF300T right now and possibly the last one of that quality as well) if I were you. You can try an app that let's you make additional Swap space whether it be a file or partition on your external SD card. I did this on my Amazon Fire 7 2015 KFFOWI, and it made a noticeable difference with a 2GB swap file. I will be trying it on the TF300T next.
Im in the same boat. I keep coming back to katkiss because it has the battery dock support. I hate not knowing how much I have left in there. Im itching to try something new and different with better speed, but so far... no luck

To my opinion the best CR is KatKiss - Nougatella by Timduru and I think I'm not alone. This rom will give your device a new life. There is a thread you may read carefully: https://forum.xda-developers.com/transformer-tf300t/development/rom-t3453702
Please note, your Tablet must be on the latest Asus stock rom Jelly Bean 4.2. with bootloader unlocked. Custom recovery must be Kang TWRP [email protected] If it is so, please follow the install instruction in post #1 of the mentioned thread carefully step by step.

Yea I second the notion for KatKiss, it is the best one for our device right now and has great support as well. I paired the ROM with some tweaks from L Speed and it is great and very fast compared to how it was previously. Also, @timduru is an awesome dude and really cares about the users and the community so you can't go wrong using a ROM he develops.
@rjmxtech
@ebonit
Yeah actually I already have Kat kiss nougat by that dude. Version 7.1. I used TWRP 2.8 to install ROM.
I've used loads of different roms before this one. Does it matter what boot loader I am installing rom with?
How can I make sure install is as it should be? Should partitions etc be a specific size?
Just upgraded to TWRP 3.1. Should that be an issue? Should I install ROM one again?

No, TWRP 3.1 shouldn't be an issue!
If you did follow the install instruction in post #1 carefully and did format /Data and then changed file system for Data to F2FS through Kang TWRP, you don't need to run the install process once again.
I had never enabled F2FS before. Now my tablet is working better than ever before. Thanks man!
