you can do it on either, if you want to return it to factory settings (unroot so you can turn it in for warranty or such) you should get back to stock first, root it, use triangle away then unroot and should be good To go on stock is the only time you SHOULD use it.

should probably look at some videos of it first, only if you are not sure.

As I understand it, it is just a counter. But anyone with a bit of a brain could /
would know that you had flashed / rooted your tablet. The main concern most
people have is in returning the tablet, where the manufacturer or dealer would
know that you flashed software and this MAY void your warranty.

you understand correctly, and yes, Triangle Away resets that counter. However it's also worth mentioning that with recent Samsung devices, even if you reset the counter the device will still be marked as MODIFIED. Which makes it pretty much silly to use anyways. You basically need to be unrooted for that to go away in the case you need to claim warranty... But then there's probably something wrong with the tablet that would prevent one from resetting that if you're looking at the warranty. Have a 0 counter all you want, if they find superuser/SuperSU and some root apps... then you're caught

[Q] Help Please!

So I have a VZW S3 on NE1 rooted and running xposed. I am not sure what module it was that I installed but my phone is now stuck with the SystemUI constantly crashing to the point of me being unable to use the phone. Then I, like a moron, Unrooted my phone thinking that would stop the issue. It didn't. I do have usb debugging enabled and my phone connects to the computer. Can I just boot into recovery and use the Xposed-disabler-recovery zip to fix this? will that wreck my phone since VZW is so annoying? Would that wipe my memory? And if that doesn't work what else could I do except pull everything I can off my phone and and reflash the entire thing using Odin?
Thanks a million!

OK, I see then just flash the xposed-disabled-recovery.zip using custom recovery. If you locked with only stock recovery, you may need to do a factory reset,

From stock recovery? That won't make my phone trip the fuse for modifying the system? By the way Thank you SO much for replying.

Possibly you might be able to find a stock ROM image, but that depends on what kind of phone it is. You wouldn't expect a mechanic to give you advice about how to fix your car without telling him what kind it was, so how can you expect anybody to help you with your phone without telling us what phone it is?

With Odin and Samsung phones, you can usually easily restore to factory settings as long as you can still boot into recovery, so you've lucked out in that regard.
This is a factory image, of course, so any of your data is already gone, but I'm sure you already know that.

[Q] Galaxy s6 after rooting

Hello, I have rooted my galaxy s6 international version and the only thing I am using is some CSC (?) features like alphabetacilly sorting the app drawer, adblocker and whatsmapp. Actually, I kind of regret it, I want back my factory galaxy s6, warranty, clean rom, is there any way to get like a new device? Installing the stock rom I had will fix it?
Now I see more problems with the s6 like fingerprint sensor isn't working, I'm so afraid without the warranty, don't you?
The burned eFuse-Chip is in fact a hardware damage caused by rooting from the user --> no more warranty by Samsung! You can check that in several reports online, in magazins and even at Samsung

Saw this in the other thread located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/help/penalties-flashing-rooting-t3097277
So yeah you can never restore original, never...You can only flash stock firmware.
I did root my Galaxy S6, at first I was very disapointed that I did that, but now I'm thinking that sooner or later I would still have done the same thing, because without root your phone is kind of limited to some things, root gives you more power over the phone so you can control it how you like.
Edit: Fingerprint scanner works fine for me, for you it's probably software related issue, that could be solved by flashing other firmwares.

I'm not sure, but it may save the Efuse-chip by rooting with PingPong. It's a shame that I didn't knew about it before rooting...

Well we can hope that it doesn't! Yeah mate it sucks ive been wanting to root ever since the SGS6 released but been torned incase I want to return to completly stock so this is a nice choice. But as you said yourself, you would have eventually rooted sooner or later and I don't think you will miss out on anything important

Install Samsung Smart Switch and use it to make a backup of your things and then use the recovery option in the program. It will download the right firmware for you and re-install your phone to fabric settings.

Thx everyone.. really disappointed of rooting, at least I wish I could restore it and root with ping-pong root.
And Zozo,
Its just to transfer files from my previous device to my current device. .

If you press the "More" button up to the right there's an option called "Emergency software recovery initialisation". There you can re-install your whole phone to completely factory settings
It will not untrip your KNOX if you rooted the phone in any other way than with PingPong Root, that is not possible for the time being.

[Firmware]G925P OF7 Stock Firmware 5.1.1

Decided to help you guys out with a faster download.
DO NOT FLASH THIS IF YOU ARE ON OI1 FIRMWARE OR YOU WILL SOFT BRICK YOUR PHONE
How to Install:
Using odin:
Download and install the drivers
Download the Zip file
Unzip
Download Odin
Leave Auto reboot and F. Reset Time checked
Absolutely do not check repartition
Click AP/PDA
Navigate to the OF7.tar
Click Start
First boot takes a while so be patient!
This is rare but if for some reason you get a bootloop or stuck on the Sprint screen, then you will need to wipe your internal or do a factory reset. Back up any files that you may want to a computer or drive just incase you lose them.

I figured, thanks Sooop!!! I remember on my HTC M8 I actually used an older modem cause it got better reception than the newer one.
It's all good. Running smooth as butter and wicked fast... Kinda just wanted to see what 5.1.1 brings to the table.

Same here. I've never had an issue with tripping knox... It's just this would be the first time I'd have to send my phone in if I jumped to 5.1.1. I guess I could just not root, but that's no fun!

I've sent plenty Samsung devices back and taken them in the store. I usually atleast try to Odin back to stock. I had a buddy take one in with TWRP installed and got by. Samsung is the only one that you may have trouble with. I can confirm that you're ok with Sprint
