Hey Guys,
So i'm working on a ROM that is built for embedded use. I will be using the KitKat ROM. Device/ROM info can be found here w w w . technexion .com/support/download-center/edm/edm1-cf-imx6 .
What I need is to be able to autostart an app, either Chrome or a WebView app to display fullscreen content. The page I am displaying requires support for WebRTC and CSS3 Transforms. I would have gone straight for a WebView but support for WebRTC isn't readily available in KitKat.
I have two possible avenues I can go down.
- Try and figure out a way to get a WebRTC compatible WebView running in KitKat.
- Try and figure out how to launch Chrome in fullscreen mode without user interaction. The Android Status bar isn't that big a deal as I can hack remove when tweaking the ROM. What I need is to have Chrome hide the address bar on startup. Off hand, is any body familiar with the state of the "fullscreen" APIs in Chrome and what version?
Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I will post back here with anything that I come up with if people are interested.

Hi!
I recently returned to Android (CM) and I am loving it so far! I wanted to ask if there is an app or mod that allows me to disable notifications for some apps during a certain time period (or only allow notifications during a certain time period). The apps I would like to disable are the built in E-Mail client (I am running a modded version already, so I would prefer to not modifiy the apk) and Slack (maybe other apps will be added as well, so a generic solution would be awesome).
I can currently disable notifications in settings, but I have to do that manually and it is quite bothersome.
My phone information, if needed:
LG G3 Verizon (VS985)
Cyanogenmod 12.1 (cm-vs985-userdebug 5.1.1 LMY48B b416cb3846 test-keys)
Not rooted (I think, not sure)
I'd be very thankful for an answer, those e-mails just won't stop =)

Hi everybody,
I now use a custom ROM based on CM 12.1 (Lollipop, Android 5.1.1) on my SGS4 i9505.
All in all it's fine - but I miss some of the features which Samsung adds to their app versions.
So I wonder if it is possible to add the original Samsung apps to my custom ROM, namely the contact and the SMS app.
Is it possible (without touchwiz etc.)? And if yes, how can I extract the apps from stock ROM?
Or even better, where can I download them?
Alternatively who can tell me other 3rd party contact apps which are able to link together contacts of several accounts and have good overview, search and editable features.
The original Android app is very confusing for me and also lacks above features.
I also tried contacts+ which is (in my sight) not much better...

Bad news
So the touchwiz framework is put deep into Samsung's Android Versions?
Not only a "framework" library? :crying:
The only reason I want the Samsung apps because the plain Android ones lacks some featrues.
So I'm sure there must be some 3rd party out there wich also have these - but currently I didn't find it
Very important for me ist the possibility to link together contacts with information in several account sources (phone, several carddav sources, google, whatsapp,...).
So that all available information of a contact can be seen in one place - without loosing the possibility to keep (and edit/move/copy) the different information at different source places...
Does anybody know such a contact / dialer app which does not need the touchwiz framework?
I think there is a possibility...

There is a possibility!
First download all apps from the internet
Then move them to the framework folder
Restart your phone
Done
Exdialer and chomp sms are my favourite alternatives. Maybe you should give them a try.
I use true dealer and yaata sms. Both have development forums on "apps and games" of xda, so you can writte to developers to ask something.
Of course both app are full of customization and very useful
Install from recovery
Features full screen mode and user agent
Cred to an unknown dev on XDA (not sure where i found it)
Tested on most roms, stock and aosp.
Thanks. Only issue, which has always been an issue on the aosp browser without the proper files, is the lack of bookmark syncing.
Bookmark sync is available as another apk and sometimes already built in in the rom. I think is another compiling chain.
I noticed on my Nexus 5 with latest MM a problem in clearing history (possible only clearing app data)
I Opt for an option like Incognito mode opening as default.
bye
Is there a way to use this without it recording web browsing/search or location history? I don't care for it to be customized to me, just to answer general answers without my privacy being compromised.
Have tried the build.prop tweak to revert to Google On Tap but doesn't seem to be working.
Thanks
