Best Camera App Available - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'll be attending Lone Star Drift this weekend and I want to get some good shots. Which camera app and settings do you all recommend besides the stock camera app.

There are a ton of them, and I think I've bought all of them, but the one I've been using now for a while is DSLR Camera Pro
I have a Canon DSLR so I really like the fact that this one does a very good job of looking and funtioning like an SLR.

Procapture

SNAP CAMERA !! the best one i have ever used on an N5.. try it out.. you wont regret ! :good::good::good:

Anything in particular that you'd like? Panorama? HDR? The AOSP camera app has panorama and photo sphere modes, and there are apps in the Play Store that can give you HDR shooting. All the iPhone camera features and more are in the stock Sense camera app, which you cannot get in an AOSP ROM. You're going to get the best shooting quality with Sense ROMs since they can leverage usage of the proprietary ImageSense chip which seems to help a bit in low-light shooting.
Edit: Whoops, thought you were OP. Still, if he's looking for features from his iPhone, he can kind of get them through other apps. If he wants the Sense camera on AOSP, he's going to be very disappointed.

It was a joke

What's the best panoramic app?

What's the beat panoramic camera app? You see the iPhone and it makes it look easy, but android panoramic pic taking is a pain in the butt. Any suggestions would be awesome... thanks in advance.

Yeah that Photosynth app on iOS is awesome, I've yet to see anything remotely as good for Android.

Share your newly fresh Photo Spheres taken with SGS4!

I decided to start this topic since there was one about home screens (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2244735) and to celebrate the new breakthrough with finally enabling Photo Spheres for SGS4 i9505! (worked before with i9500).
Here's my first try: http://sphereshare.net/#!/s/d474cd663237f8ecd8dd71fce64736ab
I really like the possibilities you can have with this camera feature, although it is kind of hard to take good pictures since the lens must stay in one place and turn around it's (phones) axis.
Happy testing, photographing and posting!

One drawback though, it doesn't focus after you have started filming the sphere. That's why the other side of the pic is in focus while the further down side of the pic is whiter and not that crisp. I wish it auto-focused while taking each frame.

You can go here for the GS4 Google Edition camera with photosphere. It works in most of new devices.

Zoom FX, I think it was. That application was a heck of a top-shot. I love it!
Depends on how you want to use it.
For actual photographers, I recommend ProCapture. It has the most manual features. Other good ones are FV5 and ZoomFX.
As for auto settings and instagram filters, no idea. Hate those.

[REQ] OnePlus One Gallery and Camera app

Does anyone know if the OnePlus One gallery and camera app have been pulled (or ported.. Or exist somewhere)? I know it's not even out yet.. And the existing ones are still pending lots of fixes and OTAs.
I would imagine the camera app has lots of dependencies, but haven't seen much discussion about it.
Needless to say, the phone name isn't the best with SEO and takes some creative searching to find relevant results.
The phone has to first be released. Then whoever has it needs to post a system dump here. Once we have that we can start pulling from it. We need the physical device first.

I'm more interested in if the Oppo Find 7 camera app can be ported to the OPO so that it can take 50MP pictures.

That would be awesome! I completely forgot about the Find 7 doing the 50mp pictures.
Apple just patented taking photos at a larger resolution than the image sensor. They are calling it "super resolution". So it may only exist on iPhones in the future. I'm kind of OK with that as it doesn't provide much. Just take up more storage. It does tone down jpeg artifacting, but if you can take pictures in raw format, or can turn down compression, then it doesn't matter.

Are you f-ing kidding me? How the hell do they keep getting away with these BS patents. Corrupt american patenting system really pisses me off.

Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be seeing any 50MP shots from the OnePlus One when it comes out.
