Phone boot automatically into bootloader - HTC One S

Hello guys
I have issue with my HTC One S (S4). Phone won't load system
I had unlocked bootloader, recovery installed and rooted phone and I was trying to install ViperOne S 2014 SENSE 5 ROM. After installation I tap reboot. Phone has rebooted, but won't load system, so I restore my backup of official HTC Sense for One S. Recovery restore system, but when I reboot my phone, system has loaded, but restart automatically after 1 minute of boot and again boot system and again reboot... So I decided to run RUU RUU_Ville_U_JB_45_S_HTC_Europe_3.16.401.8_Radio_1.11.50.05.28_10.27.50.08L_release_301814_signed_2_4. I think it's good version of RUU for my phone, cause i have cid HTC__32, but it gives me ERROR [131]: CUSTOMER ID ERROR. Have I downloaded good RUU for my phone?
Video presenting my phone's booting process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVRJZKwnGNU

Please download this toolkit --> WinDroid 2.0
and check if you still have the unlock_code.bin stored on your computer. (You used this earlier to unlock the bootloader)
also download the ville stock recovery
BTW the youtube video can watched by YOU only :/ but no matter...
Start the toolkit while your phone is in fastboot mode and connected to your computer.

when downloaded open the zip and copy boot.img to your computer then copy the twisted...zip to your sd-card.
When its copied unmount sd-card from computer (First remove it safe by windows and then press unmount usb in recovery)
Perform "Wipe Data/Factory Reset" --> "Yes i will install new rom"
then you press install zip --> choose from sdcard0 --> select "twisted...zip" --> yes install
After installed the zip press "power options" in recovery --> "reboot to fastboot"
When phone is in "fastboot" mode use WinDroid toolkit to flash the kernel (boot.img) you extracted from the twisted....zip
When kernel is flashed successfully try to start your phone and see if android boots.

[Q] Problem rooting One SV (Boost)

I have followed the instructions on the root guide for this phone. I got the bootloader unlocked. When I got to this part:
3: reboot your phone into hboot and then into fastboot if you are not already there
4:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
this is presuming the recovery.img is in the same directory as fastboot, you can either move it or point the code to it directly

I start having problems. I can boot into hboot. Then I can choose fastboot. From there, there is no option for "flash recovery" but there is one for just "recovery." I choose that and my phone just reboots back to normal. Plus, on my last phone, when I erwad through the root guide, it went through making the recovery image, but this guide did not do that. I am a beginner (obviously), so what am I missing? I can't do the nandroid backup until it's rooted, and I don't have a backup image. Plus that thing with my phone rebooting back into normal usage after selecting " recovery" from the menu, what do I do about that?

Thanks. So if I want to flash a new ROM, do I do it the same way? Do I need to open the CMD prompt and type in those same commands, but point it to the ROM I want?

You need the CMD prompt to flash a recovery and from recovery you can flash Superuser to become root or flash roms (from recovery).

Ok, this is what's happening now. I hold the volume down key and power key. It boots into hboot (i think that's what it's called). I scroll down to recovery and hit the power key. It immediately goes to the logo screen with a message that says "This build is for development purposes only. Do not distribute outside of HTC ithout HTC's written permission. Failure to comply may lead to legal action."
It just stays there until I remove the battery and start over.
Am I missing a step?

Don't type this!!!
This can brick your device!
Now, what cmd did you use, look at the prompt.
The recovery seems not to be flashed correctly, thats why it is not booting to recovery!
And look, how it is written: fastboot not flashboot
Copy and paste, otherwise you can damage your phone!

Ok, I made a folder on my PC:
C:\Android
Inside that folder I have these files:
adb.exe
AdbWinApi.dll
CMD starten
fastboot.exe
Superuser.zip
trecovery.img
I moved these files to my SD card:
trecovery.img (renamed to recovery.img)
Superuser.zip
I started my phone holding the volume down, and it booted to the hboot screen with a menu that has these items:
fastboot
recovery
factory reset
clear storage
simlock
image crc
show barcode
I selected "fastboot" from the menu, and it went to a new menu with these menu items:
bootloader
reboot
reboot bootloader
power down
I plugged the phone into the USB.
I clicked the CMD starten
I typed this:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
I hit enter and got this message in the CMD prompt:
sending 'recovery' (7456 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.042s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 1.988s]
finished. total time: 3.031s
C:\Android>
When I go back to the previous menu and select "recovery" it just boots and hangs on the HTC One screen. If I take the battery out and reboot normal, it works fine with my stock Android install, like nothing happened.

I just went through the whole process again and it is working now! I must have missed something the first time.
So after it booted into recovery, I saw where it says "install zip from SD card"
I looked up the superuser.zip and installed it. It seemed to go ok, and it is rebooting now.
So this just means that the phone is now rooted, correct?

It did not install the superuser correctly because it's not in my app drawer.
I also noticed that the recovery menu is kinda shifted to the side a little bit, so it's hard to read until I start scrolling. Yeah, this has to be the wrong recovery.

Will the unrevoked3 tool work for this phone to get S-off? I just read about it, and this looks like it's for the EVO and a couple of other phones, but it's not clear on whether I can use it on the One SV.

[Q] Stuck in "FASTBOOT MODE - NO BOOT OR RECOVERY IMG"

My NExus S is stuck on the screen that says:
Fastboot Mode No Boot or Recovery IMg.
Product Name - Herring
HW Version - Rev34
Bootloader Version - D720SPRKC5
Baseband Version - D720SPRLCI
Carrier Inro - SPR
Serial Number 32300E25C33500EC
Lock State - Locked
options to select
Reboot Bootloader (gives me exact same screen) except it only says "Fastboot"
Reboot Back to the "FASTBOOT MODE - NO BOOT OR RECOVERY IMG"
Recovery (Can boot to CWM but I can't mount anything)
Power OFF (That works fine)
Then the little green man and the android logo
Followed by USB Control INIT
USB Control INIT End
STANDARD_SET_CONFIGURATION
Conventional wisdom says download some files and fix via fastboot. However in fastbootI can't run ANY of the steps without running FASTBOOT OEM UNLOCK. When I run it my phone asks if I really want to unlock the bootloader. when I choose YEs and hit power it just freezes there.
My next thought Boot to recovery and restore. A restore through recovery followed by a reboot leads me back to the original no boot or recovery img.
Okay I'll just sideload a working rom by mounting usb storage. Then I can flash it with CWM and be up and running.
but when I try to do mount the USB Storage I get "E:Unable to write to ums 1unfile (No such file or directory)"
Finally, Last ditch Effort, I'll load up ODIN and use that to put on a working recovery. there's forums all over the place explaining how to do that right? Well yes, but the links to the Tar file are all broken.
What next my friends? I'd really like to get this phone working.

what about just using adb? Can you find it when you type fastboot devices? If so there's a command in fastboot to reboot to recovery I think.
I on the other hand am screwed. I read in another forum that it hangs on unlock because the internal memory is fubar.

Solution for me:
1. Turn device on into Bootloop
2. Connect it via USB (PC founds it)
3. type in CMD "adb reboot recovery"
4. device is in recovery
5. reflash everything i wanted :good:

I think you should have downloaded the correct RUU.zip for you, and then taken the boot.img from there.
Would be a lot easier if you just flashed the ARHD!

Maybe I misunderstood, but unlocking your bootloader wipes everything. You needed to get another rom to boot.
If you installed recovery, do
1. Enter recovery (hold power + vol down on startup, select recovery)
2. In 4ext, mount usb storage, get any Rom and put in your sdcard.
3. Enable smartflash, flash Rom.
Happy to help.

[Q] Where has recovery gone?

no access to recovery
I've got big problem. My One Mini is fine until I try to go into recovery. It refuses to go there.
I get fastboot and bootloader menus fine. It enters bootloader, but if I try to go into recovery, it just goes back to the main bootloader menu.
The problem started when I flashed CWMRecovery. Fastboot and adb recognise my phone, and accept commands, but when I try to fastboot flash recovery in it sends an error message. File not found.
I tried " fastboot boot recovery.img" but that just froze the machine .
When I try to get into recovery from rom manager or ROM toolbox pro, it takes me to the fastboot menu, not into recovery, and we're back to square one, as above.
Running android 4.3 Sense 5.5 software 2.12.401.1 Supercid 11111111
rooted and unlocked
To get the phone to work again, I have to hold power down for about 10 secs direct from fastboot/bootloader...may have to do this several times before it boots into Android.
If I turn power off from bootloader, it returns to bootloader when I power up again.
If I don't turn the phone off, once in main application, it's all OK.
Ho hum.
As I say , it works like a dream until I want to go into recovery.
Any ideas, please?
Thanks

The correct command to flash the recovery is
Code:
fastboot flash recovery your_recovery_image.img
see also: wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Doc:_fastboot_intro
Booting into recovery should be possible with
Code:
adb reboot recovery
I didnt tried CWM on the Mini, but used it on my old Marvel. I'm satisfied with TWRP for the Mini.

Yes, thanks. I know the commands should work...but that's the trouble..they don't!
I can get into the recovery menu...HBOOT /FASTBOOT / RECOVERY and so on, but selecting "RECOVERY" simply sends me back to HBOOT menu.
I can't flash anything under FASTBOOT, either. I've been doing this sort of thing for several years without trouble....until now!
So come on chaps..thinking caps on , please.

Use the command - fastboot erase cache.
You should now be able to boot into recovery.

Thanks for help all round.
The RUU wouldn't run: it reported an unknown error, but having done so, it must have done something, as when I rebooted, I had access to recovery once again...briefly! Then it went again.
Anyway, I re locked / unlocked , locked a few times, and hey presto, it's sprung back into life!

plug your device in fastboot mode and select fastboot from bootloader
if you see in your hboot screen fastboot usb then your device has been recognized
you can check it also with fastboot devices

i've plug my phone, i got back a prompt from pc saying the device could not be recognized or could be broken. i tried to flash recovery but command prompt is stuck on "waiting for device". i also tried to flash older roms(even gingerbread one), i always get (status 0) error. is there a way to restore the original firmware from a ruu ? Or anything else ? Or it's officially bricked ?
I had a little progress ! the phone now can mount sd-ext, sdcard and other partition, but flash interrupts due (status 1) error. what now ?

i saw again your first post
you have locked bootoader so you are limited to fastboot commands
flash 3.33 universal from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
follow the instructions to the letter
and before flashing check md5 sums(important)
then try again flashing 4ext recovery via fastboot

Great ! just a thing: how do i check my md5 ?
I've found a way to get 4ext via zip from hboot, now recovery works againg but there is even the same problem: i can't flash any rom! just as curiosity, I enabled zip signature verification, but i'm told it's "unable to complete zip signature verification", due to some error.

navigate to the zip and select it to check the md5 sum
about that problem i don't know what to say
what error does tell you?
I dont want to open a nwer thread but since my problem is very similar I will post my problem here.
I am using andrid Revolution 7.6 and I have some problems on phone since I installed fasut123 kernel - i think my device just can manage the highest clock, so now I want to re-flash the rom. I have problem with the reading of my micro sd card.
I have a few problems
1)I got the message "mounted readonly" but I have solution how to fix that, that is the smalle rproblem.
2) the bigger problem is, when I formated the sd card, put it back in the sensation phone, and the device puts the file sistem on the sd crad and I put a cosum rom on the sd card, when I reboot in the recovery it says "error mounting sd card". Then I reboot the phone, and It just works normally, I can take videos, photos, the card is woking. But when I reboot to recovery, nothing.
I tried almost everything I thought will help, but I had no luck.
What do you think, what is going on, what is the problem?
