No sound in headphones - General Questions and Answers

I have a SM-T311 running on a CM11 unofficial builds, I found a horrible issue. So, whenever I try to listen music with my headphones plugged in, I only can hear the sound if I go to home screen. If I pull the notification drawer, the sounds will stop too. With Loudspeaker, No problem occurs like this. Now I only listen to music with loudspeaker and that's annoying I really need suggestion

You might want to report a bug to the developer of the rom, try and flash it again, sounds like you are having trouble with the sound drivers.

If you can't wait for the update you could use soundabout

[Q] All sound through bluetooth

my old HTC Aria would send all sounds, even notifications, through my bluetooth speakerphone adapter for the car. So, I could be listening to music, and hear my email notification tone, then the music would play again. I was using CM7.1 on the Aria.
So far, the Skyrocket does not do this no matter which ROM I've used. I will be listening to music through car speakers, then hear the phone speaker play my email notification, then my car speakers play music again. It's a bit odd. I haven't used CM on it, because it doesn't appear to be a "daily driver"...
Any word on if the thing will do it, or how to make it happen?
I'm fairly sure all my ROM's have done this. My stereo is a JVC.
One ROM and I wish I knew which it was, would even give my GPS a separate volume indicator so I could make the GPS much louder than the music.
None of the ROM's I've tried since then do that. They all put everything into one single Bluetooth volume.
I am using stock unrooted UCLE2, I think its called, and it works for me through the Bluetooth stereo in my Camry.

Our note ank skyrocket both do this. It has something to do with system media but i have not had time to look into it. Back when I was playing I noticed that if you use an app like zedge or video caller id to set the notification it plays over bt or headphones...if you set through system menu it plays through phone only Or sometimes you get both...

(Q) volume "jumping"?

I don't really know what else to call it but I haven't seen anyone else mention it. Whenever I have music running, at random when I touch the screen, lock/unlock/wake up my phone, or open an app, there will be a really quick high spike in the volume. It happens with the stock music player, power amp, and n7player. Anyone got an idea of what's going on or ever experienced it?

Have you installed Music Volume EQ? It happens if you close that application.

Do you have tones enabled?
In PowerAmp somewhere in the options theres something about loose focus to other players can't remember exactly but that should be disabled also DVC should be on if not.

Is that the EQ that comes with the stock player? If so, then yes.

I usually keep my phone on vibrate when I listen to music just because I get annoyed when I get a text and the tone blocks the song out for a second or three. I'll play around with poweramp and see what happens!
Has anyone else experienced this?

sometimes audio fails

sometimes when i play music or some video, the audio does not come until i plug in the earphones .. i can then hear the audio in the ear phones as well as after removing the earphones ...this happens sometimes not always ..please help!
You destroyed your phone speaker? Or maybe you need to do factory data reset
I have the same problem, but its not too frequent. I think its hardware since It still happens after I fxzed/restored. But I don't remember it happening on gb, so I'm not sure...

Same here in ics. Had to go exit the video and go to home, press volume up and hear the beep. Then audio was ok.
Do you guys have screen touch enabled? I didn't have them activated when this happened.

Google Play Music Skips

I'll start with this:
I'm on build 20 of klin1344's PACman rom
Newest version of Play Music
AC!D sound mod installed
-if I recall correctly my issue existed before I installed acid.
What I've been experiencing is skipping while playing music through be play music app. Not skipping as though it's struggling to buffer, but whenever I tap the screen, within as well as outside of the app. The issue isn't new to today's update, as it's been a problem I've always dealt with. It also doesn't have anything to do with streaming music vs playing music stored on the device, skips while tapping occur regardless.
I've searched around to no avail, so I do hope one of you can be of assistance.
Thanks

I have had this issue since I got my S3 a few weeks ago too. When I unlock my phone, type in password, or otherwise click the screen, the music skips.
This even happens when I am using Spotify to play music.
EDIT: BTW I am on AOKP ROM.
I failed to mention that poweramp runs smooth as a baby's bottom. Not the case with play music.

playback probelms
I have the same problem like it will return to the lock screen and then the Google music widget and the camera widget like combined and start flickering. this is when playing a song stored on the device as well as the new Google music access they came out with. Mine just pauses forever though and its annoying. I also have power amp and it works beautifully. this happens whether I'm on WiFi or cell data. Good thing this is a free 30 day trial!

I actually did end up figuring out what was wrong. A simple disabling of the system touch sounds and you're good to go. It was trying to compensate for the sound at the same time as playing the music, like when you get a text message it lowers the volume, plays the notification sound, and resumes at normal volume.
Jwattt I don't know why that happens, but it also happens to me. Weird.

I'm currently running liquidsmooth 2.4 on 4.2.2 android and there is no system touch sounds option. I believe this is only for touchwiz roms? I think my problem is something to do with how the widget is handled on the lockscreen. I know it's not just this rom too because I switched from MROM and before that deviant xone and since they are all pretty much based of Cyanogenmod I think it's some kind of mis match somewhere.

I had this problem as well and turning off the lock screen widget fixed it.

KitKat Headset Audio Stopping

Has anyone else come across this bug?
At first I thought it was related to Google Play Music but then I tested Power Amp and TuneIn and it's the same.
Whenever I plug in headphones and start playing audio, it works.
Then I lock the phone or switch to another app and audio is silenced.
But you switch back and it's continued playing without any output to my headphones.
Is there a solution?
i9300 running KitKat.
Anyone? :-/
