[Q] Powered USB Hub Setup - Shield Q&A

I am trying to connect my NVidia Sheild to a powered usb hub with no luck at this point.
Heres what I'm using:
Powered Hub
USB to Ethernet
OTG to USB
Male to Male USB
So I am taking the OTG to USB and connecting it to the Sheild OTG port. From there I have a Male to Male USB connecting the OTG to USB to the Powered usb hub. When I do this I can see that the Sheild's power light is orange which indicates to me that it is getting power and not acting as the USB Host for the Hub?
I did notice when I tried to use an air mouse directly with the OTG to USB it works as it should but not when it's connected to the powered usb hub instead, then nothing works (just charging). Also my ethernet adapter doesnt work via the powered usb hub or the OTG to USB.
BTW this whole physical setup worked just fine (plug and play) with both android MK808 and MK908. I was surprised that the Sheild isnt picking this up as well.
Can anyone tell me if I have incompatable hardware and if so what is compatable? Also I do not have ROOT access to the Sheild...yet, could that be the issue?
Many thanks in advance.
Chris

Does a usb hub connected to the OTG adapter allow for the tablet to charge? With a device connected as well?

[Q] Arnova 10b G3 OTG with USB HUB problem

Hi!
I have quite strange problem with Arnova 10b G3 tablet.
My OTG works well, if i connect mouse or memorystick. But when i connect usb hub with OTG cable and then connect the same mouse or memorystick to hub, then nothing happens...
I tried two different usb hub with external power and one hub with non external power - all same.
HUB models : D-Link DUB-H4 and USM-124
App "Usb Host Controller" shows that Usb HUB is connected, but why i cannot see any device connected with hub?
In some googeling i founded something about hubenable.ko - when i type command lsmod then it isnt there. hubenable.ko is not also in folder modules.
Can you please help... I need it really to finish my carputer built...
ROM i use : kasty_oma_rk29cm101v121-arn10bg3-422-070-2G

[Q] Theoretical question

Theoretical question:
While in console mode, is it possible to have the following accessories attached at once?
1. Mini hdmi out
2. Usb hub
3. Ethernet
4. External hard drive
5. External power (obviously running through usb hub) or charger
6. Bluetooth controller
Thanks in advance
I have not tried it myself, but it should work, as long as the hard drive works with it at all.
I got:
HDMI
USB mouse
USB keyboard
USB pendrive
via OTG attached at once. Haven't tried USB power and Ethernet cable yet.

How can I use both power and Ethernet OTG on an Android device using USB C ?

Hi,
I'm trying to use an android device with a USB C connector on a local wired network while still keeping it powered.
In the past I've achieved this just fine on an older device with a microUSB port and a microUSB Hub that had power + OTG USB to which I attached an USB to Ethernet Connector.
Currently I've tried using an Anker Premium USB-C Hub with Ethernet and Power Delivery.
A few months ago this hub would only power the device, but Ethernet/USB would not work.
With the latest updates (Android 7.1.1) either Ethernet works, but the device doesn't charge(if I connect the hub first, then power the hub)
or the device charges but Ethernet doesn't work (if I power the hub first, then connect Ethernet).
With the micro-USB Connector I've also spotted a pinout diagram that shows to provide power + OTG here:
http://electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/34741/can-an-android-tablet-serve-as-usb-host-and-be-charged-simultaneously-through-a
But I couldn't find an USB C equivalent pinout.
Any hints/tips on how I could both power and USB C connected Android device and keep it connected on an Ethernet Network ?
Thank you,
George

How to get non-storage USB peripherals to work?

I got an Anker OTG hub. It works completely if I connect it to my laptop, however, if I try connecting it to my phone, my USB mouse+keyboard combo (wireless with a receiver) doesn't work. It works with other devices, including my laptop's USB C port, and my old phone's USB C port.
I did turn OTG on prior to connecting anything (I'd love (root) to know to keep it on at all times).
I already ensured they work on other computers through that OTG adaptor, and that a USB storage stick works on this phone through it. In addition to that, HDMI works too (the adaptor also has an HDMI port), and the USB C passthrough passes power successfully, as well. No warp charging, but that is to be expected and that's alright.
I have TWRP and everything. Is there a kernel mod I need? I'd be happy to do whatever's needed.
Maybe OnePlus needs some updates
Even i have latency issus with my midi keyboard
But not with op5t
