I have a Nexus 5 with a Nilkin Skin , im thinking buy a wireless charger for my Nexus 5 but i have this doubt , a normal wireless charger will charge with the skin attached ? The skin are quit hard to remove ..
Depends on the thickness. I have the official qi charger, and the magnet is pretty strong so it might work with the skin.

I use the Nokia charger and it works fine with a Diztronic tpu case installed.

I have the LG wireless charger (the hockey puck), and it works fine with a Spigen Neo Hybrid case around my N5.
I use generic Qi charging pad I bought on eBay for $15, and it works fine with my bumper case, which adds around 1.5mm-2mm of thickness between the phone and pad. It works just fine.

I just bought this on amazon its a really nice cradle charger Im using it with my S4. Nicely designed grippy texture an additional slot for spare battery charging. Plus I'm using it with a 2.0 Amp charger for speedy charging. The S4 sits nicely with a case (Spigen SGP ultra slim feather light) or if your using your S4 with out a case then you attach a slide in sleeve onto the cradle so that the case less S4 sits snug. I also purchased Ravpower's 2800 Mah non NFC battery but awaiting its arrival. What's nice about it is no extended battery door needed.

Any suggestions for a Qi-Friendly Dual Layer Galaxy S4 case?
The Qi-receive I will be using is a generic PCB - thin type that sits under the battery cover.
I am considering the Spigen Slim Armor case, the Otterbox Commuter, and other dual layer (with outside material being smooth plastic) cases for under $40.
Galaxy S4 is such a fragile phone due to the thin structure, thin glass, and lack of external reinforcement.. The only metal reinforcement is the thin sheet of metal chassis.
I have already cracked the screen on my first Galaxy S4 inside a thin soft TPU rubber case and happened inside tight men jeans. Got it replaced by warranty plan.. Do not want to break it again..
PCB type Qi receivers are known for less distance and efficiency (The thicker coil, especially dual winding coils have longer range, but bulky and flaky NFC due to the unidirectional aluminum foil), and allows for less flaky NFC readings.
I am currently using the Spigen Neo Hybrid case for my S4 and it works perfectly fine with a QI charger
This mod for the SGP slim armor also works great for the Qi charger bump.

wish there's a case for the original qi case from samsung.
I just purchased a genuine Metal Slate color Slim Armor from my local store.
I insalled the Qi charging PCB receiver, and put the phone into the Slim Armor, works wonderfully.
The Qi Chargers I have used are a Japanese NTT Docomo Qi charger that came with my Fujitsu smartphone last year (which supported the Okudake Juuden), a generic white color USB based Qi Charger off eBay.
Both chargers works wonderfully, but the Docomo Qi charger has slight fast charging rates... I am using the original 2 amp charger that came in the S4 box. The Docomo Qi Charger can output 1-1.5 amps. My PCB receiver can receive around 0.7-0.8 amp (measured)
I can charge around 16-22% in an hour. When the battery hits 80%, it charges around 8-12% an hour... It also supports trinkle charge when it reaches almost full charge.
I can fully charge my brand new S4 with a brand new battery at full capacity in around 4-5 hours of time. If your battery has already worn down from discharging and recharging cycles, you can probably finish charging faster.
With the PCB Qi receiver, my NFC works very good even within the Slim Armor case..
I also tried to use the Qi receiver with the Otterbox Commuter, but has shaky connection with the charger. Even when the resonance frequencies pairs up between the receiver and transmitter, it emits a ever so slight coil frequency buzz. This is probably due to the fact that the distance between the 2 coils are at a minimal contact distance. If it charges, the charging rate is very slow, and sometimes when using the phone with light load like music listening with screen on, the battery recharging input is too low to keep up with the battery discharging rate, so I still lose battery percentage although I am plugged into the wall.
Hope this helps.
I'm using the ballistic sg maxx. It seems like a pretty thick dual layer case to me. I'm also using the wiqiqi receiver and versa charging pad and it works pretty good with my setup.

Indeed. I realized the Qi wireless charging on my Galaxy S4 has much better range distance compared to the older Palm TouchStone mod I did on my Galaxy S3.
Using the Neo Hybrid and the LG Qi charger here.
I already own the Sanwa Wireless Charger .. whilst its very good it doesnt charge through my
case.
Are there any cheap Qi Chargers that work well with cases ?
I ordered the TechMatte and Foneman receivers from Amazon. I got the TechMatte on Saturday and the Foneman should be here tomorrow. The TechMatte seems to have issues with the 3 coil Qi car charging dock. Its documented in the reviews. It doesn't seem to hold a connection with the charger and you get the charging beep every 15 - 30 seconds. Does it with or without the Otterbox Commuter case. Don't have a home Qi pad to try it with.
You will have better luck finding a unicorn.
From all that I have read, what you are looking for does not exist.

go to a verizon wireless store and ask for either the nokia or lg charging pad. They are both nice, nokia $50 LG $40:silly:
Tried the Foneman this morning on the way to work. Held connection for the entire drive and the phone was still fully charged when I got here. Was running Waze and Pandora streaming on bluetooth the whole way.

it's very strange, I have the sanwa (standing version) and same issue with yours, it will not charge my note 2 and my other phones with case, but i'm using it now with ipod with case, s 4 mini with case and S5 with case, all works very good.
Go to Gmarket and look for a iffy brand charger made in korea, looks good and has very good detection with and without case, it's a single coil one, but is not fussy about positioning.
If you can pick up a sandisk receiver, it's very good.

I have the charging coil + a metal plate behind the back cover. There is a little bulge but the back cover to the phone fits like normal. It doesn't sit perfectly flat on a table anymore without the case but I always have my case on so it doesn't bother me.

i got that unicorn beetle case (i think that's the name). it "fits" with the glass screen protector and the wireless charging back (i still have to order a qi charger for my nightstand, office desk, and car, but im still looking for a case that will fit it perfectly. i really wish samsung shipped the phones with the wireless back, or at least make it the same size. is this a mythological case that i'm looking for? will any manufacturers step up to the plate? was this an issue with the note 3? i hope i can find the perfect case with a holster!

I use a Tech21 Classic Tactical case. It stretches around to fit the qi back. Tight fit but seems to hold up well.
Not sure if there's a generic USB C dock that would fit a G5 with a rugged case? I'm getting the OtterBox Defender but if there's a rugged case+dock combo that works, I'm all ears.

Good choice on case. Case can taken a beating. Drop my phone a lot hard surface and all is fine. Dock couldn't find when I got my otterbox case

Now that I've received the Defender, I can see why there's no compatible docks - there's a rubber protective tab covering the USB port.
In hindsight maybe the ideal rugged case has wireless charging.

I don't think lg g5 supports wireless charging. I read something bout a module allowing it. But it's bulky so idk

In terms of a dock, I was more thinking a rugged case would work better having wireless charging built into its backing (and connect to the phone's USB port). It would mean a dock would only need to hold the phone upright, with a blank panel at the rear of it to house the charging element. Best of all worlds.
I ordered a knockoff of the kidigi adjustable one like this:
XCSOURE New KiDiGi USB Type-C Cradle Charger Dock For Google Nexus 6P 5X BC517 https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B019W0J5YU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_TP.MybAKDKZME
It actually works well with my Spigen case.
