Hi all! I was wondering if you could tell me an app that can block the built in browser from opening like iOS Restrictions in the settings has. It's for me to stop my son from getting frisky lol.

Simple, root the device and freeze the browser using the app System Tuner or Titanium Backup Pro

Hi, I am going to flash the new DFT freedom ROM later today to my HTC Mozart. is there an app that allows me to list all currently installed apps and games so i can easily search them later? the Zune purchase history doesn't really help as i don't have most of these apps installed anymore.
regards
Localhorst86
I agree... such thing would really be useful. I also need such a thing also for my ipad!
I bump this question to know if TODAY something similar would exist ...
So : is there any app than can list all currently installed app on the device ?
There is an app called "reinstaller" in the marketplace. It however does not list installed application but a list of all apps ever "purchased".

And the worst thing it that this app lists also all the times you updated an application...
changing you DNS to something like OpenDNS will load up market way faster.
Description
SetDNS is the easiest way to force your rooted phone to use custom nameservers on WiFi AND 3G/mobile networks.IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT NON-ROOT FUNCTIONALITY
Non-root functionality will be DISABLED with the next release and published as a separate app. See notes at the end of this description.

Hello
As the title states, I'm interested in removing facebook (first I've wrote faceboob - I wonder why?!), twitter and other useless things (for me - I'm an anti-social networks) that are in my phone. And here's the list of what I want off my phone and which is eating up memory:
3D Space - cause there's other links to do that
3D Games&Apps
Adobe Reader - not using it ever
Browser - I found Opera more suitable
Guided configuration - already know how to use it
Facebook - never use it and no intent to use
Maps - I will never have a internet mobile connection so, as is internet related, I won't use it
SNS - ????
Street view
Talk
Twitter
Video editor
Voice search
What's new
I'm talking about apps and services that have not the Uninstall option. And we're talking about 30 Mb of memory
Thanks for your help
Root your phone and get Titanium backup, it can do what you like.

But won't affect functionality of the phone by using Titanium backup? Thanks anyway for the answer.

Two completely different categories I know. But here's my list, if there are good suggestions I'll add them.
Non-Market Apps
Faceniff (Hijack Facebook/Twitter sessions, this has a high douchebag rating. Use it to educate your friends about https setting on social networks)
WifiKill (Does what it sounds like, again very high douchebag rating)
SMSBomber (again, not on the market for a reason)
Root Apps:
SD Maid (cleans stuff)
AdAway (blocks stuff)
Titanium Backup (backs up stuff)
ROM Toolbox (whole bunch of stuff)
ROM Manager (not as much stuff)
Six Axis Controller (hook up a ps3 controller via bluetooth and stuff)
Undelete (undelete stuff)
Root Apps:
Titanium Backup (paid version.....every flash-a-holic like me should pop for the paid version)
ES File Explorer
System Tuner
PC Apps:
adb (necessity for any modder/developer )
APK Tool (also necessity for any modder/developer)
Personally moved away from Root Toolbox for System Tuner and ES File Explorer. I've learned enough now to replicate most you can do in Rom Toolbox, but it was great in the beginning.
Favorite non market app: Network Sniffer. Its hilarious to redirect all website traffic on your network to a single website. Or change all the pictures to troll face. Definitely high on the mischievous list.

This could be my new favorite app...
Installed today... looking good!!!
It allows for multiple users on JB...
I created a user for my wife and so far its clean. She has her own homescreens, etc...
It is the first generation of the GUI but it is basically just doing command lines stuff that is already built into JB...

Just do a quick google search. All three are pretty easy to find.
Great apps guys. I will be checking back to see more great apps revealed to me.
Faceniff was great on my HTC Aria. Oh how I screwed with somebody on Facebook using wifi in a hotel...
I'm on CM10 and Faceniff just FCes. I think the drivers don't work with it.

So are we still going to be able to receive updates for apps like AdAway? Maybe there should now be a dedicated subforum.

I pulled the APK from my phone so hopefully I can install it off of that in the future. Adaway blocks via HOSTS file, so you can edit that manually (download and merge ad server lists into a text file, push to your android device)
EDIT: Or you can just flash this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1916098
Looks interesting.

I think the difference is that DroidWall acts like a firewall (respectively is a firewall) blocking the whole traffic of an app and not only blocking access to ad-servers

Seems like it's "interfering" with an app in the same way as ad blockers, according to Google's own language.

That's the difference. It does not interfere with an app. It's blocking the network connection like when you disable it yourself.
Btw when Google would be really strict with interpreting their "laws" they have to block all privacy protecting apps (like lbe) and also nearly every root app and then they will get a problem with users and several privacy organizations and governmental institutions. :cyclops:
So stay and lets see what the future brings...
I wish they Google makes them come back !
Avast conjures up images of bloatware and sluggishness.
But it is a surprisingly good replacement.
