How to Restore Asus TF101 to Orignal FW? - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I am looking to restore my Asus TF101 to it original FW, hope someone could help me.
Currently I have a Asus TF101 with Rogue XM Recovery 1.5.0 (CWM-based Recovery v5.0.2.8), I have boot into recovery but unable to see an option to restock original FW.
I have also:-
1) Enable USB Debugging
2) Connect my Asus to my PC
3) Start 1-Click Transformer Root 1.1. bat
However it load up it seem to try to install adb-drives with dpinst_x86, even though I have already install dpinst_x64. It then stay on the, without any indication of installing.
"Waiting for device for first step...
If you didn't have derivers then this can take up to 5 mins"

Download the ROM from ASUSs site, flash it from recovery, Im on my tablet right now so posting links is a pain, if you google for TF101 ASUS you should find it
EDIT -http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=Eee+Pad+Transformer+TF101&os=32

It will be good to tell more about your root.
How do you root ?
Which guide have you use ?
Which version of your TG ? before the root?
etc, more infos will be good for a good help
ASUS tf300t fix root permissions error
this was the best place i could think to post this.
I can see that you are somewhat versed with my series of tablet so im hoping maybe you can help me.
I previously had rooted my device and did so pretty easily (fastboot flash CWM-Touch, root-signed.zip) yadda yadda.
Then I deciced i wanted to install CM 9.1(stable)[or so it said]
Downloaded the build onto sd card, wiped my caches and data and all that...CWM install .zip,(good), reboot, stuck at inital cold-boot screen with ASUS and TEGRA powered by NVIDIA logos.
Found a solution to that problem @ transformerforums.com- did a fastboot: flash system blob w/original JB OTA build (took forever, i even thought it froze my computer) i had to download from the asus support site and got the tablet up and running again....BUT, and this is the kicker, no root. I tried using CWM-touch to reinstall root-signed.zip, successful. Hit reboot and CWM popped up with your user su binary may be damaged. Repair? yes. Reboots fine, but then i tried to access a program that needed root, ERROR! IS DEVICE ROOTED? pops up... I checked my /system/xbin/su. still there but couldnt do anything with it...
ANY SUGGESTIONS TO HELP WOULD BE AWESOME. This isn't the first device ive cracked so im not exactly new but dont know enough about this to try fix anymore than what ive done and ive searched the forums over for the past four days and cant find anyone or anything that is similar to whatim experiencing...
please help.
Sincerely, SIK
P.S.-DONT USE CWM-TOUCH V6.0.3 ON THIS TABLET. YOU CANT MAKE RECOVERIES!!! IT SAYS IT DOES BUT DOESNT BUILD ANYTHING!

[Q] Bricked TF101, tried brk tool, easyflasher, peri

Good day, I am new here as a member. I think I bricked my TF101. The other day I installed 2 apps from play store if i remember it it was yousendit. I am running on stock ICS. then it just automatically turned off. i tried to turn it on again but when it goes into the asus screen with circling dots it just turns off again. tried cold booting it, still the same. then i used wipe data. but an hour has past still my tablet is still showng the android with a rotating orb in its belly. so last night i downloaded every tool i could research. first i tried PERI but it says it does not recognize my device, then i use brks tool v8, i tried installing stock rom as instructed, no success. then i tried easy flasher today and now i cant even see the first boot screen.
I hope you can help me, i use this tablet at work and presentation to my clients. I am new with this OS and seems that i wrecked my tab by solving it myslef, I hope this was not the case. BTW i have a B60 tf101. i bought it second hand with my savings so i have no warranty.
can you please give me a step by step solution, i am very desperate here, thank you.

Easy flaher is the way out,
1) Download universal naked driver and unzip into a folder
2) Download latest Asus transformer firmware and put it in firmware folder.
3) Uninstall all Asus drivers from your laptop.
4) Disconnect your laptop from WiFi/internet and make it offline
4) Now plug your tablet and let windows install required driver.
5) If windows cannot install driver( mostly it won't as laptop is not connected to the net) then use "manually install driver" option and select the folder where you downloaded and unzipped "universal naked driver" and that should install the naked driver.
6) If that doesn't then goto device manager, there you should see unknown device, select it and update the driver manually.
7) Once the driver is installed, then unplug the tablet
8) now connect the tablet back and press volume up and power button together till laptop starts installing APX driver.
9) If it doesn't then try repeating step 5 or step 6 and that will install APX driver.
10) Launch EASY FLASHER and unroot and install stock ROM...
Good luck

Thanks in advance.

I tihnk a PART of your issues is that you got the wrong file. Instead of the WW version you should be using the US_epaduser file. This is of course thinking that you are in the USA.
I downloaded the WW version thinking that the pad was bought here in the Philippines (second hand). Or maybe I am wrong. Thanks for the idea I'll download the other update and give it a try.
You have a B60 tablet, just use NvFlash via APX mode manually. Much less room for error than anything else IMO, first download image from here http://xdafileserver.nl/index.php?dir=Asus/Asus+Transformer+(TF101)/STOCK+ROMS/ICS+.27
Pick WW for ww tablet, or US for us tablet. (I believe yours will be a US tablet, purchased in the Philippines)
Then download wheelie (NvFlash tool) from androidroot.mobi. Copy and paste the files into the other folder you downloaded earlier, overwrite everything with the newer wheelie files.
Put TF into APX mode (Power off, hold volume up while plugged into computer, power back on, screen will remain black and computer should detect device in APX mode.)
Run Reflash_sbkv1.bat (make sure it is sbkv1 not sbkv2 as you have a B60)
If runs successfully you should be unbricked.
You can then reroot with PERI or other if desired.

It doesn't matter what version of Asus you download ( I'm in US and I downloaded WW version), but can you explain what problems you facing while you try to follow the steps I mentioned... also screen shot of laptop would help I have bricked my tablet at least 10 times and easy flasher (wheelie) always brought it back....

Pics and more info would help ^^
Easy flasher *should* work, from what I've heard of it.
I was wondering what's supposed to happen after I launch sbkv1, my tablet just seems to disconnect and the screen stays black.
im trying on whellie tonight
so here are my screenshots. i downloaded from the link you gave me, and downladed wheelie then extracted wheelie on the same folder as the rom. clicked on reflash sbkv1 and on to the next screenshot, how many minutes sholud i wait for it, it says done, but when i switch on my TF nothing happens.
I followed again the whelie using the US and this happened. will it automatically boot my TF or should i manually boot it?
I also used easyflasher and i got stuck with this? what am I doing wrong?
guys i found the box of my TF and shot a pic of the serial number just to be sure.
i researched a bit on other forums and i think im in an permanent apx loop which some say is unsolvable. is this true? i hope not.

As far as I can understand, your laptop is recognizing your tablet in APX mode otherwise easy flasher won't work. So plug it back in apex mode and click on "flash Asus stock zip" it will push stock unrooted Asus rom, WAIT for it to finish, it might take some time but WAIT!!! Once its totally finished then you can reboot into a stock ROM.... WAIT for EASY FLASHER to finish.
if you like to root again then use the same to flash recovery and superuser

Thank you for your reply sir. I waited but it seems the while flashing as shown on the screen the TF gets disconnected. I counter check it on the device manager and the "nvidia boot reccovery" was not showing.
It never happened to me, it takes time but it always pushed stock zip through, if that's not happening then I'm out of ideas. I'm sorry to say I'm out of ideas. But sometime back I saw some where, some one suggested a way to unbrick using ADB, I'm not not sure how to ho about it, search the forum, you might find it.. good luck
Following is the last option if nothing else helps and no one can provide you an answer then try following
Instead of flashing Asus stock ROM, Use easy flash to push twrp recovery, i know its not conventional but if you get recovery then you can flash a custom rom... GOOD LUCK

Thank you very much sir for your time and to all that replied to this problem. It really disconnects after formatting the 10th partition. I researched on how to use the ADB and that requires a lot more knowledge on programming. I will still try the last option, im crossing my fingers it will work or else ill call the asus service center her in the Philippines. Hopefully they can fx it and it wont be an expensive fix. Thanks again!

[Q] TF300t bricked? Bootloop, no adb, no fastboot but APX accesible

Hi everyone, first post here, but I've been reading this forum for some time now.
I've got an asus transformer pad tf300t 3 days ago. Last night, I tried to install cyanogenmod10, I unlocked the device, and installed clockworkmod, everything was fine until I accidentaly entered recovery mode and wipe all data, now the tablet only shows the asus logo and enteres in to a bootloop (I think). I can't enter recovery mode, ADB doesn't recognize it, fastboot neither and I can't even turn it off. I can't enter recovery, it just shows me the asus logo again.
HOWEVER, I waited until the battery drained, connected the usb cable to the tablet (not in the computer) pressed + volume button and without releasing it, connected to pc. Now the computer detects new hardware. I already installed the driver and it says "ASUS TRANSFORMER PRIME APX INTERFACE". Now, i'm not sure if it's the correct driver, but according to hardware administrator, it works fine.
Now, the real cuestion: Is there anything I can do from apx mode to save my tablet? A new bootloader maybe??
Thanks everyone
PS: Sorry for the bad english, It's not my language
from the loop,If you hold the power button for 10s when reboot and immediatly press the volume down button, what you have asus loop or the screen with the 3 icons (RCK ecc) ?

To answer your question about apx, no unless you received your tablet with ICS 4.0 and installed Nvflash.
Check my signature for a guide for apx and bootloader menu. Look below the apx section for the bootloader information. Try each from beginning to end except removing the back and disconnecting the battery. If you complete the list and still have not seen a change start with #1 and try them again and again. It is surprising but as you go through the list things have a way changing.
Good Luck!

Use of the bootloader information may allow access to recovery, adb, or fastboot. Access to any of the three may allow the ability to recover your tablet.

Rayman the dev and op for nvflash suggests this as a first option.
nvflash -r --download 4 blob.EBT
nvflash -r --download 10 blob.APP
nvflash -r --download 6 blob.LNX
nvflash -r --download 5 some_ics_recovery.img
Here is the thread where he posted this info.
If you wish you can use blobtools to create your own.

Of course, my tablet had the bootloop error with TWRP and the new 4.1.2 JB update.
When my device had stock ICS ROM (long time ago), I followed this tutorial, this allow you to create some backup files from your device, which in the future will allow you flash your tablet througth APX mode (more powerfull that fastboot mode) and the NVFLASH utility
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1894867
The only isue is that you need a pre-JellyBean bootloader (ICS) in order to make those backup files, if you are in a JB stock ROM (JB-bootloader), you can't make this backup files (Asus block the way that we can backup this files on JB ROMs).
With my backup files, the nvflash tools (from the tutorial above), and the instrutions that post tobdaryl, I manage to restore my tablet to an ICS ROM
If you are interested, there is a online petition (but i don't remember were :silly asking that Asus allows the NVFLASH backup utility on JB-bootloaders. With NVFLASH and ours backup files, we can restore our devices from any type of soft-brick.
In the case that your TF300 had and stock ICS (or you can flash it one), I can assist you in the case that you have troubles making the nvflash backup files with the tutorial
Would be nice if you could use someone else's file to fix a brick. Has anyone tried it.

Could You explain step by step which driver and how do you get up Yours TF300T?
I have the same problem, only recovery starts (TWRP2.5.0.0)
possible brick?...
After downgrade the console from the v. 4.2 to 4.1, following tutorials in this forum, because it would not let me install a Custom Rom (yes the recovery, not the root) I can think of to make a choice Wipe from the Stock 4.1 Recovery and restart WW I stand still Asus logo, white, and trying to restart pushing Recovery again, I go and I follow the fixed logo. I do not recognize the device SDK and have seen many posts and I can not find the solution ... buf! Someone has been the same? ... The strange thing is that lights ...

If you cannot access to fastboot, IMHO there's nothing you can do. I am in your same boat: no adb and fastboot access, my PC recognize the tablet only in APX mode but with NVflash I cannot do anything because I not have a backup.
Bye
EDIT: I am in this situation after a wrong recovery flash. I flashed a new recovery but I could not load it and I made the (big) mistake to try a wipe from the recovery menu. My Tf300t is now stuck at asus logo and I cannot access to the bootloader anymore. I do not know what to do, is the tablet definitely bricked or there's something I can try before going to ASUS service?
Thanks in advance.
Bye

[Q] Bricked TF101

Hi,
It would seem that I have inadvertantly bricked my TF101 during the process of trying to root, and install TWRP in order to put on KatKiss. I used Baidu Root to root which appeared to have completed successfully and then tried using CWM (I now know about the incompatibility issues concerning CWM and the TF101) to install the rom. Now, in its current state, the TF101 does not turn on at all. I have tried many guides but the problem I am having which I attribute to the many unsuccessful attempts is that for example, using EasyFlasher, the APX device would disconnect itself. I have tried to restore the device by reflashing the stock rom (WW) using both SBKv1 (wheelie crashes during the process every time, and then the device would disconnect), and SBKv2 (after clicking OK on the APX prompt box, the device disconnects). I have also tried using nvflash and Prime without any success. My device is a B70, and was running Android 3.2 (Honeycomb?).
Please let me know if there is any more clarification or information required that I have missed out on.
Thank you all in advanced for any help or suggestions,
- Tone

[Q]Trying to install TWRP on TF300T

Hi!
I've begun trying to rebuild my ASUS Transformer tab, and I've done this so far:
Used KingRoot to install root
Used the Asus Unlock Tool app
Now, you're wondering what the problem is. Well...My tab didn't come with the USB cable, rather, a pure AC adapter cable for the asus tab, so I have no way of connecting this to my PC.
I've tried downloading apps like Flashify, TWRP Manager, and Official TWRP App, and they don't work. Whenever I tap on "Device" in any app, the app itself stops working. I have TWRP on a micro sd card, and neither app opens it.
I'm trying to figure out if there's something I'm missing, or if I'm somehow doing all this work for nothing, and there's no way to flash the TF300T without a PC.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry, but I have never heard that an Asus tablet came without USB cable!
I suggest you are on stock rom 4.2 Jelly Bean. First of all go to settings ->Build-Number touch it seven times in order to open the Dev Options. Then go back to Developer Options ->check USB-Debugging.
After that install the Asus PC Suite on your PC (see attached), because of the included USB driver. Then install the Asus USB driver on your PC. That should it be!

Hi!
I've begun trying to rebuild my ASUS Transformer tab, and I've done this so far:
Used KingRoot to install root
Used the Asus Unlock Tool app

Do yourself a favor, buy an original Asus USB cable and get fastboot adb working between the tablet and your PC.
Really.
That is the best way to flash a recovery and your safety net. If something goes wrong and you do not have adb and fastboot you're pretty much out of luck.
That said, Flashify should flash the recovery just fine and I don't understand your description. Haven't used Flashify in a long time, but you choose "Flash Recovery", select the file and flash it. Where does that not work for you? Screenshots please.
Do NOT let Flashify or TWRP Manager download the recovery for you and make sure they flash the file to the correct partition. Download TWRP from Teamwin's website yourself. That is the only acceptable way to use these apps.
The correct partition to flash the recovery image to would be mmcblk0p4
