Hi, I have a Moto X from sprint that I'd like to use on T-Mobile.
I've seen listings on eBay for Sprint Moto X that are unlocked for use on any carrier so I believe it's possible.
I've researched and can't find any way to unlock it without a sprint account.
I've read the terms of unlocking (found here) and as far as I can tell anyone with a sprint account should be able to call up customer care and unlock my phone.
I've talked to a user on here that says if I get my phone unlocked and sent him some files after the OTA unlock he may be able to find a way to let others unlock their Sprint Moto X phones.
If someone could help me I'd be willing to send them a few bucks via PayPal.

Make sure whoever buys it for you in the States, activates it and asks Verizon to unlock it! You may have serious trouble unlocking it otherwise! Please review the threads here asap.
Hopefully you got it from retail Verizon store and not from Best Buy or something. If you already got the phone, see if unlock code you can purchase online works. PM me if you want to know sources known to provide working (if you are lucky of course) unlock codes. Depends on your case, online unlock code may or may not work. We do not know yet what is exactly the issue with unlocking, all we know is phones purchased from Best Buy unactivated do not accept unlock codes (If somebody can prove me wrong - please chime in!!). So far confirmed is unlocking works for the very first batch of phones (sold before non-Verizon stores picked up the phone) and for phones which were activated abd used on Verizon network.
I just bought a cheap att android phone. Its the prepaid zte avail. I called att for an unlock code, and they said prepaid phones are not unlockeable. Anyone know if this is true? Thanks.
All phones are unlock-able, if could possibly specify your phone in more detail, then I could find a cheap site for you
It is a zte avail. Model z990. Thanks.
Figured it out.........
I have the same problem
You said you figured it out, what did you do, I have the same problem with my at&t avail.
I was trying to unlock it to port my number to straight talk. For that there is no need. So i didn't ever get it unlocked, but didnt need to.
First of all, I'm sorry if there's a thread that answers this question, I looked for it and had no luck finding it.
One of my relatives brought her Verizon HTC incredible 2 from the US to her sister (to Armenia) but it's locked to Verizon so she can't use it here. I know that this phone's hardware can't work on T-mobile and/or At&t but I've heard that it can work on other, international bands. I (my relative who owns the phone) contacted Verizon from US and asked to unlock it but they refused to do so, saying that it's made for Verizon so it can't be unlocked. I just wanted to know whether there's a way of unlocking it or not, and if there is a way then how is it? I've seen online sites that offer unlocking codes for around 15$ but I kinda don't trust them. I'm completely new to this and have no idea whether rooting will help or not. Please help me out here.
Thanks in advance,
Raul
Anyone? Please say whatever you know, I really need help.
Is it possible to unlock the bootloader on the Verizon Moto G Prepaid?
I want to use this a a remote for my Home Entertainment System so I am not wanting to activate the phone at all. I just want to flash another rom to get rid of the constant request to activate the phone.
I searched this site and all over the Internet and found answers that said basicall it could not be done - but they were all over a year old - just thought something might have happened recently.
I know there are people working on it. And that you can only rate now to unlock the bootloader you have to use SunShine S-Off... But it cost money like $25.
I bought my Samsung Galaxy A71 5G from a refurbished phone seller on ebay only to find out that it was locked to AT&T. I want to use the phone with boost mobile. Phone does NOT have bad ESN so I will not be in trouble for unlocking the phone but I can find literally find NO ONE to help me unlock it. EVEN FOR MONEY. Companies have gone through all the options to unlock with a code generator and still nothing. I guess the phone is too new or idk what but it's irritating af. I found a post on here years ago that helped me unlock a Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX HD (and other models), so I know the software has to be available somewhere. Someone please help!!!
ATT is the easiest carrier to get unlocks, if your phone meets their criteria, regardless you'll find that out here:
