Idk if this issue is widespread or not, I'm just reporting it here, in case anyone has faced it and/or has a method to fix it.
Pretty simple issue, YouTube just won't launch, when I tap it I get the classic "YouTube stopped working" notification and that's it. It happened to me on Cataclysm the other day, now I switched to a fresh PA build after a full wipe but I'm still dealing with the same issue. Am I the only one getting this or the app is simply broken right now on this device/KK, and an update is going to fix the problem soon? Instatube isn't working either BTW, I get fc as soon as I try to log into the proper YouTube thing inside the app.
works fine here, has always worked. uninstall it. if you have a custom recovery, wipe dalvik and cache, boot up, install from the play store. if no custom recovery, uninstall, reboot, then reinstall from the play store.
This is weird. If I remove the updates it works, but then once it auto updates it FCS again. Wat.

dont let it auto uodate. remove the update, reboot, install from tbe play store. best would be for you to uninstall it first(if its a system app, you need root).
Same here keeps fc

LOL. Removed the system app completely, installed from store: here we go again, fc madness. This is just getting weirder and weirder...

Sure, I install modules like a mad man all the time. Can that be the culprit?

OK then. I'll try to uncheck them all and report back.
Edit: it turns out it was the YouTube Adaway module messing up. I just unchecked that one and it's all fine.
Edit2: in b4 wizard.

Not sure if many of you know this but there is a feature in CWMR called fix permissions. This is a handy feature to use if you're getting FC's that can't be cleared by going to /settings/applications/manage applications/name of app/clear data.
For examply, I just did a restore of RebelROM and the first time I went to open ICS Camera I got a FC. Cleared data, restarted the app, FC. So I booted into CWMR and fixed permissions and upon reboot the camera now works fine. Just a heads up for those who aren't familiar with this feature.

What's an "FC"?
I tried the "Fix Permissions" feature just to see how it worked. It completed after a few minutes and everything seems to be working just as well as it did before.

If you had no problems before fixing permissions, you won't see anything different. This is only for those having fc issues or other app related issues that arent fixed by more standard means. It's not a guarantee this will fix it either, just another thing to try along the way.

Hi there there is a counter running after the 'done!' message, any idea what is this?
Thanks man! fixed my problem

Mine was not 10 seconds but it did get done with 3 or 4 minutes (Galaxy S3 CWM v5.5.0.4). I realized after posting that this was not a thread for my phone, but I thought I'd let you know that it was not instantaneous even on my device (also you can thank Google for sending me to this thread instead of my normal lurking grounds (S3 / Nexus 10)).
[Q] Please help! "unfortunately the process com.android.systemui has stopped"
I have a rooted nexus 5 running CM11. I kept getting this message before and I didn't know why so I posted here and someone told me to wipe my data so I did. That fixed the problem for about 2 weeks but it's back again. It happens so frequently now its very frustrating. It happens when I open an app, update an app or uninstall an app. Not every time but most frequently when updating. Why is this happening?! Please help and thanks in advance!
Just reflash your ROM or flash a different ROM and your problem should be fixed

Do you use Xposed or any theme mods? Probably something like that causing it.
As spinninbsod said, just dirty flash your ROM again or clean flash a new one.

Cool, just make sure none of the mods are trying to do the same thing, like change battery icon etc.
If you're reflashing ROM it also might be worth taking a fresh back up before reactivating Xposed, just to save reflashing if something ***** up again

I think its XBLAST TOOLS that's giving me the problems. I don't get that error until I open the app.

Ok that's a good start. Can you remember what you were using it to do? There's probably a similar settings in XGEL or Gravity Box.

As soon as I open xblast I get the error. I just uninstalled it and I'm trying gravity box now to see if it was just xblast. And what do you mean what I was using?

Yes. I had like everything enabled. I changed things in the status and notification bar and I also did stuff to my lock screen and a few other tweaks.

You can change all that stuff in GravityBox and XGEL so might be best to just use those instead
Due to an update of an Xposed module, I had badly corrupted my systemui. The phone was totally unusable, and I could only press the OK button notifying the stopped event at startup.
Lucky me, I still had not updated to 4.4.3. Via Skipsoft Android Toolkit I updated to the last Android release, and my systemui got fixed. I did not choose to perform a complete wipe, so I actually maintained my previous apps. In relation to root, I did not loose it, but I had to reinstall SuperSU to get the non-official apps working again.
I hope this helps somebody else in my same condition, with no need to do a system wipe!
thank you. this helped me today.
woke up with the error. assuming its gravitybox and xblast causing an issue. will remove xblast.

Xposed does not actually "touch" or change SystemUI in any way. Xposed puts a couple of "files" in system which allows intercepted commands to be changed, without changing the actual code.
When you updated the ROM via a toolkit (PLEASE don't use toolkits by the way) you would have overwritten these Xposed files.
The simplest fix is to just remove the Xposed files

Sorry I meant app...
If any case..
1. There's a problem with the app
2. You should wipe dalvik and cache if possible.
3. If options 1 and 2 aren't viable try clearing data and cache of all applications and that should do it.
I am using sultans 6.0 ROM first all things go well and I have been using it for many weeks but today play services are stopping again and again impossible to use my phone also tried by clearing cache from TWRP but not helped
Just perform a clean flash again.

Reflash the recommended GApps from sultanxda thread.
I guess it's open gapps.
If above doesn't work for you then
Dirty flash your ROM and flash GApps.

Check your app ops permissions for Google Play Services... you must enable wake up permission, otherwise it will FC every 3-5 seconds... this is valid if you're on 8.3.xxx version. Previous 8.1.15.xxx verions does not have this "issue".

Hi guys, so I didnt know that you had to unhide magisk in order to update, this morning I got the notification to update it, clicked on it, and boom, doesnt open anymore, opens for a split second and crashes.
uninstalled the shortcut, installed the apk again, but still same, won't open. Root and everything works as usualy, but It won't open the app.
I run stock OS with just magisk for rooting and some modules.
is there a way to uninstall it completely? I imagine being hidden its still installed under another package name, I tried searching for it but can't find anything....
I hope there is a solution that doesnt require wiping and starting over......
Thanks!!
FIXED, I had version 25206 installed, and when updating to 25207, it wouldnt open, found another apk of 25206, reinstalled, it works now!
For some reason, can't seem to update it, I unhide magisk, update the app, its back to not opening, something is wrong here and I cant figure out what exactly.
I've never unhidden Magisk before updating fwiw...

me neither, but I read somewhere you had to unhide it before updating just in case, thing is now it wont update, doesnt matter if its hidden or unhidden, after installing, it just crashes on opening.
EDIT: seems like its a common issue with canary builds. will wait for a fix.

Canary Magisk 25207 had a bug in it which prevented the app from opening. It has been fixed so hopefully a new build will be released soon.
