[Q] No SD card available (HTC One S) - General Questions and Answers

Dear all,
I was flashing a new ROM and as usual I backed-up my phone before. The new installation didn't work and it got stuck rebooting. I went to the recovery mode and tried to recover my data but when it said successful and rebooted it got stuck again. So I decided to install again the ROM I was using, and it worked. It allowed me to recovery my backup, BUT without the SD-card functioning. Apparently I lost all my data, I can't use any of the apps related to the internal storage, there's no sd card now. I tried mounting the device through the recovery but the computer doesn't recognise it.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,

I already solved it, I flashed a new recovery and got access to the sd card again.
Thanks anyways

[Q] Vibrant wiped, and phone thinks internal memory is sd card

I was attempting to install a custom ROM on my T-959 Vibrant, and upon the suggestion of a friend, did a factory reset before I tried to install the rom. Now the ROM will not install (it shuts down when it cant mount the data), and my phone will not boot. I can get into the recovery menu, and into download mode (although ODIN will not connect to my phone in download mode for some reason). Also, for some reason, when my recovery menu is supposed to go to the sd card, it goes to the internal memory. Can anyone help?
Are you using the Vibrant tool kit?

I found this very useful.. I flashed to stock, rooted then used that to flash a rom on.
If you aren't using it then I'd suggest trying it, if you are using it then I don't know.

Infuse not mounting SD card

Hello all,
My little brother has bought this phone a few months ago and he is having the error above. I am able to see the sd card via recovery but once the os has loaded the sd card cannot be mounted. I've tried with three different SD cards already, same issue. I've even tried to format it on the phone to no prevail. I was going to try another rom to see if that fixes the problem but since the os cannot mount the sd card I cannot put the files on the phone. When I try to mount via PC it doesn't recognize it at all. PLEASE HELP!

If you can see the SD card mounted in recovery then you should be able to flash the ROM. Can you not see your files in recovery? Is the phone rooted?
The phone is rooted but I cannot get to cwm. I always get to stock recovery "Android system recovery <3e>" and when I try to flash it gives me the signature verification error.

First sounds like you do not have cwm. See my links in my signature for the iset page, there are odin and one click methods listed and while your add it just to help you better understand read my other link, i understand your doing this for your brother...
I've installed a Gingerbread rom from Jscott30 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1613523 that came with CWM and I installed a CWM alone via Odin. The rom said it came with everything I needed but I can't boot into the CWM.
I actually had the same problem with the SD card.I was also using the same Gingerbread Rom .I tried installing CWM separately still i was getting the signature verification error. So i went ahead and installed the rooted stock version which was available from the below thread

Now i am using the REMICS rom and the SD card problem has been fixed.

Help please

Hi i have my asus transformer and i flashed twrp 2.2.1 touch for it. I was having trouble clearing data and formatting it. I had a rom Revolution hd on the internal sd. so i flashed clockwork mod latest and rebooted to recovery. i cleared data skipping /data/media for the internal sd card. then when i went to try to flash revolution hd it appeared as if the internal sd was wiped. i checked everything and it appears as twrp did clear data but still just kept saying fail. mow im stuck with clockwork which only reads internal sd and no boot cuz it got formatted by twrp too. i have tried adb and nv flash etc but cant get any working. my computer doesnt recognize my transformer for nothing. im on WINDOWS 7 ultimate 64 bit. i have tried mostly every possible fix but doesnt work. i have also tried download mode but no luck. IM THINKING LINUX MAY BE THE WAY TO GO??? ANY SUGGESTIONS???
Had you taken backup of current ROM ? Do you have external SD card ? In my case, all the backup from CWM recovery is kept in external SD card only. Otherwise, you can try to MOUNT the SD card from recovery, I think it is in advanced option. If you are able to MOUNT, then you can copy the ROM and flash it again.
If you can get APX mode working (holding vol up,down and power at same time at boot) and your computer recognizes it, give whitekidneys EasyFlasher a go (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1688012) to get TWRP back on, then restore back ups etc as gurung_vishwas1 said they are located on the external sd card. try updating TWRP to the latest version also

im on ClockworkMod Recovery v5.5.0.4 roach-tf101-r2 i dont see an option to mount the sd card. Yes i had a backup too but it got wiped off when twrp wiped data but kept saying fail. I think it was just a bad flash of twrp.

Thing of Doom will be able to help you much better then i can. The only thing i can think of is to install asus sync, which i belive comes with all the required drivers. Or you could try the universal naked driver (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1514942) but i havn't used it so i dont know if it will work for your situatio.

Can you still get into recovery? If so use adb to push the ROM to the phone.
Why did you format everything and the SD card... That as you found out wipes everything out. Even if you had a backup on the device it would of wiped it. You should always keep a backup of the device and efs saved off the device to a PC.
Hold the power button for 20 seconds, that'll turn off the phone. Then boot into recovery and adb push a Rom to it. If you can't do that then fastboot flash the factory image
Sent from my Nexus 5
Thankyou guys for your comments~!
I finally figured out.
To fix this what i did was
1.to boot the phone , pressed volume volume down+power.
2.installed the CW recovery using adb.
3.went in to the CW recovery and selected "install zip from sideload".
4.installed CM 11 succesfully using adb.
5.done!!
Now everything looks good but
my sim card is not getting detected.
I doubt the radio software didnt install at all.
Please let me know if i need to install any other software or i am missing something here!!

files on SD card not showing in recovery

I am about the flash a custom firmware on my UK Xoom wifi.
I have done it previously several years ago, but am learning all over again how to do it.
My problem is, I have unlocked it and installed cwm recovery and I can get into recovery.
When I select install something from usb, there are no files showing on my SD card, but they are there.
What have I missed?
