Ethernet Adapters Not Detected - Note Pro 12.2 - Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone else been experiencing problems with ethernet adapters plugged in via micro to USB 2.0 and 3.0? My Note Pro has no issues detecting wired, wireless mice and keyboards. With the ethernet to USB adapters is a whole different story, there is no indication of the ethernet adapter routing data.
I have tried several ethernet adapters, the link state indicators on the ethernet adapters do light up, but once again Android does not give any indication of the connection being established. I have disabled WiFi, and even checked under 'Other Networks' menu on the system settings. Ethernet is listed as an option within the menu, but is disabled and grayed out, with or without the adapter and connection.
The cable has been tested and there are no issues, also I have tested the ethernet adapters with my laptop and my laptop has no issues establishing a connection via the adapter. I have had no luck finding for the solution, some people have reported this issue with other Android devices, but a clear solution is still undefined.
If anyone has a solution, feel free to post your findings.
After all those of us that are having this issue would appreciate a solution.

Here are some of the adapters that I used:
UNITEK USB 3.0
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EHDNAOE/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I/O Crest USB 2.0
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003M8I0RM/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I tested both of these adapters with USB 2.0 & 3.0 micro to USB adapters, both garnered the same result. It is odd that even the USB 2.0 adapter.
does not work either.

This bobj ethernet adapter which I had from Toshiba Thrive days works on tab pro 12.2. I must have used an OTG usb adapter to connect it. All are probably 2.0. Don't have a Note.

I have also been trying to do this - using a generic device from amazon that was advertised ad supporting my galaxy tabs. Greyed outat first, then suddenly worked - for two days. Since then, the ethernet option has been greyed out in settings, and friends have brought laptops which connect fine so i am sure it is not the cable. . Also had been using the charging port with adapter for months before this to use an external keyboard and mouse. Those no longer work either. Much harder to troubleshoot this tablet than any real computer!

How to make nexus s support USB OTG -- somebody already success

any body successed ?
Bad news, there is no way to enable OTG
Because NS uses usb switch chip FSA9280A, and this chip doesn't support OTG.

I made a mistake, there is a FSA9480 in the phone, so it support OTG in hardware.

I haven't had any luck getting this to work.
I tried hooking up a USB mouse, game pad (wired 360 controller) and a USB flash drive. However nothing happened when I plugged them in.
I connected them using a micro USB to USB adaptor and an externally powered USB hub.
Since the Galaxy Nexus appears to support OTG without issues, I'm guessing it's not working on the NS because of some sort hardware incompatibility.

first of all, are you sure your kernel configure support OTG ?
and then, the "micro USB to USB adaptor " is type-A(pin 4 connected with GND) ?
btw, the cup(S5PC110)'s datasheet shows it support OTG.
Ah, I did not realize there were different types of USB OTG adaptors. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.
I did a bit of digging around and it seems that it's not too difficult to modify the adaptor from type B to type A, provided you have basic soldering ability (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1092493). Perhaps I'll give that a go when I get some free time.
Has anyone else tried this feature on NS with any success?
This only applies to the Nexus S i9020.
i9023 seems to user another USB chip (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1431151) for which are OTG kernels available:

Which USB hub?

I was having issues with the stick recognizing a usb ethernet adapter. After rooting, it now recognizes ethernet but only if I connect the adapter directly to the usb port which leaves me no place to plug in a receiver for a remote or keyboard/mouse. I have a USB hub and while the hub works for the remote dongle, ethernet is not recognized if I plug the USB/ethernet adapter into the hub. I'm hoping that the problem is the hub, it is quite old, predates USB 2.0 by a long ways. So I need a recommendation for a hub - any particular one I should use? Powered hub? New power plug for the android stick itself?
Thanks
You must to have powered hub (nice 1A).
I suggest that you can also partly solve the problem using the same configuration that I have: use a Logitech k400 wifi keyboard with integrated trackpad. I attach the wifi unified adapter via an OTG cable using the OTG port.
Frees up the USB port nicely
Thus keyboard also works perfectly with my laptop, nexus 7 and ps3!. It's 40 gbp on the amazon store.

[Q] Will the Anker 2.4 ghz wireless keyboard work with an OTG cable?

I'm looking to purchase the Anker 2.4 ghz slim usb keyboard (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E3ZYIRO/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2IHZFOHOQ0WG8), but I wasn't 100% sure that it would work with my new nexus 7 2013+OTG cable. The reason I want to purchase the wireless version is because then I can use it with other computers that don't have bluetooth. Can anyone confirm that this does work with a usb OTG cable? I've seen many people say that wireless keyboards do work with an OTG cable, but when I tried using it with the current Logitech wireless keyboard I have it didn't work. Thanks.

Does the U11+ have ethernet drivers on board ; ie is there a lan adapter that works ?

Hi,
I have the U11+ but can not get my lan adapters to work.
I have an Anker AH212 with rtl8167 chipset in it. Only the hub section works.
https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B015875MQQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I also have purchased just for this the Flagpowerhdmi4k/lan/usb-c hub adapter.
https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B075QD1KBL/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
HDMi and hub works but lan doesn't.
I also have a very old 10/100 NExus 7 noname lan-dongle that also doesn't work on my U11+.
I also tried it with RNDIS/Ethernet setting in Developer options, but to no avail.
Has anybody been able to get any lan adapter working on this phone ?
rgrds
I tried to use Belkin USB-C Ethernet adapter dedicated for Macbook Pro which is working with Samsung S8, but without success.

USB ethernet adapters that work with the Pixel 3a

Hello,
does anybody know a working USB ethernet adapter for the Pixel 3a?
I have tried one with ASIX AX88772A (USB 2.0) and another one with AX88179 (USB 3.0) chipset and both are not recognized correctly.
The Pixel does recognize some USB device and the ethernet adapter is powered up, but it is not possible to switch to data transfer.
I am using this and it works.

I can absolutely rule out
Alfa awus 0036nh - ralink 3070
Alfa awus 0036h - realtek 8187
Micro USb - realtek 8188e
Micro USB - ralink 5370
small form + 3db antenna ralink 5370
Although I've had great luck with gos modules I can confirm the Ublox7 / Vk-172 works well with the 3a. My GlobalSat BU-353-S4 hasn't cooperated yet. Sorry to say that gps wardriving is much more difficult but just as rewarding, if you do find a good wifi unit that works with the pixel do let us know.

It works on my Pixel 3A as well. Of course, I'm using a USB 3 to USB-C adapter. The performance is quite poor. I'm getting about 75 MBPS on a 300 MBPS internet connection. I do much better on Wi-Fi. I tried the same on a Chromebook, and the NIC worked much better on USB 3, then via the USB-C adapter. I'm wondering if it's a problem with the USB 3 to USB-C adapter, or is the nature of the beast when doing that conversion?
Have you seen the same? Which conversion adapter are you using?
Thank you
I get 89 Mbps, which is the limit of my internet connection. I'm using this adapter:

So, using the combination of that network adapter and that USB adapter, I'm getting a max of 102 MPS on my Pixel 3a. Using the same combination on a Chromebook, I'm getting 297 MBPS. Using Wi-Fi, on the Pixel, I get close to what I'm getting wifi / wired on the Chromebook.
I wonder if there is some setting on the Pixel, or a hardware limitation.
Has anyone found a way to cast or screen mirror when using USB Ethernet ?
Obviously my tv, Chromecast and fire TV are all connected to the same Ethernet network.
But every screen mirror / cast app I've tried won't work unless WiFi is connected on the phone.
The PinePhone dock worked on my pixel 3a for ethernet tethering. Sept. 22 OTA rooted [Magisk] Tethering Enabler verizon grandfathered UDP. Plugged into a switch with wifi mesh and whole home wifi works. I need a longer LAN cable to put my phone in a spot with better signal. I have not tried HDMI but I can if someone needs that.
