Hi guys, recently my phone came back from having the screen replaced as it had been cracked in the past. Now the signal strength on the phone has never reached more than 3 bars. if i am lucky i get 1 bar but most of the time there is no signal on the phone. So i cannot receive or make any calls when i need to. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem may be??? :-/

Hello,
I updated my Xperia L to 2.17 yesterday,and today,about a few hours ago,my phone lost all signal.
How it happened was weird though-
I first noticed this when i tried to make a call and it wouldn't go through. At that time, the signal bars were full.
Then,i tried to send a text message.Same issue-not delivered, with the signal bars still full.
I thought it could be network issue and put the phone into airplane mode and out of,about 3-4 times.still the signal bars are full, but no call/message was going through.
Fed up,i rebooted the phone twice.Same status! .signal meter is showing full, but no calls/messages going through.
Then, after 5 minutes, the signal meter showed no signal-emergency calls only.
then, about half an hour, network came back up and i was able to use the phone as usual.
It couldnt be a provider issue as another phone with the same provider sim worked fine.I also had plenty of talk-time left so,its not an issue of that either.plus,i was in direct line of sight of multiple towers.
for some background-the sim is about 4 years old.plus,to get 3g working on my phone,i had to play with the settings a bit and it could only be activated after my service provider did some hocus-pocus.since then,i got fed up with their ridiculous prices and shifted back to 2g.
The same sim was in use in a hardy nokia1100 and then a Nokia 6020 till a month back, when i got the XL.and never have i faced such an issue before.
Is it a phone issue?I have attached a screenshot of the battery usage-it shows the network issue in red.

Initially,i neglected this in the battery page-this is not the first time the battery page shows network was dropped.it has happened multiple times before,only-this time,i saw it happen live when i was using the phone.so,its not a sudden issue and has been there for a bit of a while.
Another fault i noticed sometimes-when i receive a call-it drops off and i have to dial them back.
However,if i were to make the call,it works just fine.happens very rarely though.
so,do i change the sim or go to the service center?is it a radio/antenna issue?
Kindly advise,
Regards
Suraj
Sorry for bumping old thread. but i got same problem here.
also we are not along. https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-L/network-issue-with-xperia-L/td-p/405833
The signal of my Xperia L fall all time, what I do?
Im have the same problem, what I do? (this is the title)
My MB865 (Atrix 2) started losing signal and restarting. When it does re-acquire a signal, it is always a strong signal (5 bars ~ -65-dB). The problem has been getting worse and it is getting more difficult to acquire/retain a signal. Often the phone will spontaneously re-start as well. The re-starting seems to happen more frequently when I am charging the phone or do not have a signal.
My son has the exact same phone with the exact same configuration, and his is working perfectly. Side-by-side, he will have 5 bars while I'm not able to get a signal at all.
I have been told that this is likely an antenna issue, but I'm truly not sure.
Could a faulty antenna cause the re-starting issue described above? If it is a faulty antenna, is this something I could replace myself? I was unable to turn up anything useful in my search for a replacement antenna for this phone, so I'm not sure where to even get one.
Thanks in advance.
I am having nearly same issue with my atrix 2

The signal reception have decreased a lot.
I would like to know what you did to fix the issue

I bought a different phone.
Recently unlocked and flashed a rom improperly and messed up my phone (see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2599519 ) long story short I got my phone fixed at a repair shop, who also installed cm 10.1.3 on it for me.
After getting the phone back I had really shotty reception. In my house where I normally got 3 bars (with signal drops rarely) I was struggling to get 1, out front of my house where I normally had a full signal I had 2-3 bars that would constantly crash to 0 signal. I literally had to walk 3 blocks up a hill to get a strong enough signal to make a phone call without it getting dropped every 30 seconds. In places of strong signal I was and am still able to get a full signal without it dropping. Went back to the shop I had it fixed at (they removed the battery because he was having trouble with the power button, they also replaced my button as it only worked 1/2 the time) and the tech said it sounded like my antenna may have been damaged. They replaced it with a new (possibly used) one for free. Thought my problems were solved as when I got home I had a normal signal in my house. A normal signal for a few hours I should say. Its been 4 hours since I got the new antenna and My phone has gone back to its old habits of getting 1 bar for 20-30 seconds every minute or two. Anyone know of something internally that could be killing the antenna? Is it possible to tech spilled some solder or ****ed something up when he changed my power button that could cause this problem?
I dropped my Nexus 7 2012 3G and it cracked and stopped responding o touch. I sent it to Squaretrade for repair. After I got it back, I upgraded from Android 4.4.3 to 4.4.4 and I reinstalled my apps. Then I noticed that my mobile network stopped working. It had a weak signal and orange bars instead of white. I could not transfer any data. I reset to factory settings, which allowed the bars to go white and I could transfer data. But I am still getting a weak signal at my house. The signal strength also randomly increases and decreases without moving the tablet. WiFi is less affected, if at all.
Is it possible that in dropping the tablet, not only the screen cracked, but the wireless radio became damaged in such a way that it still works, but does not get as strong of a signal as before? Or do you think this was caused by the (minor) android update?
Thank you
more likely you have to check the antenna
Hi
My girlfriend also owns a oneplus one. She had the screen repaired, since then she doesn't have signal all the time. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. She tried to fix it with another sim but no effect. But last week we went abroad twice and when we were abroad she had signal all the time, and as soon as we got back in Belgium she lost signal again. Now since a day or 2 she has even less signal and she can't send messages or call even with signal.
Just adding that I also own a oneplus and I use the same provider and I have signal everywhere and I have no issues at all.
Anybody that has a solution or might know what the problem is?
Thanks in advance
Anthony
