Hi, i recently get my tf700 from asus , and decide to unlock it since the warranty is off. it is totally wiped, nothing is inside(even google account), i tried to unlock it, but it requires gmail in order to unlock it. There is also another option of unlocking it without mail, so i chose the one without mail.Soon it said mail is needed, so i signed in my google accout, and unlock it again. then there is no sign og a mail from asus fo validing.DM client is always force closing(seemed becoz of unlocking). It is in the latest 10.6.1.14.10. , ‎
What should i do?

You don't get an email back from Asus.
Reboot it - does it say unlocked in the top left?

I think you need to read the guide and follow it step by step.
https://www.androidroot.mobi/pages/guides/tegra3-guide-nvflash-jellybean/
After flashing the flatlinetf700.img file you then do your backups.
Everything is done from a command prompt - you can't just click on the exe files. You must follow the guide exactly.
Good luck!

I installed a 3g rom on wifi

Hi
I made a very stupid mistake
I used the tool to root my xoom wifi model
I used the tool in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011196
I tried to post this issue in the thread but I did not have the permissions.
by mistake I used the root of the 3G model
I followed the steps and everything was ok
I tried the unroot and here is the deadly (hopefully not) mistake
the xoom stops and first screen and refuses to boot
Did I brick my device??
Is there a way to resolve this problem??
Thanks
Yes, you have bricked it. Fastboot won't work at this point, so your only option is probably to return it.

Try doing this real quick, the best that can happen is that you can turn this around. You may NOT in fact be bricked. I made the mistake of doing this also, but I figured it is just like when I was using the Danger SPL on the G1 and I had to at least find a way.
So, do this real quick if you know how.
1. Power on and press Vol - at the same time
2. Open a command prompt to your ADB file and type in fastboot oem unlock
3. If this lets you in (it may not) go through the regular procedure of pressing Vol -+-+
4. It will format and you should know if it is in fact bricked or not because it won't boot up.
5. ******
6. Profit???
Let us know how it goes.

you should try flashing the boot.img used to root i believe its tiamat 1.1.6 and the system.img for wifi. i have the stock system.img if you need it. hopefully that would git ya to boot atleast. MAKE SURE THAT IT IS WIFI ONLY.
Go here and follow the second post I posted. This will help you do this without downloading the files because they are already there.

Yes, it has all been fixed. There still seems to be an issue with SU rights until you download BusyBox and no clue why.
I have been testing the WiFi one constantly and have not had any major hickups.

I think I'm more screwed than OP because I was already unlocked and rooted. Then locked my wifi xoom with the 3g one click tool. Yes I know that was very stupid but I was wondering what are my options?
Take it back to Amazon?

Wait for SBF?

It relocked? Yikes... I don't trust those 1-click things. I need to know what's going on step by step. My first Xoom got bricked when I thought I had untainted OEM image files and relocked it. There's really no reason to relock a Wifi Xoom right now.
Anyway, if it relocked, you might have been in the same boat I was where the computer wouldn't recognize the Xoom in Fastboot mode or RSD mode. And I went and got it exchanged at that point.
Oh, if RSD Lite can't see your Xoom in RSD mode, you might be out of luck. SBF won't help if RSD Lite can't see your Xoom. BUT, if it does see it, it sounds like you can flash the 3G/4G SBF from Motorola/Verizon and to get sorta running, then use Fastboot to overwrite the boot and system partitions.

I am running Windows 8

When you have your fastboot folder open press shift and then right click. One of the options in the menu should be "open command window here". That should do it unless Windows 8 has changed this.

TF300T UK Model Build 10.4.2.18
I apologise if help is on another thread which I could not find.
I cannot find on any other forum a hard and fast answer.
My TF300T is a UK model.
It has arrived with Build 10.4.2.18 already installed.
I want to root it and install a custom ROM. Like many others I want to remover some of the pre-installed apps such as Chrome.
I've rooted 4 HTC phones with no problem but I just cannot find a hard and fast post with instructions to rid this 10.4.2.18 of its factory installed ROM.
I have unlocked the device using the ASUS website.
I appreciate your feedback.

just dl this file
http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/tf300t/openrecovery-twrp-2.2.2.0-tf300t-JB.blob
TWRP Recovery for JB Bootloader. Its an older Versions which runs without any problems. The 2.3 or CWM are giving many problems to many User, so i recommend the 2.2
Take a look here
http://www.teamw.in/project/twrp2/97
on how to installe via adb or fastboot.
After that you can just go into TWRP recovery with turning on while Power and Vol- pressed at the same time
Than switch to RCK with Vol- and choose it with Vol+.
Once in Recovery you can install all JB Bootloader compatible Roms like you are used to

[Q] How can I make my phone run less sluggishly?

Hey
I have HTC desire s, which is pretty old (i'v had about three years now). In recent months it has started to run more and more sluggishly. After I re-downloaded a game that I played when I first got the phone I realized that my phone had experienced some power-loss, as the game that used to run smoothly now lagged. It wasn't so big deal as I do not play games with my phone so often, but now it feels like apps that I use and pretty much need like whatsapp and internet browser are also starting to lag more.
So now I am trying to find some way to restore my phone do the state it was when I first got it.
I have done almost everything that you can do with an un-rooted phone. (Ram,cache,apps...) I also did "factory reset" which actually seemed to help for a while, but soon the problem came back.
I tried also rooting my phone with super-one-click, but even I followed instructions "perfectly" and the app said my phone is rooted it actually wasn't.
I can try it again if it's necessary.
Thank you for Answers and I apologize for being a noob.

It toolkit fails (its important that you haven't change the folder name of the toolkit!)
We can do manually --> Go to HTC dev --> http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/ select "All other supported models" you also will have to register.

XDA Avengers I need help! (Stuck on logo)

Hi XDA.
This was a thread I started last night ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/help/one-chinese-import-flash-to-bacon-issue-t2923211) and where it ends is where I realised my device wasn't unlocked. "yeah I know"
So I downloaded and followed these steps shown on this great tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5O2e_R_TbVg
But now my phone appears to have no OS. It wont show up as a USB device to allow me to put a zip across to install.
I have learnt alot this evening and am enjoying the process and this is the last step....
If I haven't bricked my phone!
Any help much appreciated.
That's the video that gets you to use a toolkit, right? My first piece of advice: ditch the toolkit and never use one again. They're more trouble than they're worth and clearly cause problems. Plus doing things manually allows you to actually learn a great deal of crucial stuff that you really need to know. Anyway, please provide some more information on your device, is the bootloader unlocked now? Do you have TWRP recovery installed?
Transmitted via Bacon
Hi and thanks for replying. I followed the guide and unlocked and installed TWRP and can access it easily but when tring to re boot the device it just stays on the +1 logo.
I have subsequently tried unlocking again if that was the problem.
Boot the phone into TWRP, go into the wipe menu and perform a factory reset, then reboot the phone.
Transmitted via Bacon
Ok just tried a factory reset and it failed stating among many things.
E:Unable to mount '/data
E:Unable to mount storage
Also the first line was E:could not mount / data and unable to find cry pto folder.
It might be time to start fresh, you're gonna have to try flashing the fastboot images I think.
Transmitted via Bacon
Ok thanks again for your support.
With this in mind can you please give me a nod in the right direction on how to do this please. I appreciate im a little out of my depth here. Swimmimg in deep android.

Follow step 8.
Yep, that's the one. Keep in mind though that I haven't yet updated that to suit the latest version (38R), so you can download the latest version from here:
http://dist01.slc.cyngn.com/factory/bacon/cm-11.0-XNPH38R-bacon-signed-fastboot.zip
And then modify the last command to suit.

Ok I'm going in! Will follow those 8 steps however the phone doesn't show as a USB device any more so will this work?
Really sorry guys but step two is a no-go as the device wont boot to enable me to get into dev options.

All you need to worry about is section 8. They're not steps that need to be followed in sequence, they're separate sections.

Ok that's a relief. I have completed step one and it says its unlocked.
Ok so im downloading the OS you suggested but cannot get the phone to come up as a USB device to put the new OS onto the internal memory.

Make sure the zip file is in the fastboot folder aswell and make sure the name of the file you use in the command is identical to the name of the zip file.

ADB / Fastboot / Driver problem

Hey guys,
I am pretty new to the rooting stuff on the Nexus.
I read the sticky threat from rootSU (http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...urce-guides-info-threads-linked-read-t2784527) and followed his description. So I installed ADB and fastboot through the "15 sec. installer" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979).
So fast so good, everything went fine. But as I tried to "check" if ADB and fastboot are recognizing my device with the command "adb devices" and "fastboot devices" in cmd, I got some strange output (look at the picture).
How can it be that ADB "sees" my device and fastboot not? What I did wrong there?
(I didn't installed the drivers with the 15 sec tool; when I plugged in my device to the computer, it downloaded the drivers itself)
Any help would be very appreciated!
Follow the next step on my thread and install the naked drivers
Okay thank you!
I'll try it tonight and report back.
I also thought of a problem with the drivers, but I thought that I messed up with installing ADB and fastboot somehow, because ADB could recognize my device.
One question again: When I uninstall the Nexus 5 drivers and I reconnect my phone to the pc, it download the driver itself.. How can I stop that to install the naked drivers?

Remember - adb ONLY works when Android is booted up or you're in recovery, fastboot ONLY works when you're in the bootloader

Damn, thats it! I am so dumb! I don't know how I could forget that.. I read it some hours ago.
After I went into bootloader mode, fastboot recognized my device!
Thanks a lot guys, now I can go to the next step to root my device! =)
Btw.. another question, which is offtopic - does it makes a difference to root KitKat or Lollipop? I guess the guides around here are all made for KitKat and I don't want to mess up. :/ Thx!

@rootSU has posted some new guides on rooting Lollipop, so best read his threads in the General section
To root Lollipop you have to use Chainfire Auto Root. There is extra security in Lollipop that keeps the old root method from KitKat from working.
Oh I see..thats annoying. But thank you for your answers! I guess I'll read those threads. =)
Btw.. Can you guys tell me if I understood everything..:
To go back to the official 4.4.4., I don't have to root my device, right? I "only" have to unlock my bootloader and flash the official factory image through fastboot. And afterwards I could root my device using the guides around here on xda.

Oh, actually thats all I wanted! =)
On my old Samsung Galaxy Ace you had to root your device first, before you even could install another stock rom, thats why I thought it would be the same for the Nexus 5.
Thanks alot, I'll save my data on my PC now and start with the "downgrading"!

Yeah I think I got it now. I unlocked my bootloader and flashed the official 4.4.4. factory image from the google developers website. Afterwards I booted into the stock recovery and wiped data/factory reset and reboot. Everything is fine now!
Thank you for your help! Learned a lot of basic understandings.

There are multiple methods. Cf auto root is just one of them.
I documented all methods in general. There's a link to my thread from "sticky roll-up in general
