I wanted this but... is it working properly
Can any dev correct it
...

i tried, in the t7s, the power button is supposed to be back direction in cwm so in our corex4 it keeps going back to the main menu any option we select.Power button is not meant for selecting. Maybe if we could get phills touch recovery it should solve the issue.I didnt find tho.

guys, good news, fully working cwm conformed for corex4
hey i found the proper working cwm for corex4. The hyundai t7s does have the same innards as our tab but in its cwm the power button isnt used to select anything except a back function. yesterday night i found a thread in slatedroid abt cwm for a tab called hyundai t10, It happens to have the same innards as t7s and our corex4. Well the good news is the cwm for t10, it uses the power button to make selections like our tab rather the t7s. I downloaded the cwm and tried in my tab, it worked flawlessly and was successfully even able to do a backup through cwm.
i have attached the cwm of t10 for our corex4 bellow, and the link of the thread where i found it, all credits to them

I brick my asus tf300t please help me

Hello guys, before with the rom hidro ponic 4.4 all was well. After i want change my rom and i've brick my asus after flash rom unofficial cm10..because the camera apk not found, and dispay is total green..I suppose the problem is the rom but after another flash rom the problem is same.On again the display is lock on the logo Asus and upstar on the little: the device unlock..stop.My asus there's no way to get it to recognize at pc and the driver installed not found..are't fastboot logo in Controll Pannel.I've not possilìbility to choce android--usb--wipe data.Help me please thank you sorry for my English
What about booting into recovery? Or fastboot?
As far as I understand your post Android isn't booting, but what if you hold volume-down when you turn on the tab?
I have almost the same problem. I flashed a bad boot blob (vanilla linux, not android) and now I'm stuck at the first Asus logo if I boot normally. But I still have fastboot and CWM recovery so I'm confident I can get it back into shape (even though a restore in CWM didn't help)
I think there's no way to unbrick the device, because I have the same problem.
I flash my device to official 4.1 and I found I lost root of my device
So I try to downgrade my device, but I failed...
Then I try to enter recovery and I failed again...
At last I try to wipe data of my device but it had no respond...
Of course,I had to reboot my device...
The result is:It bricked...
The symptom is just like the thread starter
What should I do???
I tried to contact the customer service of ASUS,but they said the device which unlocked by yourself couldn't get any warranty, even I willing to pay for it
(I think the customer service of ASUS is too bad, especially their attitude)
(I'm also sorry for my poor English...)
this is simple
download the asus jelly bean launcher.zip
from their website
unzip the launcher so its just the eepad 10.blahblah.zip
if it says update launcher you still need to extract this
then flash the twrp jelly bean recovery
now add the official jb rom to an external sd card
and flash
reboot
and voila
reboot again to fastboot and reflash recovery afterwards
and then flash root
worked for me

e...Thanks anyway
But my problem(the same as the thread starter) is:I couldn't enter either fastboot nor recovery
If I could enter one of it,I think I can fix it...

Thanks guys Today i can try the guide..we ope in God:angel:
I try twrp jb recovery but not function because the teerminal it's impossible go in download mode (down+power)....The Jig Usb forf Asus exist?
Hello guys, but for this type of brick no one has an answer? Method with nvflash can 'operate according to you ..? But I'm trying to appear APX and install the drivers as a guide is a company because it makes them install it
As far as I can see nvflash is coming to TF300T, it has been developed for T201 (http://androidroot.mobi/t3_nvflash/). But at least for TF201 they have to have fastboot first, so that may not help you.
If I understand you correctly nothing is booting and you have neither ADB nor fastboot access. In that case I don't think there's anything to do except wait and hope for a working nvflash or to try to have Asus fix it, but since the tab is unlocked they probably won't do so for free.
It seems this tab bricks easily.
I have the same problem, and I hope nvflash too. But I don't know nvflash in dev or no. This my best device which die first. Cry
Having the same problem here also. Only had the tf300t for less than a week.
Here is a sticky to a thread I made. I'm just waiting for people to put in a bunch of ideas. Hopefully NVFLASH doesn't need fastboot.

Hi !
...to force entry in recovery ...you need first to reset your device than go to recovery ;
- press for 10 sec. power button , release and quickly press volume down and power button at the same time ! -> normal the device should be entered in recovery ! Good luck ! :good:

...Tried it about 1000 times, not possible, but thanks anyway. No fastboot possible, NVFLASH won't be working either...
I asked our friends at androidroot.mobi if it would be possible to have this issue solved with NVFLASH, this is their response:
@AndroidRootMobi Is it worth waiting for NVFLASH on (very hard) softbricked TF300t? Or should I go to @Asus
‏@AndroidRootMobi
@Joanuz @ASUS Sorry. If/when we support TF300T, you will need device-specific files. So no brick recovery if you're already bricked.
It sucks, I know. I'll be sending mine back to ASUS tomorrow. No warranty. Hopefully a reflash will do the job (normally it should be around 75 euro), if the mainboard needs to be replaced, the total costs will be around 200... I will open a thread here once it's under repair. Good luck!
Same problem. Stucked at Asus Logo but i can go into recovery. What can I do? Help me please
My PC finds it as Fastboot.
Seem I'm no alone...
Seem I'm not the only one.
This morning I bricked my tablet, 5 minutes after I bought a wall charger on EBay... :crying:
As for now the only answers seem to be from people that don't read post good.
We can't get to use the recovery...
Again, if someone knows how reset the tablet prior booting...
I beleive that its the only other way.
The last possibility, buy a new one...
I believe the problem started before.
- I unlocked my tablet more that a month ago, at the Jelly Bean release.
- Rooted
- Installed the official release
- Everything went well, up to this morning
- I noticed that my Rom Manager Premium start to show adds
- Goo manager refused to install recovery script
- Then I tried to go in recovery, it fails.
- I said to myself that it was better to start from scratch
- I tried a Factory reset using setting menu.
- After this step the tablet started to show This device is unlocked
-After the last step the device wouldn't boot no other way...
I don't know what happened but it seem a bit strange that everything worked fine before this morning.
For sure I'll keep exploring ways to get out of this mess.
But if I have to buy another tablet, there's a chance that I'll go to a Nexus 7...
Good luck to all the other unfortunate that that are in the same boat.
Alain
Hi back,
After I bricked my device i sended back my tablet to canadian customer service.
At first the didn't wanna fix the proble and the service told me that he needed to change the motherboard.
I argue a while and after an email discussion whit the customer service agent, they told me that they would fix the problem for me THIS TIME.
This morning I received my tablet and everything seem to work fine, as it was reset to factory.
BUT, after I started to investigate, seem that in no time the cover removed.
And maybe the motherboard change is a trick to suck more money from the users.
In fact I can't understand why you'de have to change the motherboard after the tablet is bricked.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I find this way of doing thing awefull, and I consider lucker that I got outa this mess...
Good luck to the others unfortunates
Alain
No need waiting for NVFlash, it is here (check developer section) but will not work on unit if already messed up.
I have used two things that aren't mentioned here; I don't recommend either but if you are ready to ship off it might work for you as it did for me.
Both times were caused from ota updates.
1. use of reset button while powered on, if that fails to help, poweroff and reset button again.
2. let battery run down, put ac charger on power strip which is turned off but plugged into ac. Hold foot over power strip button, hold power and down volume on unit; mash power button on power strip with foot while holding power and down volume on unit.
I should have said neither of these fixed my unit; they just allowed me to get into fastboot to fix my unit.
Bricked TF300GT (please help)
Hello developers,
I have a bricked Transformer the goes in a loop flashing ASUS every 5 seconds or so. That was after having unlocked and then reset to factory default.
I have been reading a lot of articles at various forum for a solution. I have never seen something so confusing. Please is someone can point to me a page where the un-bricking is described step by step for that aparticular model?
Many thanks in advance
Yves
NB: I have tried the -volume and power button trick or the +volume power button that just make a USB connection on my PC

i got my tf300t bricked to.
got my tablet this weekend wanted to install cyanogenmod.
just did a week early'er a other one (the one for my mother)
that went well
my tablet installed de orginal 4.2.1 from asus.
Today wanted to install cyanogenmod.
run first de unlocker v8
the installed fastboot twrp421.blob
when i went to the twrp menu the cyanogenmod wont install, but the orginal wont start also not, it want nothing to start.
tryed with external sd.
ok i thought i want cmw so i run the recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.4-tf300t.img
went wel also.
i can only go to cwm but they are no file rights and still can install a zip or mount a sd internal or external.
now fastboot is not working
when i turn the tablet on it is going to cwm
wat i can do?
edit:
cmw version = v6.0.2.3
Me too! asus ask 230$ for replace new mainboard. I think they want eat money, because they already have nvfash to fix. 230$ can buy new item from amazon. I hate asus and never buy any thing of asus. Very bad support.

nooby: can not update from zip file GT-P5110 4.0.4

I'm new with android.
I like to try it and put my Apple days behind me.
Never had a problem with 'rooting' it. But it’s time for something new.
I bought a Samsung TaB2 10.1 GT-P5110
After reading ( a lot ) on forums and google-ing youtube walkthroughs, I wanted to start the rooting process.
First problem ... the tablet is new but already updated to 4.0.4.
I don’t think I can undo that :-/
So I used Odin3-v1.85_3.zip and the file "GT-P5110_ClockworkMod-Recovery_5.5.0.4.tar"
All went fine but then i had to root it.
Getting into "download mode" wasn’t easy.
I think my mistake was that I have to do this immediately after I used ODIN and rebooted the tablet.
But l’ll try that later.
The real problem is that I don’t have the choice in the menu "install zip from" sdcard
im reading the toppic "[How To] ROOT- Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 [GT-P5113 / 5100 / 5110 & 4.0.4 UPGRADE or OEM".
The menu i get :
Android system recovery <3e>
Volume uo/down to move highlight:
power button to select
reboot system now
apply update from external storage
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
apply update from cache
This is NOT the CWM menu
I can see the external drive and can click on the file CWM-root-gtab2a.zip if i use "apply update from external storage" but it gives an error.
There is a link with "workaround at post 325. " but i dont know what to do.
The "workaround" is not for newbies i gues ?
ok.i read someware that the "Android system recovery <3e>" is not the CWM menu

Now i can update the "CWM-root-gtab2a.zip" file.
Next step would be => go to CWM => backup BEFORE you chance anything.
I can only go in the CWM menu if i do ALL the steps again.
Gonna try this this evening.
Thanx in advance
rooting help
Okay, Im not an expert, but I've rooted several android devices before. Some steps that i go through to make sure that everything will go smoothly are:
0. Check the forums first with a search to see if the topic hasn't been answered before. READ EVERYTHING CAREFULLY. Most mistakes are usually user error. If you don't understand what you are doing, maybe you shouldn't doing it. Or you need to read up on it more.
1. Make sure that i have the absolutely appropriate packages to do what i intend to.
2. Make sure my Samsung drivers are up to date. You can install them with Kies or install them separately link in a development topic about rooting and so.
3. Download mode is accessed by powering off the tablet and holding volume down and the power button. Connect your tablet after you've set up the basics (pda file is correct for rooting, recovery, etc)
4. Go over everything and look for the right signs fora completed operation (PASS!, GOOD!, etc.)
5. Recovery mode is accessed by powering off the tablet and holding volume up and the power button. If you don't see the gear and top hat, chances are that you don't have the clockworkmod recovery successfully flashed. Try it again and if it still doesn't work, be as clear as you can with your next post why it doesn't.
I've the same model p5110 with 4.0.3 ICS build WALD2 and I've rooted and flash several times from stock to Rom to stock again. It's never easy the first time, but you'll get the hang of it soon.:good:
I am working on this just like you. I have rooted my phone but trying to root my p5113. The menu you are getting is the android stock recovery menu. When you reboot after rooting you cannot allow to boot up all the way or it will overwrite the cwm recover. So while you are rooting and it reboots, quickly unplug it and hold the power and left/volumn down key. That should do the trick
Yep,
Got it working.
Can manualy instal progs.
But im not sure im going keep this tablet yet.
Its a verry good tablet but,... maybe its because im an iphone user, and im used to cydia..
Keeping it for at least 1 month more before i decide.
Strange ,... there is no tomtom or garmin gps program ?
Are you guys using CyanogenMod ?
Dont see the point yet for using it.
Its fun using android do (boys and there toys ;-o )
a while later...

Pipo U2 root Instructions - rk3066 (should work for other devices just as easily)

Tools needed to Root the new Pipo Ultra U2.
http://www.mediafire.com/?0g1tc07kx0tu482
Rar includes;
rkAndroidTool (English)
u2_root.zip
rk drivers
instructions...
This is the easiest way and will give you Super User and CWM recovery.
If you wish to use the Chinese application for rooting; http://www.mediafire.com/?mddj3wn8z2rcb1u
***Use at your own risk - I take no responsibility for bricked / broken devices using this thread / tools***
on a softer note, I am not sure what can go wrong given this method and the standard rockchip way of flashing the rom to restore
I do not take credit for creating CWM; credit to Christian Troy at dragondevs.com for creating a CWM for RK3066 tablets
Update zip is an edit of a script that has been floating around for sometime...
English Stock Firmware available from here;
http://www.mediafire.com/?145py7tcdmuu5aq
http://www.mediafire.com/?1m7nzmzda9vukah
Use at your own risk as usual though (with no guarantee) I do not think these methods will void warranty but its not my problem... (flashing stock firmware using batch tool will remove root & CWM)
Instructions
1. Hard power off your Pipo U2 (Hold power button until it powers off)
2. While holding Volume- (down) button
3. plug use into phone then your PC (update mode)
4. Install missing drivers from driver folder if you have not already
5. Run RKAndroidTool.exe
5. Unselect option 2 (Parameter)
6. Select Flash Rom
Your Pipo U2 should now have booted to Clock Work Mod.
Take a nand backup if you wish.
You can access CWM via the usual Android way...
(Power off Pipo U2, while powering on hold volumne- (volume down) & (holding power button).
Now its time to to get root access...
7. Copy u2_root.zip to the root directory of you SDcard.
8. Hard power off
9. Boot to CWM (Holding volume down as you hold power button until you see Pipo boot)
10. Select Install zip from SDcard
11. Scroll and install u2_root.zip
Will install and say that you are rooted.
12. Reboot device (you will now have Super User installed and working)
If you install Titanium and it doesn't give it root access just reboot again and fresh install TB and you'll be sweet!
Remove any bloatware / unwanted Chinese applications using titanium backup. (or install English firmware prior to root)
ENJOY!!! and please don't forget to hit the thanks button
Please post you responses and your device
This will ensure other user have the tools needed to successfully root their tablets...
I am quite sure this should root most rk3066 devices including the Pipo U1 , U2 , M3 etc and will be intrigued to hear other results as I am quite sure it should do all rk3066 tablets
I got CWM installed on the u2. When I install the root.zip in CWM, it says it is installed. However, I do not appear to have root access. I have restarted several times, reinstalled "root.zip" etc. The root checker app confirms that I do not have root. I also don't see Superuser installed in the apps list, etc. Any suggestions?
When I install root.zip:
Installing: /sdcard/root.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
Applying root...
Deleting old binaries and packages...
Unpacking new files...
Setting permissions...
You have been root...
Install from sdcard complete.
new root.zip
Hi mate, appears I may have accidently deleted the wrong root.zip prior to creating these files...
This new one will do the trick

Yup, it worked on the first try. Root Checker confirmed, and Titanium Backup works. Future users just need to use CWM from first post, and root that's in second post. (post order may change if Raz fixes the first upload of course)
To other users based on my observations of just 1 tablet:
CWM install:
- If using Win7 64-bit, the rk drivers to install CWM are finicky. If the Win7 driver doesn't work, try the Vista driver (worked for me after a few tries). If that doesn't work, unplug and reboot tablet and try again. If you can't get included drivers to work in Win7, the drivers work flawlessly in WinXP.
I did poke around google/this forum/other forums looking for better drivers, but all RK drivers seem to behave this way in Win7 64-bit.
I *think* the included drivers with Superoneclick *may* work (the ones that Superoneclick forces Windows to use). Install Android SDK, then run Superoneclick and hit "yes/proceed" for the it's driver installation.
Using CWM to install root:
- The volume +/- buttons scroll up/down, and the power button is the enter key. However, for mine the power button is finicky. If it's not "entering" (and instead making the CWM logo bigger), try hitting the "esc" key and/or scrolling up/down.
Other programs I tried:
- While waiting on Raz's response, I went ahead and tried using other RK3066 root programs and none of them worked. I tried "Superoneclick", "Busybox", and even tried the questionable "ZhuoDaShi 2.2.9". None of them worked. Stick with Raz's stuff in this thread. However, YMMV.
Thanks Raz!

No worries. I have also sourced English stock rom in other thread if you search. Zhoudashi works with English but so does the new script
I am on win764bit, I think the drivers were the reason I couldn't get zhoudashi to work and had to find another way. Enjoy! Make it easier for those scared of Chinese app or can't read root thought its quite clear in English . Haha
BTW, some devs working on updated kernel
BTW, I updated root package file earlier to include new script.

E:can't mount /cache/recovery/command
etc.

@myvisione:
I can't post links since I'm new here. Just google "Pipo U1 CWM" and there's a version at slatedroid posted that should work.
If that doesn't work, in your CWM that's giving errors, try going into the "Mounts and Storage" in CWM and mounting that share.
@Raz:
Thanks for the tip on the stock rom, very reassuring that's available if we need it.

Have you got a external SDcard present? I am 99.9% sure this CWM will work on U1. Is CWM working? It appears to be a SDcard issue...
Reinstall stock firmware using rkbatch tool and give it another shot. I don't believe you have bricked device...
I will send you a parameter file for the U1, so leave parameter option ticked when flash CWM. I am away from home until tomorrow, will send then. If you solve issue before then, let me know.

Power off holding power button. Hold volume down and plug into USB while still holding volume down for approx 15seconds and restore.
I got it work but took me some time and help of anonther user (thanks to him).
I did the instructions as posted in the first posting and don't know what went wrong. After installing CWM and rebooting the U1pro wasn't able to boot properly. With or without SD-Card it came only to boot in CWM. Restoring or backuping wasn't possible.
Solution:
I reflashed the *.img with RKBatchtool. But at first the tablet didn't show up in RKbatchtool. The U1 (or in my case the U1pro) has to be started with Esc + Volume+ button pressed. This was the trick.

How to solve the CWM issues? When I'm following the steps it comes to a bootloop in CWM and I have to reflash the original firmware and clockworkmod is gone.

I thought you had solved it...
When you connect to flash cwm your device has to be in update mode (same as rk firmware flash), as you said previously volume+ for U1.
Use Google, there are posts on CWM for U1 though there is no difference in this version to U1... they re both rk3066.....

Thank you for your fast reply. When i start rkandroidtool which boxes do I have to tick?
Last time it went through but when it comes to CWM (which seems to be fine) there is no firmware installed on the device and so a reboot forces in CWM again and again. Maybe I triy with a different micro-SD inserted.

I will send you a parameter file for the U1, so leave parameter option ticked when flash CWM. I am away from home until tomorrow, will send then. If you solve issue before then, let me know.

If you could do so, would be awesome. I need the parameters for U1Pro. Thank you so much.

Here you go; http://www.mediafire.com/?kb0g7wzoyew4ymf
Extract to the rom folder of the rkAndroidtool and leave parameter checked when flash CWM.
Leave the default 3 ticked when using the parameter file; options 2,3,6
When you plug in the Pipo, rkAndroidTool should say at the bottom "Found RKAndroid Loader Rock USB".

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Proclaim s720c Clockworkmod help please!

I have searched and searched and have yet to find a zip or other method of installing clockworkmod on my rooted (straight talk) Samsung Galaxy Proclaim s720c. I have Rom Manager install and when I go to install clockworkmod my device isnt in the list, I have checked the clockworkmod site as well for solutions with no luck. I really would like to get an image backup with the utility in the clockworkmod recovery A.S.A.P. also looking for custom ROMs. Please help im not the only one out there with this issue.
Thanks ahead of time,
Moniker
Hi there mate!
Welcome to XDA and to the Forum first of all.
Go to Google Play and look for X-parts app and after install CWM through it. Pay attention that this CWM although genuine is not gonna "stick" to the core ROM so any other change of ROM you'll have to do this again.
This will solve your prob for now...please let me know how it worked for you.
Oh and don't forget to click on THANKS.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Proclaim s720c not a SEMC Xperia so DON'T USE THIS IF YOU DON'T HAVE A SEMC Xperia< phone THIS IS NOT FOR THE s720c Samsung Galaxy Proclaim!
I am unable to post links so the best I can do is a copy paste and give credits to the OP from elsewhere...
[RECOVERY] ClockworkMod Viper v6.0.2.8
Credits to the OP Motorhead - I did have to make a few edits to get it to work properly for me.so I will post original first, then
my edited version
You will need to google search this file arearom-cwm-6028.tar
To Install:
1. Download the file and place it in an esay-to-find location on your computer
2. Open Odin3 v1.85 (the one you used for root) and select the arearom-cwm-6028.tar
3. Boot your Proclaim or Illusion into Download Mode and plug it into your computer.
4. Click start in odin and let it run. Once Odin reboots your device, *REMOVE THE BATTERY.
5. Hold the middle of the volume rocker, put the battery back in and turn the device on.
6. Enjoy the only public CWM for the Proclaim/Illusion .
Thanks:
foremost, utkanos for helping me out with debugging
Darkman, urworstknight, heydave and everyone else for their help in testing (though the other was an earlier version)
The VIPs for keeping the secret
And finally DroidHost, for hosting, testing and everything else

My Edit!:..
1. Download the file and place it in an esay-to-find location on your computer
2. Open Odin3 and select the PDA button and then point Odin to the arearom-cwm-6028.tar
3. Boot your Proclaim or Illusion into Download Mode and plug it into your computer.
4. Click start in odin and let it run. Once Odin reboots your device ( Your Device Shuts off ), *REMOVE THE BATTERY.
a. IF you do not get the battery out in time and the phone reboots you will lose the flashed CWMr and be returned to the stock recovery
IF this happens just have some patience and repeat the steps until you get it. ( it took me several attempts to get past this )
5. Hold the middle of the volume rocker, put the battery back in and push the power button until the samsung logo appears - Then elease the power button only.
6. Youyr device should now be booted into CWM Recovery

I need help rooting my New Tab 7.7 i815 guys!

I have searched all over the web and this forum and after literally days of searching all I have found seem to be from late 2011. And none of the several methods will to root my Galaxy Tab 7.7 i815 Verizon LTE tablet. My question is, is there a current way to root my tablet? I really want to root and custom rom my tablet, but I am ready to pull my hair out. I have rooted my Galaxy S4 and flashed a custom rom and it was so easy, and is just so much better. I woulsd love to flash a Jelly Bean rom on this tablet, thats my goal. Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thanks

You don't need to root to install a custom ROM. You need to flash a recovery, and then use that to flash the ROM. I'm not sure if Verizon added more difficulties to install a recovery, though; my P6800 was as easy as it gets to go from Honeycomb to anything else.

Good luck!

I'd rather let someone who actually owns an i815 give you exact instructions, but the general idea for Samsung devices is:
- Get Odin on your PC, for example, from here
- Reboot your device to download mode (power off, then power it on while holding volume down or volume down + home)
- open Odin
- Put the recovery .tar (or .tar.md5) file on "PDA", DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING ELSE, and click "start". The file will flash, and then the device will reboot
- To enter the recovery, power on while holding power+vol. up
- Make a backup
- Factory reset
- Install the ROM .zip
I can't tell you if this works on the Verizon version, though; or if there is anything else involved. I have an international P6800, where this works fine. Maybe someone who has the same version can help?

okay, well,
First of all, I couldn't find the backup option so I just wiped the device.
Secondly, I have one of the CWM 10.1 zips on my sdcard. I keep on getting the error "failed to verify the whole file structure."
edit: okay, this is the real problem. I can't get the CWM or the TWRP recovery on the samsung tab 7.7 via Odin. That is the real problem.
Okay, I figured it out. Basically, the hiccups come from two things: have to make sure USB debugging is selected in the developer options in the settings.
Secondly, it appears that CWM needs to not have the USB plugged in when you want to activate its recovery mode.
Now, all I need to do is figure out how to install the play store.
And...I"m afraid that from now on, system updates means that the entire device gets wiped?
CM10.1 JB is sooo much better than the lousy Samsung touchwiz or whatever junk that they came up with.
It's all up and running with GAPPS too. Weirdly, for GAPPS, it's not a good idea to download your GAPPS while on a mac. Download on PC. The mac seems to automatically decompress zip files, and then if you recompress them, it does so in a way that CWM does not recognize.
Otherwise, it's okay. Some hiccups and oddities. I am running a build made in July 2013, by a guy in Hong Kong, I believe. Cyanogen updates don't come up with anything, not even old versions. Also, the lock screen is always in landscape mode for some reason, never portrait.
But this is how to do it...
Basically, the way it goes is this. You have to replace the recovery bootloader with a custom bootloader in order to load the custom build. You do this by Odin.
First step is getting the tablet ready. It has to be in USB debugging mode. You then have to power it off. Power it on again while holding on to the volume down button. get through the screen and wait. Then you connect it to the computer and run Odin. On the "PDA" tab, you select the CWM .tar file and hit "start."
Second step is to download a build of CWM and put it on a micro-sd card. Has to be in .zip format. Also, download the CWM GAPPS .zip file and put it on the microsd.
Third step is to unplug the device from USB, and go into recovery mode. You do this by turning it off. Then turn it on again while holding volume up.
You should see the CWM screen. Make sure to clear/reset the device and wipe out all caches. Then install from external sd card. I think you can also install the GAPPS after installing the OS.
Then reboot and you're good.
edit: landscape lock screen is just a checkbox in the setting.
New problem: really slow transfers to sd card through USB. Really really slow. Like 3-4x as slow as just connecting sd card to sd card reader.

FANTASTIC! THANK YOU SO MUCH! One last question. You said "Second step is to download a build of CWM and put it on a micro-sd card. Has to be in .zip format. Also, download the CWM GAPPS .zip file and put it on the microsd" So which ones did you use? I just don't want to screw anything up. Thanks again.
HELP!!

OK I followed your steps flawlessly, and my screen will not go past the paranoidandroid 3+ boot screen. Please help me I'm freaking out
Try framaroot. Install the app, usb debug on and root.
Now you can install recovery with a lot of apps.
