Swiftkey

Is anyone out there using Swiftkey tablet. I use it because of the Dvorak keyboard layout, mainly because the Note doesnt seeem to support keyboard layouts other than Qwerty.
When I type in Swiftkey it seems to be registering multiple keystrokes. This doesnt happen in the stock samsung keyboard or SlideIt
No problems here. Try uninstalling and then re installing

Did you try Polaris Office and S Note.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but to no avail. Still does it in these two apps.
I'm using SwiftKey without any issues. I've used both Polaris and S Note. Did you try a restart? Could be some sort of magnetic issue that might be resolved that way. Big bummer. Sorry.
I have swiftkey on all my devices except the Note10.1.
Does Swiftkey support big, small hovering and split keyboard like original keyboard ?

It supports big and split, but no hovering.
does using a keyboard other than the stock one still allow you to use the S-pen instead of the keyboard whenever you want to? I know that the stock keyboard has the setting button that you press to select text recognition for using the pen within the browser.
Think it's a common issue but I can't get SwiftKey T to learn from my Gmail.
Anyone else having this problem?? Or have a suggestion.??

I'm using SwiftKey 3, but I've been experiencing a lot of freezing+force closing when using it with Chrome.
Hovering would be nice. It offers all else that I need.
Hi all,
I work for SwiftKey. Please be sure to post bug reports (one at a time) on our public forum at support.swiftkey.net. We also welcome suggestions there. Regarding Droidcarp's note that there appears to be some difficulty with personalization, our Dev Team has been made aware of this report and they are looking into it for you.
Again, our public forum is the best place for suggestions and bug reports. This allows us to streamline the development process so we can continue to make SwiftKey as excellent as possible for you.
Thanks very much,
-Reppate
As long as you dropped in, HWR would be good, too. Sammy offers a hover keyboard and HWR, also. Started using their split keyboard - very nice - and offers HWR.

Thanks for the tip budalica.
Any idea how to get the handwriting key to be included?
It is a shame the standard samsung keyboard doesnt support dvorak
Definitely needs handwriting support and the arrow keys like the phone keyboard.
For now it's fine to leave the stock keyboard set on handwriting and use the keyboard switcher in the notifications to switch but it would be useful for it to be integrated.
Also maybe a way to adjust the width, in split mode it seems too wide and I have big hands!
I switched to swift key also from swype today and noticed an echo like effect in snote, working fine in the xda app but broken in the snote app.

A few people are reporting this issue on the swiftkey forums.
I sent SwiftKey a refund request but a week later I have had no response

[Q] Liquidsmooth Keyboard

So the current ROM(liquidics for droid2) doesn't support the physical keyboard very well. The lights stay on when its closed and pulling it out doesn't change the orientation. Is there a way I could pull keyboard modules or whatever handles the keyboard from another ROM that works (AOKP or CM9) and patch them over it?

Have you tried installing a third party app yet? E.g. TouchPal X ?

Not third-party, but I did install Google Keyboard. I don't see how that would effect the physical keyboard much as I ran a ROM before where the android keyboard service kept crashing, but the slide-out still worked.

Hardware buttons and softkeys are controlled by keyboard app too as far as i know.
I think you're right about the virtual keyboard handling the physical one, but I think Android itself controls the back lights and orientation. I've tried some third party apps and they don't fix it.

Is it possibel to change the size of the virtual keys?

Hello, I tried the PRO 12.2 in a store. Under the landscape mode, the virtual keyboard takes half the screen. I tried the split keyboard under both landscape and portrait modes and found the keys to small. Is it possible to change the size of the keys?
Also, under portrait mode, sometimes the delete or erase key does not work. What is the problem?
Thanks.
You can download another keyboard on the play store, but I think you can't change that on the Sammy keyboard.

Thanks. Know any good keyboards that allow the user to change the size of the keys?

SwiftKey
The keys are as large as they are for a reason. Touch typing in landscape mode takes some practice but works really well on the stock keyboard and the inclusion of the symbols on the keyboard is fantastic. I highly recommend giving it some time before switching.

Yes you can change it. I dont know how much you will like the results though. try downloading exposed and using the app settings module you can download from there. You can slightly lower the dpi for the keyboard until it hits your sweet spot. It will change the ENTIRE keyboard size though.you can probably go down 20-40 dpi without much negative impact though. Try hackers keyboard and smart keyboard pro as well. Both of those are highly customizable. Smart keyboard lets you do alot with the size.

By the way, just to let you know, I tried the Swiftkey keyboard and it started freezing up my note. I had to uninstalled. I also think the keyboard is to big, I'll try out the suggestions before my comment.

Yup, I tried swiftkey and swipe but ended back at the stock keyboard. Both were buggy for me. I'm starting to wish for the ability to have control over the dictionary for stock.

Unable to use Emoji input, clipboard when using nougat quick reply

Hello, I am new to xda, I have a small issue on my galaxy s6, SM-G920I, stock nougat, and not rooted.
When I received message from sms, messenger or Whatsapp, and I want to reply using the quick reply feature from notification pull down panel, I am unable to use emoji and clipboard. The button on my keyboard is simply grayed out. Btw I'm using samsung default keyboard.
Does anyone have same issue as me? How to fix this?
Thank you.
Hi,
You could try using another keyboard, I don't remember having this problem, but I neither use Samsung Keyboard neither use emoji in quick reply. Though I'm pretty sure you can use emoji with the SwiftKey keyboard.
All the best,
~Lord

Oh, Thanks for the suggestion. :good::good:
SwiftKey Keyboard does work when I reply message through nougat quick reply.
I just wondering why the emoji input & clipboard is disabled on Samsung keyboard, when using the quick reply function in nougat. (I have the tendency of not installing apps that do the exactly same thing as default one)
Same problem here. The strangest thing is that on the GS7 that works, with the same touchwiz and android versions ?
