WRONG SECTION!!!
Here
Verizon S3 has a locked bootloader.
No root yet.
Any words or rumors from devs ? Really like the phone but no root might be a deal breaker for me

root is in the house. now to get tb working with it as im not having luck.

May get a GS3 cause I'm crazy. Couple questions though

I may get a GS3 but only if I can do a couple things ...maybe one thing. Can we remove the annoying, persistent WiFi notification in a stock ROM that's rooted and clockworked? Thank you!

Yea. I'm running Beans latest ROM n I don't get that notification

There is also a dialer code you can type in that will give you the option to turn it off.
Why would you need to be crazy to get a GS3?
Edit: IIRC it still shows up in the same spot after the code, but it shuts up about saying you should use Wifi and such
(been a while since stock, my bad)

I've read of some XML edits that can remove it but it'd need to be stock. I run stock, rooted so it'd need to be removable from the stock ROM. I wouldn't wanna see it in my notification bar or the pull down. And crazy cause I've had about a dozen phones in a year. I have a problem.

Yes, I'm also stock and rooted and i removed it, as well as that stupid popup about known networks in range.

The last update took it off for me. Haven't rooted yet and was prompted for the update I took it and after the reboot the WiFi notification was gone.

Is T-Mobile US's Support open today?

My mom got me a HTC One S for Christmas and we are wondering if the Support is working today because we have to register my new Micro Sim Card. Is the Support people working today ( the ones that you call)

Help?

I activated my T-Mobile Phone on-line, with it having to talk to anyone.
... But... Why not just call and see? If they answer, they answer - if they don't, they're closed.

Can you provide a link to where you activated it?

WWW.T-mobile.com. Login or sign up. Once you do, you can activate your sim card.

Search for it in the development section. It's literally the first sticky post...

Okay but from what I'm reading I'd only be able to get voice and text...I have to have data too. I hope I can find my answer before I root my phone and spend the extra money on a new SIM and unlimited monthly prepaid plan.

[Help] rooting w/o a pc

Help I'm trying to root or add CM10 to my Verizon GS3 SCH-I535 but I don't have a computer is there a way
I don't know of a way to root without a pc. Casual and Odin both require a pc
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
I think you are out of luck if you are on a verizon device because they come with a locked bootloader. If it was for another carrier it is possible.

This MAY work on Verizon, but not ENTIRELY sure. The guy who made the thread did say it worked on Sprint and T-Mobile S3's. But this post is all that I know of that provides a rooting from phone method.

Mobile Odin requires you to already have root access to function, so unfortunately he couldn't use Mobile Odin to flash a rooted stock ROM in this case.
