ROM2SD only works if you have CROMBi-kk, CROMi-X or miniC flashed on internal with a THATv10+ kernel. Just choose ROM2SD in the installer of CROMBi-kk to flash it to ROM2SD and the installer will do the rest.
- Install CROMBi-kk and choose ROM2SD or DATA2SD install
The ROM2SD1.zip below is only needed if you need to switch your recovery to between normal and rom2sd mode. For Example you want to backup or restore a rom2sd installation. Flash once to go rom2sd and flash again to go back to normal. A reboot always puts you back to normal. Thanks to _that!

The DATA2SD1.zip below is only needed if you need to switch your recovery to between normal and data2sd mode. For Example you want to backup or restore a data2sd installation. Flash once to go data2sd and flash again to go back to normal. A reboot always puts you back to normal.

2. Boot to recovery – Either choose Boot to Recovery from the Power Menu if available on your current ROM or from the tablet power off hold the [volume down] button and press the [power] button. Once your see the flashing RCK icon, press [volume up] to select. If another icon is flashing use [volume down] to move between icons.
3. Using your recovery make a Nandroid Backup of your current setup

5. Choose the CROMBi-kk zip file and follow the on screen prompts to customize your installation.
6. Reboot and enjoy.

Using GParted to setup a micro SD for ROM2SD or DATA2SD support
First and foremost - DO NOT USE MINI TOOL!
Formatting a micro sd card for ROM2SD
Note for DATA2SD just do one partition in stead of 2
We will be using a GParted Live boot USB and a FAST good quality micro sd like a Sandisk or Samsung Class 10 - SDHC/SDXC UHS-1 card with read speed of at least 20MB/S. If you have a cheap chinese eBay card don't bother - they are not good enough.
You will also need a USB Stick with at least 1GB size. Note this process formats the USB disk so don't keep any important files on it. It will also wipe your micro sd so make sure you are prepared.
1. Go to the link below and download the GParted Live CD/USB/HD/PXE Bootable Image and save it somewhere you remember
http://gparted.sourceforge.net/download.php
2. Download Linux Live USB Creator and install it
http://www.linuxliveusb.com/
3. Fire up LiLi USB Creator:
a. Choose your USB key - I,e, the drive letter for your USB (not sd card)
b. Choose your GParted iso image for the source
c. Choose the check box to Format Key in FAT32 and hide files
d. Click the lightning bolt to create
4. Now you have a bootable disk you need to boot from it. You may need to alter you BIOS Settings on your PC to boot from a USB Stick but mine did it without messing.
5. Insert your micro SD card into an SD Card adapter and insert into PC
6. Boot into GParted
7. Choose Gparted Live <Enter>
8. Don’t touch keymap <Enter>
9. Languge <Enter>
10. Start Gparted Automatically
11. Change device to your micro sd )it will default to you hard disk - hda– mine is /dev/sdc
12. Delete all existing partitions
For a 64GB card: (resize as needed but /system doesn't need to be bigger than 1GB)
13. Create new, always select primary: do this 3 times.
14. FAT 32 : Size 16GB – this will be /dev/sdc1 in gparted and will be your sdcard for storage in Android
15. EXT4 : Size 42GB – this will be /dev/sdc2 in gparted and will be your /data partition in Android
16. EXT4 : Size 1GB – this will be /dev/sdc3 in gparted and will be your /system partition in Android (not needed for data2sd)
Apply, wait until it finishes and then reboot. Remember to remove the usb stick
*Images stolen from elsewhere as I couldn’t get it to save mine
Now you are ready to install ROM2SD. Note if you want to use DATA2SD then only do 2 partitions 1x FAT32 and 1x larger EXT4
Then reinstall CROMBi-kk but this time choose the ROM2SD / DATA2SD option

Nice, looking forward to it, this will be my first CM rom on this bad boy!!
You are all fantastic that made this possible. Wooow will gonna try this out for sure.
Just setting up uploads for post 2 - bear with me please
In case anyone wants to try it ... in the download section of this ROM you'll also find an unofficial pre-release of TWRP 2.7 compiled by me (2.6.3-that3) that supports both JB and KK ZIPs. I can't say anything about its quality, but the devs of this ROM have tested it. The GUI is much more fluid than in earlier versions.
Note: lj said that formatting data with this recovery takes a very long time (in the order of 1-2 hours) - be patient. It is not only formatting your data, it also trims unused blocks afterwards, and you know our internal storage is not the fastest... but the advantage is that in normal use it will then find enough empty flash blocks so writes will be faster.
Downloads are up - go crazy! :fingers-crossed:
Ok, installed it affer Wipe Data/Factory reset. Upon booting keep getting this message "Unfortunately, the process android.process.media has stopped". I dont have catlog installed yet, but what info do you need, I am assuming a logcat.

Yes a logcat is what we need... If you have any quetions about pulling a logcat we can talk about that in the Q&A section for sure... Thx lj
If you would like to give the recovery in the download section a try that wold be great to.. Just read the FAQ in the Q&A section...
I unsuccessfully tried to install CROMBi-KK as ROM2SD.
Just the facts:
CROMi-X 5.4 on internal
TWRP 2.6.3.1
Flashed rom2sd1 and formatted /data on the external.
Rebooted to internal system
Rebooted into TWRP
Flashed CROMBi-KK as rom2sd with the modified _that v8 kernel.
Installation seemed to go ok - did not notice anything unusual (as in: it taking way long or finishing under a minute etc.)
Back to home in TWRP and flashed rom2sd1 as per instructions although I was wondering:
The Aroma installer changes the mount points so TWRP can flash to the external partitions, right? And the mount points get reset to normal when you reboot or flash rom2sd1 again, right? So if you flash gapps right after the rom flash - why flash rom2sd1? Wouldn't that change the mount points to the internal again????
Anyway, I flashed gapps after flashing rom2sd1 and it failed: Got a warning like: "This package is only for KK roms...." - so I kinda suspect I turned TWRP towards internal with that rom2sd1 flash.....
Ok, I thought, I'll flash gapps later. Rebooted system and got to the preinit script starting. Next thing is a blank screen - nothing happening for 10 minutes. No boot animation, no nothing.
Attached the tab to PC, tried to run a logcat in adb, but got no connection.
Long pressed power and took the card out when it rebooted to boot the internal.
Got to preinit starting, next is a blank screen - nothing happening at all.
TWRP log is attached
I would try it again with another kernel, but it's getting late. I'm leaving for a two week work trip tomorrow and will not take the TF700. The TF701 is going to get road tested ... and then unlocked - finally!
Maybe it's a fluke, maybe it's the card (although CM10.2 was running fine on it) - I'm sure you guys have it all worked out when I try the next time.
Exciting times again! Almost wrote: on this forum. But actually the different CROMi threads should have their own section - would save us a lot of back and forth! LOL
BTW, much fun with trying to separate Q&A and dev sections - this crowd is used to hang out in the CROMi threads and the community aspect of it should not be underestimated. I understand why you'd like to keep it separate, but I'm afraid the policing necessary to enforce it would change the "atmosphere" around here quite a bit.
Agreed mate. The policing will get tiresome but it will help whilst Dev is necessary.
So onto your problem with rom2sd.
I built the rom2sd1 zip script into the installer and call it twice once at the start so it installs to SD and again at the end to revert back to normal.
I didn't want the user left thinking one thing but the ROM forcing another.
But you just gave me an idea of how the gapps package can auto detect which one it should use
BTW, I flashed the rom2sd version many times and it does work. Pm me when you get up and I'll talk you through it.

Have flashed _that recovery, wiped top four options SD, flashed ROM2SD, rebooted recovery, flashed ROM2SD1, installed gapps, waited 20 minutes with boot animation. Not loading. Restored backup. All good. Think it's looping.

Can you provide a logcat of the bootloop please. Search for how to do a logcat over adb if you are unsure. :good:

Yes for some people it seems the installer is not managing rom2sd properly. I'll have a look later.
All the people that had this problem can you
a) tell me the recovery you are using
b) provide the aroma log from the end of the ROM flash please.
Thank you!
What more can you tell us about TWRP 2.6.3-that3? Is this unique to installing your CROMBi-kk or can we use it on any Rom that installs on the TF700? So if I already have TWRP 2.6.3.1 installed, do I need to flash TWRP 2.6.3-that3 first or just press on with what is installed. Is there a thread or change log for TWRP 2.6.3-that3?
Thanks

2.6.3.1 should be fine. That's is a fixed up version of 2.6.3.x or are 2.7 release I think. No changelog avail the moment but I know they implemented his fixes into official 2.7 which is coming soon I believe.

PRIME! v1.6
This is a custom rom for the Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101
Special thanks to: Hacre | afm | MoDaCo | dc13 | supercurio | Bumble-Bee | RaYmAn | netarchy | Vividboarder | CurtisBeef
This rom is a work in progress and all feedback is appreciated. It has everything that the stock rom has to offer with a few modifications designed to provide a better user experience. As always whenever installing any rom, please ensure that you are fully aware of what you are doing as no one enjoys seeing their pride and joy end up bricked or stuck in a boot-loop (although these are easily fixed if either were to happen so don't panic in the event that something goes wrong).
Instructions:
1. Copy ROM to sdcard
2. Verify the MD5 of the zip on the sdcard, DO NOT FLASH IF THIS DOESN'T MATCH THE MD5 UNDER THE DOWNLOAD LINK!
3. Boot into clockworkmod recovery
4. Take a nandroid backup (optional but highly recommended)
5. Install the ROM
6. Reboot and wait... The first boot may take a while...
7. After a successful restart, you can change one of the power mod or remove it if desired.

About wifi support for channels 12 and 13 in Prime 1.6
When set to US mode the Transformer does not see chans 12 or 13. This is the default behaviour on US and WW roms. In EU mode these channels can be used.
To allow the TF to set EU mode please wait until three minutes pass on the first power up and then restart your transformer. This is after fresh install or factory reset.
US/EU mode can also be toggled by running /system/etc/setwifi.sh from a cli and you can check whether you are in EU or US mode by looking at the flag in /data. If this is removed the TF will set EU mode automatically on next reboot.
Strange codes appearing in Dos windows using ADB
The reason you see are seeing strange stuff in ADB with windows is because the dos prompt cannot interpret the colour codes. You have two solutions.
1- enable colour support using this - http://adoxa.110mb.com/ansicon/index.html
2- disable colour support...
Code:
alias ls='ls --color=never'
Spare Parts, newest OTA - sounds like fun, will try when I get home
Working well so far, installed over the top of dc13s rom with no issues.
Cheers
I installed this fine thanks loads.
Would be nice if the asus update reminder could be taken off. I keep getting prompted to download it. I saw the thread about removing it but would rather a more permanent solution without the use for 3rd party apps.
Will give it some testing tonight

Not until there is a way to get custom recovery running, there is an exploit being developed but it was based on the first update. It's currently being tested against the second update (20110423).

Yes, just flash and reboot and you won't lose your stuff.
For peace of mind though you should take a nandroid backup first, it's good practice to always do this before flashing any rom.
Oh I know, I've been flashing ROMs on my HTC hero since day 1
has this been tested with a US transformer yet?
I have only got a UK device to test my roms on but if you want to flash it and provide feedback then that would be greatly appreciated.

Remember you must have a fast microSD card formatted with a fat32, ext4 for /data and ext4 for /system in GPARTED for Rom2sd.
1. You need a fast microsd card - preferably at least a 16GB Class 10 - UHS-1 card like a sandisk or Samsung with a read speed of over 20MB/s
2. You need to use Linux or how I did it a GParted ISO on a Bootable USB Stick on a PC
3. In GParted set up your micro sd with 3 partitions all primary (no logical) in this order FAT32, EXT4, EXT4
They will be used as SDCARD, /data, /system in that order so I recommend the following sizes for a 16GB sdcard; 4GB for SDCard, 11GB for /data and 1GB for system or thereabouts.
If you used a 32GB or 64GB card then increase the SDCard and /data partitions as you see fit (I went with 16GB, 47GB and 1GB on my 64GB card)
4. The ROM now flashes the correct preinit script files to your normal system setup so as long as you have a _that or hunds based kernel it will detect your ROM2SD automatically
5. Install the ROM2SD version and let it finish. Let it reboot.
6. You should be presented with a clean install setup wizard when it boots if it has worked. If it hasn't worked you will be back at your previous CROMi-X/miniC installation launcher.
7. Job done - set up your ROM2SD however you like - it can't interfere with your normal setup
8. You will notice 2 folders on root - datai and sdcardi - these allow you to see your internal /datai and sdcardi partitions if you wish to copy files over
9. As long as the SDCard is inserted you will boot to ROM2SD, remove it (not whilst in android unless you want to crash) and on that boot you will switch back to your normal miniC or CROMi-X if you installed that to SD.

==================================================================================================
Various Kernel Benchmarks
Right benchmarks with various kernel options:
All were taken on CROMi-X 5.1 Odex with default options at 240dpi unless otherwise stated (fsync off / on). I've used quadrant as most people understand the results - I know it's not the best and I did 3 tests each time and took the 3rd result.
Stock - fsync on - 5672
_that v4 - fsync off - 5981
_that v4 - fsync on + data2sd - 5745
_thatv5 - fsync on - 6267
_that v5 - fsync off - 6414
_that v5 - fsync on + data2sd - 6143
Hunds + ET - fsync on - 6684
Hunds + ET - fsync off - 7245
Hunds + ET - fsync on + data2sd - 6725
Hunds - fsync off - 6805
Hunds - fsync on +data2sd - 6597
So data2sd doesn't really offer that much if you keep fsync on. It does feel faster when loading large games and files. The issue is it is a bit more unstable and easier to corrupt the data partition if you have fsync off. Same risk with normal data I suppose but less likely to corrupt due to less sponteneous reboots.
Is data2sd worth it? Only if you want to use your tablet whilst downloading large files or play store updates or you are prone to corruption with fsync off. Otherwise you can achieve at least the same speed with fsync off although with a risk to corrupt your data partition eventually.

You're more than welcome!
But could I trouble you for more detailed instructions for thick headed noobs like me on the ROM2SD installation?
I'm good until point 5), but then....
How's the hell do you install mini-X to the microSD?
I understand that once installed on a microSD with the correct partitions the kernel (??) will auto-detect it and boot into the rom installed on the card.
But how do you install? Boot into TWRP with miniCROMi-X on the fat32 partition of the card and just install from there?
I have to admit, it's late and I'm lazy. Just got finished with a clean install of 5.1.2 (which btw is super smooooth so far) and would hate to flash over that if I'm wrong.

I'm going to get a full guide written mate on how to get the parted iso create a bootable usb and then use it Give me a few days
Also we have an alternative method for ROM2SD from _that that may make it even easier to install
I just tried to install, minicromi -and after twrp installed it, it didn't go into setup... just said reboot. At that point it would simply stick in a boot loop. Tried to reinstall boot loader and will retry. Really want to put all on my new SD card to speed this baby up
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
success!
Update: I can avoid the reboots if I pop out my SD card. So. Just installed mini, now will go back to twrp and pop in SD card (partitioned), and try to install rom2sd
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tap a talk
Keep in mind im a beginner!
Few words of advise:
1) I ended up using new cromi 5.1.2
2) you must install twice!!! first without the sd card (i had mine in and it caused problems)- and choose option to set up rom2sd
3) start device- then reboot again into twrp bootloader- and reinstall rom but choose rom2sd now---(now insert sd card!)
first time it crashed after rom2sd- but second time (switched to hunds) and boom...its a miracle...device is awesome!!!
side note- i DID use the micro explorer windows partition tool many said "doesnt work well"- had windows 8 device- worked like a charm.
worth the late night figuring this out.
sdbags- how can i donate! you are the man

I've been having a somewhat similar problem. I now tried your version, but I still end up with it upgrading the 87 apps, then it forever stalls at Android is upgrading... with the subtext Starting apps. I've installed it like 10 times, this last 2 times using your method (_that's OC then Hunds), no difference no matter what I try :crying:
It works fine without the card and the Rom2SD compatible option install. During second round Installed 5.1.2 both from internal memory with popping in the card midway, as you wrote and also from the card itself, left in, obviously.
When you make the partitions on the microSD card, do you give it a label or flag. I do neither. I'm at my wit's end... and wife's starting to get pissed off that I'm spending all day on this - again!

I don't understand what problems you guys are having, I have installed this 20 times plus and it works fine every time.
I gave my partitions labels - not sure if it matters.
So you have fat32, ext4 and ext4
You install the rom and you have two choices:
1. You install it without the ROM2SD compatibility and without ROM2SD as you only care about internal. (If you install it with ROM2SD compatibility it is going to try and boot from the SD card but you currently have nothing installed so it will never work - this will force you to have to boot with the card out)
2. You install the ROM2SD (this automatically forces compatibility to internal as well - maybe this is the confusion?). As long as the card is in it will boot to ROM2Sd but only as long as you have CROM-X or miniCROMi-X on internal.....
The only time you need to choose ROM2SD compatibility is when you already have a working rom on sd and you are upgrading internal.
Does that make sense?
So what you meant was:
1) Install it first the good old fashioned way choosing normal mode and let it boot and finish setup.
2) Then do the exact same thing again, only this time with the install Rom2SD option instead of the “normal” option.
Is that correct?
4. You must have already installed CROMi-X with ROM2SD compatibility selected from the installer and have it working - dirty or clean will work.
5. Install the ROM2SD version and let it finish. Let it reboot.
That part 4 sounds like my point 1 but with the compatibility option instead which you say don't work, hence the confusion.
I install two different boot animations so I can see where it's booting from. My point 1 is done and all good. Then I did point 2 and just like before it starts just fine, but then ends up stuck at the “Android is upgrading... Starting app.” screen and it never finishes. Last night I just did that too and this morning it was dead and out of battery (started with a full charge).
I'm dying to know what labels you gave your 3 partitions respectively. Since you didn't mention flags, I'm guessing you didn't flag one as boot for instance. This would be a really quick to change and see it that is where the dog lies burried.
Thanks for your quick reply btw. Mine a bit late as I just had to try out your suggestions.

Yes 1 and 2 are how I normally flash it. In fact I just did it again tonight and it worked fine.
4 and 5 (what happened to 3? ) will also work.
I'll think about the installer next time to make it a bit more obvious.
You don't need to flag anything - only primary partitions. Don't need to set boot flag.
I labelled mine like this:
FAT32 : STORAGE
EXT4 : SD-EXT
EXT4 : SYSTEM
But you could label them whatever you want.....

Not too sure about that just label them whatever part though.
Originally (yesterday) I had it named it Partion 1, Partition 2 and Partition 3. Then today I removed the labels entirely and it still acted funny. Just now I popped in the card, ran GParted and noticed the 3rd partition was given the label SYSTEM during the previous non-functional installation, but the first 2 still had no label. My problem was the apps loading. I noticed the installation seemed longer and don't remember it saying: Optimizing SD-EXT or something to that effect, "installing Dropbox, installling Titanium" etc at the end of all that quickly passing text when I ran the Rom2SD install previously, but I'm so tired right now it might be something I'm just imagining.
All I can say now is that just the fact that I named them exactly like you named yours it now works brilliantly :highfive: and that "apps starting" part took a only a few seconds. It seems the installation, in my case at least, can't figure out that it needs to install the apps to 2nd partition without the label SD-EXT or more likely given the timing of failure, it just fails to load them from said partition.
To anyone reading this, just name your partitions like sbdags does, just to be on the safe side and you're likely naming them anyway, or if not, then it is 1 minute well spent.
I've wiped, installed, booted, setup, etc. on the wrong side of 20 times since yesterday morning and I'm almost in disbelief that it's actually working all of a sudden :victory: and so late that it's now bedtime and I'll have to wait till tomorrow to take the damn thing flyin'

Seems to be working fine and smooth. Not sure if Browser2Ram is already implemented as standard?
How much screentime is people getting? Seems like the battery drain is bigger, but I have to give more charge cycles before I jump to conclusions.
Great work!

Yes b2r is implemented by default as are hunds kernel with extreme tweaks. This is why your battery life isn't great. This ROM is designed for the speed demons. It comes over clocked and over volted.

Hi
I installed the rom yesterday and it's running great thanks! I am having one issue which I would like to be able to fix. When I select text by a long press on the screen the options show up to copy or search web but when I select search web it says Search Via - No apps can perform this action. Is there a app I can add that is missing to fix this?
Thanks

This is my personal rom -- source build from CyanogenMod 11.0 codebase by using portions from Evervolv (device tree, kernel, etc.). I have used few necessary modifications which I have learnt from other xda/github members (see in credits section).
Disclaimer
I am not the orginal author this ROM, I have just built it for my private pleasure. This ROM has been tested and verified to be stable for daily use, and even if I have spent a lot of my spare time into keeping it up-to-date, there may be some unknown bugs. Therefore be warned: If you rely on your device as it is your only phone be very cautious. If you decide to flash this ROM, you do it at your own risk and I am not responsible for any resulting damages!

About the rom
- Based on CM-11.0 codebase
- Some CM apps were removed to slim down the ROM (e.g. CMAccount, CMFileManager, CMWallpapers, etc)
- Trackball wake option in buttons menu (enabled per default)
- Tweaks for longer battery life and faster scrolling performance
- ART
- SELinux (disabled by intention)

Bugs in this ROM
- All bugs which are present in CM and Evervolv roms, e.g. Video Recording and MMS not working: You can try Videocam Illusion (audio at 44.1KHz!) and Textra SMS instead
- Sometimes the cLock widget does not display weather icons (Just remove the widget and add it again)
- According to user feedback, Exposed framework in combination with Gravitybox is no longer working on this rom!

Bugs with K3
- Some SD cards are not working with the latest rom version 2.0; In such case the rom gets stuck at the bootanimation, and you would find a bunch of logcat errors, e.g.:
Code:
I/dalvikvm( 95): Unable to open or create cache for /system/framework/conscrypt.jar (/data/dalvik-cache/[email protected]@[email protected])
D/dalvikvm( 95): Unable to process classpath element '/system/framework/conscrypt.jar'
E/dalvikvm( 95): Could not stat dex cache directory '/data/dalvik-cache': No such file or directory
-> Possible solution #1 if you want to stay with K3: try a different SD card..
-> Possible solution #2: Flash this rom with K2
Please let me know if you find bugs. And please take a logcat if you encounter a FC (force close). Here you can learn to logcat like a pro!

Slim Gapps for KitKANG v3.x (82.69 MB)
K3.0.16 for being flashed over KitKANG -- ONLY for experimental use / just for kicks / NOT recommended as daily driver (2.6 MB)
What's new in v3.1:
* This build includes the official CM/Android Security Update from 1st Nov 2015
* From now on there is only one build with kernel 2.6.38 (default CPU gov: smartassH3) which offers great speed and battery life (daily driver)
* If you want to have kernel 3.0.16 (experimental) use this flashable zip
* Patched the previously missed out security holes in both kernels (2.6.38 and 3.0.16) as mentioned by walter79
* Compiled the kernel with UBER toolchain 4.9.4 for increased speed and battery life
* Build target reverted to userdebug as there were a few problems with getting root
* Added a new menu item entitled "Performance" in Settings > Personalization (this will give you access to the KernelTweaker app)
* Updated NovaLauncher to 4.1.0

Attention:
* To install KitKANG version 3 you have to
** switch back to the "old" KK version of TWRP (credits @Chromium) or 4EXT (credits @madmaxx82) Recovery. Old versions of CWM may cause issues.
** switch back to the "old" hboot which has a system partition of 250mb. These include stock hboot or Alpha Jelly (250/5/182) hboot.
General requirements:
- Rooted
- An hboot which provides a system partition with 250mb. These include stock hboot or Alpha Jelly (250/5/182) hboot.
- A 512mb - 1.5gb EXT partition (EXT4 recommended) on your sdcard. Use this guide to create the partition. Partitions made using other tools (CWM, Minitool Partition Wizard, etc.) will likely cause issues.
- The latest TWRP (credits @Chromium) or 4EXT (credits @madmaxx82) Recovery. Old versions of CWM may cause issues.
Instructions for installing KitKANG v3.1
1) Backup your current apps incl. their data (use Titanium backup from Appstore)
2) Backup your current ROM from recovery
3) In recovery do a full wipe (format all partitions except for SD)
4) Flash rom
5) Boot and let the rom settle down (3-5 min)
6) Enable developer settings
- Open Settings > About Phone and tap 7 times on the "Build number"
- In Developer settings enable "Advanced boot menu"
7) Enable A2SD
- run Terminal Emulator
- type 'su' and press enter
- allow root access in the popup query
- type 'a2sd install' and press enter
- reply to questions in this order
--> y n n (dalvik to card - yes, data to card - no, reboot - no)
8) From "Advanced boot menu" select reboot into recovery and install the slim gapps package for KitKANG 3.x

What's new in v3.0:
* Patched Stagefright 2.0 & Android Security Updates from Nov 2015
* After considering usage reports from version 2.0, I decided to return to 250mb hboot and A2SD which will allow our ancient device to get the most out of Android 4.4.4
* Made one build with kernel 2.6.38 (default CPU gov: smartassH3) which offers great speed and battery life (daily driver)
* Made other build with kernel 3.0.16 (default CPU gov: smartassH3) which offers great speed and short battery life (experimental)
* Changed animation/transition scale defaults to 25% which lead to faster animations and smoother UI transitions
* Attention: this build's target is user instead of userdebug. This is for disabling debugging modules and root, in exchange it should result in higher performance. In case you need root, you need to flash SuperSU (see installation instructions).

Take PICO MODULAR GApps with proper DPI play services ~99MB from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/paranoid-android/general/gapps-pa-google-apps-roms-t3074801
What's new in v1.2:
1) Use Data2ext4 (credits walter79)
* This is meant to permanently solve the biggest remaining pain that bravo kk users have: running out of space on /data
* Makes using A2SD scripts from Evervolv obsolete
* Requires a SD-EXT partition on SD card of size between 1GB and 4GB
* Requires a custom hboot which provides sufficient space on /system (e.g. 420-5-12)
2) Added quite a few tweaks and build.prop mods:
* Increase ui responsiveness (credits CM)
* Enable slow blur (credits CM)
* Media profiles: use m4v to gain performance improvements (credits walter79)
* Improved incoming call response time (if screen is turned off the call appears now after ~3 seconds) (credits walter79 and pixelfreak)
* Per default KSM enabled (gives our device more virtual RAM)
3) Added back an improved version of Torch app which won't shutdown when screen turns off

I am glad to hear that it boots! :good:
I also could not connect to wifi sometimes -- I have solved it by inserting a SIM card.
Is this working a liitle bit? So can i use this? Or is this just such an alpha test rom, which does not really work?
I have experienced only a few soft reboots (when adding/tapping on a widget). And it has sometimes graphic glitches (black regions in stock browser like in Nikez KK).
Apart from that following things are working:
- Telephony
- USB mass storage
- Bluetooth
- Wifi (with inserted SIM only)
- 3G
- Camera
Not working:
- Videorecording

- Wifi (network with wpa2 security) is still not working although i inserted a sim card. Maybe the sim card has to be inserted during flashing the rom or the first boot?
- 3G works without probs
- Gravity Box App has FC when i try to open it
- it seems that xposed framework 2.4 is not active (the app opens and is telling exactly what i wrote before). Even a new download and installation within the app doesn't solve that. Not even a reboot.
- Google Search has random FC's
Despite the Wifi-Problem, it's nealry possible to use this rom as a daily driver! Thanks for your effort Spezi for this development! :good:

You weren't exactly clear with your first question.
So if you understand what the hboots are, and the clear differences between stock and Alpha Jelly hboots, the answer which one is 'best' is pretty obvious...
Stock: 250MB /system, 40MB /cache, 147MB /data
Alpha Jelly: 250MB /system, 5MB /cache, 182MB /data
Would you like more data :good:. or would you like more cache ?

Then reinstall ZOMBi-X but this time choose the ROM2SD / DATA2SD option

How does this compare performance wise to cm11? Is it mostly different features, or does one handle the io issues better? Thanks for continued work on this device!
Hi all,
I really want to test it out AND... i like the codename :good::highfive::silly:
Across how many Transformer Pad models is it / will be available ? TF700T for sure... TF300T ? TF701T ?

For now it will most likely just be the 700 & 300 which will mostly work for the 201 on the hairybean bootloader ...
I am looking into the 701 and have started the port but there are some issue with the vendor blobs ..
One day at a time ...
Thx Josh
Just curious, but why create a new ROM from another base? Is OMNI better than CyanogenMod? If so, in what way?
Thx...Scott

IMO it runs faster and smoother But other s have a very good experience with CM11 as well. I would say it is no as stable as CM11 though - hence the BETA name. It is quite different as well - floating windows, etc.
Cool!
Hi,
Thanks for this ROM. I recall a discussion I had with a friend about OmniROM vs. Cyanogenmon (an idea with a simple google search...). First impression is that is really smoother in my opinion and I really like the toggle view in the performance in settings! So, clean install with f2fs internal, _that's kernel and usual settings from crombi-kk. just one question , will the profile chooser be available or I am too blind too find it?
Anyway, I am impressed of your work and wanted more to say thanks rather asking a question.
Regards.

A question - couldn't find it in OP - if I am currently running Crombi-KK (Aug 10) with F2FS ROM2SD - do I need to do a clean install of Zombi or can I flash directly - same as an update to Crombi-KK?
Wanna give this new ROM a try and see if there is fact an improvement - my ROM2SD install of Crombi-KK works so well now - no glitches and runs like a champ.
Thanks to all the devs for their hard work!

I would highly recommend a full wipe as they use diff vendor blobs....
If you do dirty flash and have issues, you know what we are going to say to do...
So I leave it to you, but if you do find out things along the way let us know .. :highfive:
Thx Josh

Well as I wrote I did a clean install but in internal using f2fs. Latest TWRP, a factory reset and advanced format as I wasn't sure if DATA had f2fs format because of the twrp's bug of not showing it right. Using Titanium Back Up I restored the preferred app+data. But I see there is not adaptive backlight choice plus the profile for the cpu frequencies but overall for a beta I am really impressed. I suggest with a nandroid backup and TBU you should give it a try!
Good luck.
EDIT:
Clean installation for me is mandatory of not having issues when changing ROMs.. Josh was faster!

Just like Josh I nuse them all including both GPU tweaks and pretty much all of the others (zip-align etc.)
The setup works flawlessly.
I will try a dirty-flash just to see what happens (I'm a masochist I guess and I may learn a few things and share with the community :sly: .
Ok so here's probably a dumb question. Im running ROM2SD now with the correct partitioning. If I want to clean install, how do I do the equivalent of "factory wipe" on the SD card? Previously I would just click factory wipe and then install the rom, im guessing now that its on SD i have to do something different...
Does this have a theme engine, to use an L based theme for example? Thanks

Download the recovery file from above, put it into the same folder where you have adb and fastboot files. Please rename it to twrp.blob or cwm.img and follow the instructions below:
Connect your transformer to your PC, reboot to the bootloader to enable fastboot by either holding down [power] and [volume down] or opening a command prompt in your adb.exe folder in windows:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
To flash the recovery:
Code:
fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash recovery cwm.img
or
Code:
fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash recovery twrp.blob
A blue bar will go accross the screen on the tab and the command prompt will indicate it was successful in about 10 seconds
Then reboot the tablet either back to the bootloader or to android to complete
Code:
fastboot -i 0x0B05 reboot-bootloader

Then reinstall ZOMBi-POP but this time choose the ROM2SD / DATA2SD option
IRC FREENODE zombi-x
All,
The ROM is still in BETA and by flashing it you are helping the BETA Testing process
It may still have some bugs, spontaneously reboot, drain the battery faster or heat up a bit. The aim is to make it better and fix them.
If you find a bug and want to report it here please post a logcat (after it occurred) with a description of what you were doing at the time and the rough timing in the logcat to look at (these things get huge!).
You can also post a dmesg which is the kernel boot logs and can indicate issues with data corruption or hardware.
If you get a reboot then please post a last_kmsg from the /proc folder.
How to get a logcat
How to get useful logs

Downloading now... getting ready for lift-off. By the way, I tweaked the zombi-pop dude's head I used to smooth its chin some -- I did a sloppy job in the one posted here above.

Thx Josh
Thank you so much for releasing this! It's simply amazing!
Here's the result of my experience with this ROM so far:
- After formatting data, it installed ok, first boot was rather quick. While filling up my google account on the first boot, the tablet suddenly rebooted. Very weird, but after the reboot it worked just fine, just had to enter the initial wizard again. ('m using f2fs so hope everything is fine, it seems so as I didn't have to reinstall the rom).
- But then I noticed the camera didn't work. However, that got fixed after doing a reboot on my own.
- Overall, seems really fast and responsive, and I'm not even running on ROM2SD yet, just on internal and still feels quick.
- So, just missing the dock battery info on the dual battery widget :good:
Thank you so much guys! You're the best! Looking forward to further releases! :good:
PS: Altough the charging light comes up, it seems the dock is not charging the tabet for some reason.
EDIT: The dock is charging the tablet after all, just no information is available.
PS2: 1080p support on YouTube app! :good:
Firstly, I'd like to thank the developers for their outstanding work!
Now, I am curious if LP really runs better (in the TF700, specifically) or is it just our flash-aholic personalities? In this case I am a bit hesitant, due to the lack of XPosed. (In particular, I'd like to have XPrivacy... Greenify is also nice...)
So, is there a really noticeable difference from the previous Zombi? (I know it is, perhaps, subjective, but I'd like to hear opinions... I've heard not so great comments on the Galaxy S5 forums.)
Thanks,
Luis
The only thing I miss is portrait mode, anyone know a way to force it through?
Are there any ASUS Apps included or any of the Apps Packs by kansasboy001 compatible?

I don't think there is a new ASUS app package yet, but remember we are the bleeding edge right now. Since this rom has opened the lollipop doorway, it's only a matter of time before someone follows @sbdags through.
yeah i figured it might be too early.
are there any asus devices out that have official lollipop rom? maybe we can port those apps over.

will manually editting the overlay/frameworks/base/core/res/res/values/config.xml file correct the issue?
remove the two lines and add the two new ones?
so far it looks like this rom is very stable with only a minor bug
