[Q] Waterproof, small phablet rumors? - General Questions and Answers

I was about ready to sell my S4 and get a Note 3. But now I'm sold on waterproof technology like the Sony Z Ultra phablet has. Unfortunately, the Sony is missing LED flash and has a dim screen when compared to Note 3.
So I'm wondering, are there any "superphone" spec'd phablets coming out soon from any mfg's that will have very bright screens (for sunlight capability) and also be water resistant?
Note 4 isn't due till Q4 of 2014 which puts it too far off.
And I'm not able to find any rumors of a new version of the Z Ultra?

Please Help Me!! Should I Wait For Galaxy W Or Buy Neo V?
Please Comment.....Any Help Would Be Appreciated!!!
I think you should get the Neo V as it will definitely be getting ICS, and maybe even another update after that as Sony have been improving. The Galaxy Wonder probably will get ICS but Samsung take forever with their updates.
go for neo V sony confirmed that it will be getting ANDROID 4.0...
based on your (wish) list, neo v won imo.
PIck neo v, its cooler. there are also great support for that device here in xda. very customizable. camera is good with 5mp. Sony keeps their OS updated.

Which Large Screen SmartPhone?

I am pensioning off my venerable Sony Ericsson K800i.
I want a phone with a larger screen.
I am a Sammy fan.
I want 4G capability.
With this in mind, in my market, I have a few choices:
S3 LTE.
S4.
Note II LTE (or wait till Autumn/ Fall for the Note 3)
Mega 6.3" (was due May but now put back till July)
Mega looks like cut-down Note. No stylus, lesser resolution 720 HD, lesser screen quality (TFT not AMOLED) lesser processor (1.7 DC) lesser RAM (1.5) bigger battery (3.2) and bigger screen (of course), and presumably much slimmer price tag...
I don't have a clue what the retailers will market the Mega for yet, but price aside, which would you go for?
Would the freshness of the S4 over the Note win you over, especially seeing as the screen size is only marginally smaller?
Or would you accept the lower res screen of the Mega as a trade off for the extra inches against the SIII?
The price is a small factor here. What's most important is getting the right handset.
Please help!
S4 is better as it got 4.2 officially,,

My Note 2 screen got broken (again) so I give up on Samsung phones

Short story:
This is the 2nd time my Note2 was dropped and the 2nd time the screen got broken (the original Samsung Protective Cover doesn't protect a ****. After also owning a SGS, Sgs2 and SGS3 I'm tired of their build quality specially when it comes to bezels that should protect the screen so I'll replace the screen and sell my Note 2.
I will miss that battery and S Pen, but as I can't have my Note2 with an Otterbox Defender there are big chances of breaking the screen again in the future.
What phones do you guys suggest?
I was thinking about the Xperia Z1 but the screen is only 5".
The Nexus 5 is an option because although the build quality will be just a little bit better than GN2 it will be cheaper, but it's manufactured by LG...
Oppo N1 is too big
Xiaomi Mi3 is powerful and cheap, but in my opinion is ugly as hell..
So what do you guys suggest? Don't tell me Note 3. I can't stand anymore how bad Samsung protect the screen of their phones, the only one which screen was a bit protected was the SGS2

You know, every phone can break if stressed enough, no phone is safe from that, not even those aluminium ones. If you consider yourself to be unlucky try something cheap from China, there are a lot of phones with 4 cores 2 GB of ram and FHD displays, you can get them for less then 300USD, well maybe a bit more for 2GB version. MTK6589T cpu @ 1.5Ghz can get you about 17-19K in new Antutu but the 3D performance will suffer compared to Note2. No S-Pen also there. You can try UMI X2, ZOPO C2 or NEO N003 or any other similar phone (those were 5" ones and much less than 300USD). I recently bought one of those for my son and he is quite happy with it (NEO one has 3000mAh battery).
Whether the reason is build quality or something else, this comes down to a request for which device you should get next, which you are free to ask about in one of these two existing sticky threads here:

[Q] Looking for a flagship-level android phone with a small screen

Hi, I'm due for a new phone and need something high-functioning, - been on a N4mako for the past 2 years. It seems that the latest high end devices are all the size of nexus6 or Galaxy 5 which is huge. Is there anything around 4.5 inches diagonal that delivers?
Nexus5 is the obvious answer but i don't like switching devices often, and it's been around for a while. Will it hold for the next 2 years, or is there something better around that size?
Thx

Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. Or, the Z1 Compact if you want something cheaper. The Z3 Compact has a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801, 2GB RAM, 4.6" 720p screen, 16GB ROM/128GB microSD slot, and front-facing speakers. It's also waterproof and has amongst the best battery life of any smartphone. The Z1 Compact is last year's model (they skipped making a Z2 Compact), but is still a very well-built and very capable phone.
The 2013 Moto X is also a very nice, smaller Android phone. Same size screen as your Nexus 4, but with smaller dimensions. Its specs on paper aren't really "flagship", but it has a unique processor combination that makes the phone run without any lag, and you won't find it lacking in performance.
That's exactly what I was thinking ^
As mentioned the Z3 compact...

[Q] Buy a good phone

Hi Good day
I want the best phone I bought this list:
samsung galaxy s5
sony xperia z3
LG G3
But do not know which one is better.
Please tell me which of these three is the best?
Thank you
GS 5 Good camera, amoled screen, removable battery, water proof?,+samsung gimmicks
Z3 Good camera, good batery life, water proof, decent design
G3 Quad HD, Cheaper than Z3 or GS 5, decent design, removable battery, decent camera, big phone.
Negatives:
GS 5 Samsung Knox, plastic,bloatware
Not removable battery, prone to scratches because of glass sandwich
Locked bootloader, Mediocre battery life
Choose one, all of them are good phones.
1. Sony Xperia z3
2. LG G3
3. Samsung Galaxy S5
Thank you friends.
Please give me more tips.

You can really just flip a coin to choose (assuming you can find a 3 sided coin). G3 has the bigger screen and best scree-to-size ratio and probably the best camera. It has the benefit of SD card slot and removable battery, but no waterproofness, which the other 2 have. With Samsung you're stuck with TouchWiz and a GB less RAM, so it won't perform as well in real-life (meaning outside of synthetic benchmarks). The Sony has the best battery life, but without the removable battery, and the front facing speakers are great for media consumption.
1. Z3
2.LG G3
3.Samsung Galaxy S5
Between Lg G3 and galaxy note 4 Which do you like?

Isure buy one of these phones you please tell me.
Thank you very much

Well it depends on what you want, but if photos matter to you choose the Note 4.
Just in case look at this comparation and think what do you need more. http://www.phonearena.com/phones/compare/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-4,LG-G3/phones/8577,8347
Hi
Sony Xperia z3 is best phone.
Gotta go with LG G3
Good screen, decent battery life, good screen to body ratio, great speakers, good development
To not open another thread have similair question:
I am upgrading from Galaxy S3 and I have some options trough my provider which ensures me a cheaper deal and this are:
- Galaxy A5
- Galaxy S5
- Z3
- G3
I am leaning towards A5 since its metal and alot cheaper then other 3, but I heard it has bad CPU and can't switch battery, is it really that much worse then the others? Would an A5 even be considered an "upgrade" over my S3?
The Note 4 is the king of the phablets and the most powerful device on the current market. If you're considering it, it's truly a brilliant device.
The G3 is a flagship phone, the Note 4 is highest-end device. Comparing them isn't really fair, as Flagships aren't the highest end devices.

The A5 is almost identical to the S3. Not worth it, and indeed you can't change the battery. The A3 is a mid-low range device.
For the others it's a matter of preference. What features are most important to you?

Well I really like Note 4 but I am afraid it might be too big for me, I remember when I had the first Note, I was struggling to use it for let's say when I had to quickly make a call during driving or taking it out of pockets or such. To me tough most important is the battery life, good camera\video, no lagging - quickness of making calls. Note 4 kindof fits my description it's really perfect - but the size. If it was just a little bit smaller :\ I guess I might have to wait another month or two for the S6.
The Galaxy S5 is 5.1" and IP67 Certified aka it's waterproof, the others you mention don't have that kind of protection, USB3.0, removable battery, a better 16MP camera with OIS.
The 5.5" LG G3 doesn't have much development for custom ROMS (if I'm wrong, pls correct me) even though it has a bigger screen then the S5, and both supports microSDXC to 128GB and have Snapdragon 801 chips.
The Sony smartphone is a good device but again in my eyes, Sony fell behind and they're having a hard time coming back up.
I always tell users to look at the whole picture and if in doubt just walk into any store and personally test the forementioned devices you're inquiring about in your first post.
Hope this helps a little.
Sony Xperia is the best chocie according to me. Next Samsung S5 and then LG.
