SPRD Galaxy S4 - General Topics

Hello, I have a SPRD Galaxy S4, a S4 clone.
I just wanted to know something, it says I have Android 4.4.2 JB, but when I go on Antutu it says Android SDK version 2.3
What does this mean?

No, it doesn't appear on the play store.
So I guess I'm running 2.3. Just when I go on About phone it says android version 4.2.2
Is there any way I can install Cyanogenmod on this phone?
Thanks.

i doubt anyone has made cyanogenmod specifically for your clone device, only Very popular clones get roms.

I just did some digging around on Google and I didn't see any development information regarding that handset. The trouble with the low-end phones/legacy devices/no-name brands is they don't see the mainstream and most developers don't even notice or care that they are there.
I've been doing some research to buy one of these cheap dual core dual sim phones. This has an MT6577 chipset and if I'm not mistaken there are quite a number of MT6577 phones which have been rooted. So I would imagine that this can be rooted, its just that there isn't any great interest surrounding it yet.
I just bought this device and looked all over but couldn't find a way to root it and to get things worse i live in brazil and this phone was not set to the brazilian phone numbers format.

This may be a begining. Do you know any ICS dual sim MT6577 that have been successfully rooted?

The phone don't have an update option on the About menu, like other devices, and I don't really see any developer working on this device, so I really doubt we'll see Jelly Bean on this phone

Ofcourse a downgrade is possible *Maybe do a little bit more research*
If your phone is rooted and has a Custom Recovery you could search for an android 2.2 rom for your phone, But if the phone didn't release with android 2.2 or lower it isn't possible.

Means if the oldest version of Android the phone was released / sold with --> you can't install a older rom bacause it doesn't exist and no one would ever starting develop a android version lower then the first stock rom the phone ever had!
Why do you want to install Android 2.2???

this phone released with android 2.3.5 then i think i cant put 2.2 .
this phone net speed is too slow and battery drain quickly when net browsing. that wise i thought to go to an old android version to solve above problems.

Not really. 2.3.5 performance is better than 2.2 as far as i know. Phone was released with 2.2 first.
There is a custom Jellybean rom available. I'd suggest trying it and UNINSTALL all non needed crap and deactivate non needed background processes. Especially google's apps love to drain your battery. Also Jellybean support virtual memory. 256MB is pretty low, so setting up the Jellybean rom may help. You can go back to stock at any time flashing the stock firmware.

Urgent Help please! Rooting 7" Tab II

I found my Galaxy Tab II after I lost it for a year. The firmware version is something like 3.3 I believe. I tried following a guide to root it, and downloaded Odin and 'P3100_CWM_RECOVERY-6.0.2.7_SUPERSU-0.99_BUSYBOX-1.20.2.tar' but Odin says it failed to root my tablet..
Do I need to upgrade my firmware first? Or are the links outdated? I just want to flash a very slim rom so I can play clash of clans without the lagginess of 2 year old hardware.
Go to @Android-Andi's recovery thread and get the latest twrp recovery Odin flashable tar file. Use the PDA option when you flash it in Odin.

Your tablet is not a P31** so there are no ROMs for it. You won't be able to upgrade to 4.4.*

The P31** and P51** are the ones that have good development. If you are looking for a new tablet, the LG G Pad's are pretty cheap now and have active development. There is also, of course, the nexus 7 and nexus 9

Have you any kind of experience with root access, custom recovery and so on?
Your phone has a own forum --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-sprint
There you will find all needed information. At least you should read some information before you start modifying your phone.

Only goes up to 4.2.2, existence is pain
Is there anyway to go up to at least 4.3 or 4.4 ?
This is the international S4 forum, so information and support for your S4 will be limited here. Read through the threads in the AT&T S4 forums, which you can access from the thread I linked to. There should be a thread there with the Android version you seek.

If you ever plan on using custom ROMs on it, then don't update.
Updating may make it impossible for you to root or flash anything other than Samsung firmwares on it.
You can try custom ROMs. Pokémon Go works fine on them too.
