Hello to all!
Im planning to buy a Nexus s. The only thing is annoying me is the video recording capability. Is there any custom rom with I can record videos in 720p?
Nope. Its not capable.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using xda premium
i will tell you even though there is no 720 video is actually really good borderline amazing.
I was a little disappointed but then after using it I realized how good it was and how much less space they take up not being HD.
I sittl dont get why the nexus s doesnt record in 720p and the galaxy does, they're almost IDENTICAL
you said it: almost!
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Almost identical yea. Actually identical, no. If the camera can't do it, it doesn't matter what your ROM is. That's like asking if your Ford focus will go faster when Tony Stewart drives it.

I was under the assumption the camera in the Nexus was the same Exact camera from the GS line. My takes photos and low res videos no different than my Epic did. Why isn't the camera capable?
Search the forums. This has been covered many many times.

Hi,
I'm currently on a Samsung Galaxy S. I really like it, and thanks to all these awesome developers, I even have ICS.
But sometimes it's too slow and it doesn't have enough RAM.
Last week I went to a shop and played with the new Galaxy 3, but it's too big, I can't even dial with one hand, then I tried the iPhone and I liked it, not the OS, the small size and snappy reactions.
So my question is there a new and powerful but small smartphone?
Best with a high resolution display (oled)
Even my current phone is almost to big, but would be okay.
So
3,3inch (iPhone?) - 3,7inch (Galaxy)
Dual core or quad core
1GB ram
16GB memory
High resolution display
ICS and future jelly bean support
Thanks and take care
-Chris

Galaxy Nexus has a screen with almost the same size as SGS3...
At 4 inches, I can suggest Xperia P...
yeah nexus s is best in performance and you will get an instant update of new android version not like the other who take alot of time to built a official rom
Samsung Galaxy S II

Yes, Galaxy S III is too big.
Galaxy S II is the perfect choice. It is just a little bit bigger than Galaxy S, but is thinner and lighter.
Also it won the contest of the Best Smartphone of 2011 over iPhone 4S.
Accessories, batteries, covers and cases for Galaxy S II are available for a very small prices everywhere.
It is fast and sexy.
The price is the lowest today (1 year after the introducing on Market).
S II is the best price/quality choice.
Well bigger is the problem sometimes I even have problems with the Galaxy 1.
Small hands. Not made for current smartphones
And nothing in the same regions of an iPhone, small size, dual core and high resolution display?
Xperia might be a good choice for you..Small screen and good specs..

If you say you have problems even with Galaxy S (4 inches), why don't you try Xperia U?

Actually I read somewhere that a guy did surgically lengthen his joints for a new smartphone
But doesn't the Sony have nearly the same or slightly worse specs than than the Galaxy, I don't want to make a step back.
then nexus might be your choice...BTW,Why not try a hand on Lumia?

Dude, you're lucky to have owned a galaxy S. I'm using an old and slow galaxy SL and I've been really utching to replace it with something newer and better like the galaxy nexus or s2 but I can't. Lol. I think you should consider galaxy nexus, HTC one x

OK all, I'm ready to upgrade but, I'm stuck on what to have. I have been using the amazingly versatile Galaxy SII for just over two years. I love the flexibility of Android and the quality of Samsung so that is where I plan on staying. My options are excessive, which one of the following devices shop you recommend. I have decided it will be one of these because of the screen size.
Galaxy S4
Galaxy Mega
Galaxy Note 2
Galaxy 8
Alternatively, I am intrigued by the S4 zoom, I take a lot of pics. But, I am not convinced the lack of screen size is made up for with a better zoom.
And go........
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
s4 zoom the best for picturing but personally I prefer s4 LTE
Come on people I need more than one response
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
I'd definitely go with the S4. My coworker has the note 2 and i have the s4 and i like mine a lot more than hers. with the note 2 they only advantage is the screen size, the s4 has the air gestures, remote capability, quad core, etc. i love it, the best phone ive ever had, i got it almost 2 weeks ago and im still learning from it.
Samsung Galaxy S4 ! You will not regret...!
Yeah the Samsung Galaxy S4 would be a good buy from the list you gave.

Apologies for not responding earlier, I don't care about cost, and to make it worse I've decided to go for the Sony Ericsson Z1 haha, I have decided it tackles all my needs. Screen size, quality, and with the new interchangeable lenses it's all good

For me personally the killer features were the spen, the display and the multiwindow. The main problem that I found is probably the speaker(and also disappointed by the camera)

not joking, huge improvement from Galaxy Note 1 / Galaxy S2
CAT-4 LTE, the removable battery and expandable storage (though the battery life on this thing is so much better than my GNexus that I doubt I'll ever need a second battery) all played a big part.
However if I'm honest, I'd figured I was getting a phablet way back in may but I was torn between the Note 3 or the One Max - I loved the design of the One and yes, the non-removable battery and non-expandable storage were sucky but I figured if they released a bigger version of it, I'd be sold.
Then IFA came and went and HTC announced nothing. Then rumours circulated that it would have a downgraded processor and after seeing the Note 3, I decided I'd waited long enough.
I'm pretty sure the exact moment I made my mind up (And this will sound stupid) was when I seen that it had a USB3 port instead.
I'd planned not to get it but it's just so damn gorgeous looking I couldn't resist. Display, s-pen and battery life are all an improvement over the Note 2 and I have 32gb internal storage now so all good.

full HD large screen.
S pen.
32 gb memory.
3 gb ram.
The large display
The battery life (it has the most amazing battery life compared to my previous android phones)
The spen (still couldnt get to scrapbook a youtube video though..does anyone know how?)
The 32gb internal storage and last but not least the one handed operation..though its a big phone but feels compact for daily use. Just my 2 cent

Super fast phone, no lagging what so ever.
Cat. 4 LTE connectivity.
Must say I'm very pleased so far, this is so much faster than my SGS3 was.

Looks like you used to have an iphone
my opinion
Samsung galaxy note 3 is an all rounder device..has almost everything..
sony z1 and lg 2 are also very good but lacks some important features..like lg g2 doesn't have external sd and sony z1 display is not as good as Samsung(personal opinion so pls don't start an argument)..and i watched many reviews where they claimed the sony z1 camera is not as good as what sony is claiming..
on the other hand, Samsung has s-pen and unique multitasking features..
in my country lg g2 and sony z1 both are cheaper than gn3..but i still bought gn3 as it has everything i want..and lacks nothing (although ois in camera wud have been a nice addition)
Many of xda members have definitely upgraded from s4 to note 3. I wanted to have some discussion about their personal experiences about upgrading from s4 to note 3.

3. Personalization

Not exactly S4 but was installing XBMC on my buddy's S3 with a display .2" smaller than S4 but it felt tiny especially using the in-app keyboard compared to Note 2 which I currently own and Note 3 I have on pre-order. Speaking of XBMC, the current stable version is running with no issues on Exynos S3, Note 2, etc. but all versions are unstable with Snapdragon 600 and newer devices with sound and video glitch, instability, crash/hang on launch/exit/app switch, etc. XBMC is one of those can't live without apps once you discover its potential.

Theoretically it seems a bit difficult but practically you find it routine handling. When I switch from S3 to note 2, I was afraid of size but when I got S 4, then it seemed a bit small size.
So size adjustment is a problem till you get the note. One you get it, the problem of size ll be no more
