No OTA on T-Mobile yet - T-Mobile LG G2

I just got my G2 today. I've tried to check for an update several times and I have not received it yet. Anyone else have this issue?

It only started rolling out yesterday. Give it time.

I'm coming from iOS. When an update is released im used to it being available immediately. How long does this typically take?

the tmobile update is on the d801 only currently

It can take 1 day up to a 2-3 weeks to get it. If you cant it sooner, just flash the kdz

Is this the official. If not will we still get ota?

Will we still get ota after using this update? Just wondering because if it is not official I still want to be able to receive the official one.

Why would anyone wonder if this is official? Where was it ever indicated by anyone, let alone LG or T-Mo, that this was it?
One thing is certain... this latest leaked build is a stock and un-rooted ROM, so future over the air updates will still work.
It was just strange it was available to the public when unofficial. It never said it was unofficial either.

I sure hope there is an OTA update, I am one of the ''lucky'' ones with LGP999DW phone and cannot update it at all, it keeps saying my phone is up to date and there is no update available.
Where do you see the dw or dwp. All mine says is lgp999 in about phone

You have to connect it to the LG update tool to see it.
I have never been able to get the OTA to work on the stock rom and being unrooted. From the day I got the phone it always has told me that it could not check for updates because of an authentication error. Same thing happens with this new leaked GB rom.

I've always been able to check and can on this gb as well
Not sure why that's happening to you

Yeah, either do I. Someone said it could be a bad sim card. I am going to go to the T-Mobile store my me on monday to get my plan adjusted to the lower price and I will ask them about it then.

In a brief search, I was unable to find the LG Updater on the LG site. I ended up downloading it from a post in the dev section of this board.
I don't think any G2x customer was ever instructed to do anything other than wait for an OTA.

I got it off the LG website. It was around a while before the update was released. You could check fir updates using it. More than likely, this tool is made for unbranded users who wont get a TMO OTA. People who bought an LG G2x not a T-Mobile G2x. This is the only way they can update I'd think.

Here's the tool:
http://www.lg.com/us/support/mc-support/mobile-phone-support.jsp
It says for me that my phone is up to date however. LG customer support says there is no update yet.

OTA-Did you get it? Withdrawn?

My daughter got it early on. I didn't. I'm having a lot of battery issues and rebooting. I want this update, hopefully it will cure my problems.
Reading the posts here, it seems it may have been withdrawn,
So I ask, Did you get the OTA? When?
I saw in the other post about the update that someone had it waiting for them Monday morning so I guess that means it wasn't withdrawn as of yesterday?
I never got it, either.
My wife hasn't gotten it, but I installed a different kernel. Would that keep her from getting the notice?
I figured if the ROM was stock, she would be ok...

I'm stock. I'm on 2.3.3 and v21e.
I'm curious and just want a show of hands from people who got it after the first couple of days.
Like I said, I did see where someone said they got it apparently over the weekend. This tells me it's not withdrawn?
And isn't the consensus that the OTA goes more smoothly than through LG?
Here's the problem, there's the lgp999DW, DWP, and 2 others that I dont remember off the top of my head. Only 3 of the 4 got the OTA. They're supposed to make the file available, for those who didnt recieve it like they were supposed to, around May 14. At that time I'm sure there should be a way to force load the update for our model.

I did the whole stock format and search for update, did the stock format and connected to my computer, all said the same thing, "Your device is up-to-date. 2.3.3 V21e." There is no current sure-fire way to get the update until they release it.

I just went through the G2x forum at T-Mobile and several reported getting the update today.
OK, found out the update was for lg p999DW models only. If you wanna which one you have, remove your battery cover and right below were the battery goes in little white print you should see something LG-P999DW or LG-P999DWP.

Official OTA is v21e
Unofficial OTA is v21y
v21y is highly NOT RECOMMENDED!!!
You can try by offline-upgrading back and forth both versions and check out the battery life

Being stated on website doesn't mean it's official. T-mobile pulled it down and has been working on random freezing and signal drop since then

I accidentally thanked you so your welcome , but how is it not official? From what i understand it was an official update from them, i dont think it was a leak either as they even gave out an update schedule, maybe they pulled it but its still 'official' from them.

Just flash the sbf files and don't bother with an OTA? Just sayin... If you want it that bad.
I would need a new computer to get the SBF flashed. My gear is not picking up this phone. Worked fine on my RAZR. Stuck waiting. Surprised it has been this long of a wait.

I am glad I didn't participate in this soak nor get the update. It's causing a lot of problems.
Honestly I think what we have here is possibly an influx of users coming from devices like the galaxy nexus that were easier to modify. Lots of one click tools. This whole rock my moto thing for rooting 4.2.2 looked intimidating. Glad I was able to keep root with pwnmymoto.
I do think it's kinda funny. I had jelly bean and Google now since August 2012. Everyone of my friends this spring kept trying to show me the new features. I'm like Ahh they're not new! Alas my payback has arrived. My ppl with gs4s are all like kit kat neener neener. Least I can be all like verizon grandfathered unlimited data neener neener!
I wonder if the day will come when sbfs can be released earlier and more available?
How are these people who manually updated and bricked their phones getting replacements? Must be bc of the non rooted folks who bricked just by simply updating. Either way I'm glad it's covered.

If you're attempting to flash the update manually you must do so twice. The first pass will update the bootloader and recovery perhaps a couple other smaller things. Regardless the main update is the second pass through. If you haven't applied the update twice from your SD Memory you can likely repair it yourself. Worst case just run the 4.4 sbf...

AT&T G2 Not showing 4.4 update?

Just bought this phone and I know that AT&T has rolled out the 4.4 update. According system this is still on 4.2.2. But system update says I am up to date, as does LG pc suite.
How long does the rollout take or am I missing something

are you on the Q firmware? if not you need to call AT&T and have them push that and then you should get the kitkat update
You can always use flash tools to flash the current 4.4.2 build, however you go back to stock
Saves an hour talking to ATT
Yes most likely you are not getting the Q update and 4.4.2 won't update without it. I flashed/OTA several times now and both times I had to call AT&T to have Q pushed. The other updates push out fine from AT&T though.
Yeah, not on "q". Well that's annoying. Talking to ATT is like pulling teeth sometimes.

Better off using a custom ROM, unless of course you prefer the dull stock ROM. KitKat is no better in my eyes, little snapier.

Not able to update my nexus 5 to KitKat 4.4.4 using OTA

I saw on the Internet that KitKat 4.4.4 with security bug fixes has been launched only for nexus 5 through OTA but when I check for updates, the phone says your system is up to date. I'm running stock android 4.4.3 unrooted. Why is this happening? Any help regarding this?
P.S. - I don't want to update using factory images. Only using OTA. Want to know why my phone is unable to get the update.
Thank you

Don't worry. I've not received it either. Google sucks with updates and gives absolutely no change log or support. Apple walks all over them in this area. I've read it may take two to three weeks for everyone to get it.

and thats why on update day at apple it takes 12+ hrs for the update to download because their servers are hammered.
pick your poison.
I'd definitely take the staged rollout. No question. Then again, I never wait for an ota. There are plenty of other options available if you're not patient enough to wait. Even waiting for the ota, you'll still get the update before most other devices. Some won't get it at all. Wait, or go a different route. Simple.

I don't understand why people who are so desperate for the update don't just install a custom recovery and flash the zip.
Or just adb sideload like a savage.
