Hello,
i know there is a way to unbrick a device that is hard bricked,
when there is no way to access it by the pc
It is called 'Google Mask Rom Mode'
To put the device in this mode, must be located the NAND module on the device, and shortened two pins
Someone knows how to locate the NAND module in an android tv box?
For example, this is the board of my tv box (T-R42):

Where is located the NAND module?
Thanks!!

UPDATE: Here's a tutorial vid on how I did the MAC address procedure with my phone:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdAtvju0HZ0
OK, so I scratched my head in wonder as to how can I get rid of the annoying NVRAM error. The hex editing trick didn't seem to cut it for me, not to mention that I'm not up to rooting the device yet.
Tools needed:
SN Station: http://d-h.st/X8J
CDC Drivers: http://www.mediafire.com/download/yxsq7qql58o3hre/Android_Gadget_CDC_driver.rar
Stock firmware for your device, in my case, a Lenovo A369i
A phone, a USB cable, and some patience.
Now, let's get this show on the road, shall we? Install the SN Station tool, and fire it up. Try adding SN_STATION.exe to your DEP whitelist if you're getting a 0xc0005 error.
On the Function Select section, choose Write WIFI MAC Address and Smartphone. Also, make sure that Meta Mode is switched on. As for the connection setting, I used USB VCOM. That's where you'll need the CDC drivers for.
For the NVRAM database files, I used the following, which can be found in your device's firmware packages. This depends on the phone though:
Code:
Modem:
DbgInfo_WR8.W1315.MD.WG.MP_LCSH72_WE_JB3_HSPA_MOLY_WR8_W1315_MD_WG_MP_V1_P14_2013_10_12_14_06_1_wg_n
AP database:
APDB_MT6572_S01_MAIN2.1_W10.24
Now click start. Turn off your phone first, and then plug it in to the USB port - it'll then switch to meta mode. Upon doing this for the first time you'll end up with an exclamation point icon in Device Manager, CDC or something like that. Right-click on it, click on Update Driver Software, and look for Android_Gadget_CDC_driver.inf. A warning may show up, but click on install anyway (after all, nobody cares). If done properly the CDC driver would be loaded.
A dialogue box will then appear, to which you need to enter your MAC address. If you're having a random MAC like with my phone you might want to generate a fixed one. Click on enter, and if done correctly, the write result indicator should turn green. Unplug your phone, and then power it on. Turn on your Wifi, and go to your device's status page. You should see your new WLAN MAC address. On the WLAN settings page you might still run into the NVRAM ERROR entry. This is normal, and you can now get rid of it by long-pressing on the said AP and tapping on Forget network.
And there you have it - problem solved.
Feel free to post any corrections or amendments, I know this isn't the only tutorial that sheds light into this matter, but I thought well maybe I should share my experience to you guys.
And by the way, I am in no way responsible in case your phone fudges up or anything.
Did you write the MAC manually, or the program generates a random new one?

Windows is probably the main/primary OS. If getting Android to boot is somewhat linked to the existence of Windows, then you might not be able to remove it. That's probably why no one did that yet.
Edit: I found this http://forum.chuwi.com/thread-1848-1-1.html
Maybe you can give it a try. Remember that you do it at your own risks.
Hi and thanks for your replies, no i dont want to take risks, as i am no expert.
the next question is
Can i show more space on android? the 46Gbs taken by windows? do i only get 9Gb of it on android ??

What you're trying to do is getting more space under Android.
That won't go without repartitioning. It's another task for the expert. Although you should be able to access (read) windows partition in Android if you use an app that can mount NTFS drivers in Android system.
Bigger issue. I just tried to reset from window to the if Android disappears. The tablet is stuck at some boot situation. Anyway to solve this plz?

Hi @METAL66 are you still stuck?
I don't have a guaranteed solution (I have original not "Pro") for you but the following helped me get Android working again when it got stuck at the Intel Inside logo.
This tablet is a x86-64 PC, and boots into a UEFI BIOS first.
1. If you don't have the Chuwi keyboard for this tablet, you can use an OTG (on the go) cable to connect a regular PC keyboard to it. I used a USB hub to allow me to connect a USB drive at the same time:
Code:
[Tablet] -- (OTG) -- [USB hub] -- [keyboard]
[USB storage]--------------------/
With the keyboard attached, you can press Del or Esc (a few times) during bootup to enter the BIOS config.
In there you can change things like whether to show a "quiet" boot or not. I turned it off so I see the AMI BIOS info when it first boots.
2. The official Chuwi Web site has self-contained recovery image installers (WinPE based).
This is the tutorial I used to recover Android while preserving Windows 10.
http -- forum.chuwi.com / thread-1283-1-1.html
Among the available recovery images is one that installs Android and causes Windows to be "lost"
http -- forum.chuwi.com / thread-1210-1-1.html
I'm not sure if the WinPE instance they distribute has full control over the partitions (presumably it at least has software on it to allow access to the Android partitions to repair the boot files write the image), but if so, maybe you can use it to delete the Windows Partitions and reclaim the space for use by Android.
Hello peeps I'm looking for the firmware package for my X7 Game Player MP5. I can flash the console using "Actions Multimedia Product Tool v.2.07" which you can download from the internet. I also know how to start up in the boot-modus to flash the device. Please help me with the right firmware package.
Hi folks, unfortunely my X7 Portable Multimedia Player MP5 is still bricked. When I insert a Micro-SD-card the
console freezes and from that point I can't navigate with the directional buttons anymore...
So the cursor doesn't react. Ofcourse I had formatted the external storage card in a xeFAT file system.
Also tried a few other Micro-SD-card's, still with the same result sadly.
Hopefully some of you peeps can help me out with the right firmware package for the X7 Portable
Multimedia Player MP5 in a "*.fw" extension file format
Hello sir, did you manage to get the firmware? I have the same device.

No sadly not have found the proper firmware for this gaming device...
So now I'm done with it, I'll opening up the console and will use most parts like the buttons
and directional buttons and the screen which works fine. With a Ras[berry Pi Zero as base console,
I'll connect the parts of the X7 Portable Multimedia Player MP5 and will let make a 3D printed case
for it. Hopefully it works fine with Emulation station software
Can i restart the console? It stays on the first image and does not advance.
I need your help, thanks

I had the same issue. I loaded stuff onto the microsd and it would lock up on the very first screen. However when I take the sd card out and power it on the handheld would go through the whole flash and go to the main screen. It seems silly to have to load the sd card in after you are already on. I'm gifting this to a kid and I don't see him doing all those steps.
Did some fooling around with the handheld. When you format the card through the system it turns the whole card to a 2gb FAT and I assume the card being a 32gb don't like that so when you reboot it freezes on boot up. But when I take the card and partition it to 4gb FAT the damn thing boots up fine.

Hey guys it so happens that I have one normal console (no problem with the firmware) but it's the x7 plus. It may still work, but i don't know how to extract the firmware.
Hello, can someone make an image for me in the sd card file from inside the X12 / X12 Plus 5 inch Classic Games Handheld console? it would be great. Regards.
