Help! Hidden ad - General Questions and Answers

Hello, I am experiencing hidden audio ads on my phone. I opened up Instagram and a voice would say "Your new free app of the day is ready to download! Shake your phone now!" and if I shake my phone, it would take me to the app store. This also happened when I opened up Go SMS Pro. Has anyone else experienced this before? Ad scanning apps revealed nothing out of the ordinary so I have no idea what is causing this. There's nothing in the notification bar either.

[Q] Spontanous Issue with Google Voice Not opening

Doesn't seem like there is a specific forum for google voice (there probably should be)
Recently I have the most annoying of issues. Seems google voice will not open. I did the usual trouble shooting. Uninstalling google voice, deleting the data, re installing from market several times. Still has the issue where I click on the icon, it flashes up, then the app disappears. Its kind of like giving me a taste. Trouble is I am on prepaid and completely using google voice so this is essential for me.. It literally takes me about 20 times of clicking the icon for it the app to pop up and stay up.
Any thoughts on this? I have no other issues with any other apps. Well once yesterday messaging did this, but it only flashed once..
I installed an app called watchdog lite earlier this week. Thinking perhaps it was that app I added google voice to the "white list" but it wont stay up. Most annoying. I have no other task killer (ATK, etc) or anything. And actually watchdog just monitors CPU usage, will not kill apps.
Thanks!
For future reference this issue seems like a permissions fix is the solution.

S7 app drawer randomly opening whatsapp chat window

when i open the apps drawer there would be times where my phone will randomly open up whatsapp chat window. i cant seem to reproduce this but it has happened many times and i was wondering if i was triggering some short cut or something which causes it to do that. even though i might be using another app before going to the app drawer, it would still open up whatsapp. it hasnt opened up any other apps though. any idea what could be triggering this?

Has my phone been hacked?

OnePlus One running Android 5.1.1. This evening I noticed the attached message in my notification shade. There is no "NPO" app visibly installed on the phone and I have no knowledge of a "Chromecast-Matthieu" in my vicinity. If I try to cast through an app I am familiar with (Youtube, Pocket Casts) I do not see that device. If I try to pause the cast or close the notification, it restarts and/or reopens within a few seconds. I can turn the WiFi off and it goes away, but turning WiFi on again it reappears. I have rebooted the phone. The apps that got updated recently seem to be trustworthy. I do not have a Google Home device. I guess that is a renamed Google Cast app (?). I uninstalled that and it had no effect.
How freaked out should I be about this? What can I do to fix it? Can cast device names be hidden like SSIDs?
Thanks,
David

com.dti.att

Hey I was just wondering does anyone else get a message about "com.dti.att is causing performance issues" in a system message bubble and and saying something about don't show this for 7 days? What is this and how can I make it stop? I've searched everywhere and all I keep getting back is stuff about DT Ignite. But the results I find say it's a carrier bloatware system app but I can't find anything on my phone about it.

It comes back as AT&T App Select.... The only time I've seen it on the phone actually active though was during setup and I just skipped all of the apps shown because most of them were crap games of no interest to me. It doesn't even show up in the app drawer or under apps in settings.
It's most likely a glitch from setup and aside from disabling it a factory reset will probably be the only thing that rectifies it
You can disable it.
Go to Settings, App, menu option of Show System apps, click on AT&T App select, then disable. Gone.

Notifications problem

I'm having some issues with notifications on this phone. It often just doesn't notify me at all!
Sometimes I go into whatsapp and there are new messages but no notification in the top bar at all. Additionally, I have 2 smart watches (a pebble one and a cheap chinese one) and these both work for showing notifications but only for about an hour after installing the app, after that, nothing until I reinstall the specific app. I have told the phone not to optimise battery for the smart watch apps but it made no difference. I've had this happen with text messages, whatsapp, gmail and ring. It seems that this phone just has a real issue with notifications! Has anyone else experianced this sort of thing?
I hope there is a fix because it's basically unusable if it doesn't even let me know when important stuff has happened (like someone at my front door for instance!!).
go to settings and type in search optiflex, you can set up to I think 10 apps that will always run in background, Im having there all IM apps and some I want to get notifications from (no need for gmail, that works always)

I've got this problem with lesser used apps like those with live match scores.
Interesting, I've had this issue with my Note 4, budget galaxy phone (can't recall exact model), ZTE zmax 2. and ZTE Blade Spark. I assume it's just a matter of dealing with ram management. I've had a hard time finding another person with this issue.
Did any one come up with a fix for this? I suspected it was related to aggressive battery optimization, but even when the app is not optimised I'm not getting notifications through.
No problems with notifications... Optiflex disabled, all apps that you want to get notifications from must be white listed from "autostart manager" (or something like that, mine is in Spanish)
Probably phone configuration error.
No problems with notifications at all.
I do not use PowerMaster, but I use OptiFlex.

Yes, go to battery settings>powermaster>auto-start manager>allow all apps to start automatically (or select individual apps to whitelist). Also allow newly installed apps to start automatically as well.
Just Purchased ZenFone6

Hey, I have had the ZenFone 6 for about 3 weeks and I must say that I think I wasted my money. Im having the same issues with notifications but more so with RING and WHATSAPP. I have tried all solutions that everyone has come up with and it seems as it its not 100% working. If you dont mind me asking, could it be the network that we are using? I dont want to believe that is it, but I wish I knew the reason for this cause.
