[Q] Moto G Automatic switch off with no use. - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I had purchased my moto g 20 days back .On 03/03/2014 i had charged my moto g to 100% .After that i had used internet for few hrs and the battery went to 85%. I didn't use it after that and had kept the phone on a desk. After 2 hrs when i picked up the phone to my surprise it was in switched off mode. I switched it on and found the battery level as 1%.
I fail to understand how it got switched off and came from 85% to 1% with no use at all , no wifi ,no calls etc.
This is the second time i faced this issue .First on 27-02-2014.
I haven’t connected my moto g to pc till now. I am using official moto g charger that came with my phone.
I had recallibrated my battery already by keeping it in charging stage for almost 5 hrs on 27/02/2014 when I first faced this issue.
Is the battery faulty or what?
Has anyone else faced such issue ? Any Fix?

[Q] Battery drained to zero when mobile switched off

I received my Moto G on 8th Feb (Saturday). I opened the packet at night. After checking everything, plugged the charger and Moto G came to life. Battery level showed 55%, which was unusual. Not sure how can this phone show 55% charging just after coming out of the box!!!??
Then I let it charge for 2-3 hours before turning it ON. When batter charging showed 100%, i removed the charger and switched on the phone.
I then enjoyed the UI of phone for about an hour and then switched it off. Then during afternoon when i tried to turn it on (as it was already charged at night), it showed no signs of life. I then connected my charger and was kinda annoyed to see that battery level is showing 0%.
Do anyone has any idea why & how is this happening?
Its a known bug when newly launched in brazil ..most of the people had the same complaint. .check the older threads in general and troubleshooting.
Seems like indian handsets come with this bug too.. nothing serious but still annoying ...
Thanks for reply.
I gained awareness from a friend that this is something called Battery Calibration. When it showed me 55% initially, it might actually be very less and when it showed 100% in 2 hrs, it might be still very less in actual. I might have used all that very less charging and when switched off, it used up the left over even less battery.
I think if anyone else too faced this problem, it must only be in initial days. I am just hoping that i don't face this problem again.
Anyone body has any view over this, plz feel free to share.
Thanks.

2 kind of minor problems with Moto G

I tried messing with the Google now thingy last night and now I have this Home menu under Device in the settings.

How to erase it?
Also I had a problem today, charged the phone to 100% last night left it on in airplane mode and an alarm set.
Woke up late discovering my phone is out with 0% battery for some reason. Plugged it in for a few seconds to see that it's alive and it started charging from 0...

(Took the shot a few hours later when I got back from work, left the phone at home).
Have no idea what could have used the whole battery of the Moto G in just 4.5 hours at night.

[Q] Moto G battery life question...

Hi,
So I recently bought the Moto G, so far I am liking... Just a question about battery life. I'm wondering if I am getting normal battery life, or is my phone defective.
I got over 5h of on screen time and over 7h of battery life from a full charge. Also the screen seems to be eating up most of the battery even though I have it on auto brightness and most of the time it is very low brightness.
Maybe this is normal, but i have heard people getting over 2 days of battery life out of this thing!
Thanks..
One more thing, when I first got the phone I began charging it with this random charger I bought, and when I plugged the phone in it immediately shut down, but it was still charging, however I didnt let it charge and got a different charger because I was scared to damage the phone. The charger I was using had 5.2V on it but the charger I'm using now has 5V on it and it is charging fine without apparent hiccups.
(I did not try out the battery performance on jellybean as I updated to KitKat as soon as I bought the phone)

[Q] Lollipop - Charging Issue

Hey everyone,
My Nexus 5 running lollipop is having a charging problem. I noticed the other day that when I left my phone to charge overnight, when I checked on it in the morning it had barely charged and the phone was saying it was going to take 9 hours to charge fully from ~30%. However, after I restarted my phone and tried charging the problem was gone. The expected charging time dropped down to a more normal 1-2 hours, and after a few minutes I noticed the percentage to start increasing.
This problem has reocurred more than once, each time requiring a restart to fix it.
Is anyone else experiencing these issues? I have been posting on the /r/nexus5 subreddit and I've noticed that a couple people having been having the same problem.
Same issue here
Same thing for me. I plugged my phone in over night to charge and when I woke up this morning only 50% charged, with 13 hours to full charge. I tried to restart but nothing has changed. I hope they fix this soon.

Z3 Dual battery levels jumps arround..

Hello everyone,
I've bought an used Z3 dual couple days ago,and after having it for some days now I noticed that the battery jumps around, for example from 88% to 50% then 32% then goes back to 88%..
That usually happens when I'm running heavy apps, like camera which caused a phone overheating as far as I noticed.
Anyways,Yestrday I fully charged the phone and when I plug it from the charger it does down to 50%,it stayed at that level for almost 24hours.Few hours ago the phone suddenly the phone turn off (while the battery was still 50%).But After putting the phone in the charger, the phone keep showing "charging icon" and turning off.It was like this for 30min and it is not charging at all..
Have anyone been in the same situation before ? What could be the problem ? and how would I solve it ?
Waiting your kind replies..
That sounds like the phone battery is literally dying.
Don't think that it is a software problem you could solve on your own.
You could try this though, doesn't hurt if you do the Method 1:
